It has been a long time since I have stayed anywhere that old with no updates! Finally got ac to work to try to air it out! Very disappointed that you rated it so high! Couldn’t even get coffee until office opened at 8!

This is an old-style, independent, family-owned motel. Solid room, good hot shower, and very friendly staff. We got good recommendations about places to eat, how to get to Mackinac Island, and even where the best day sky star-viewing could be found. They have set up a number of outdoor seating areas so when I needed to be out of the room so my husband could take a business call, I found a lovely spot in the shade to sit and read my book. I got the sense that they have a lot of regulars who return every year. Parking was easy--right outside our room.

Spent one night on the way to Mackinac Island. It was close, reasonable, clean and the perfect place for the night. It was like going back in time but was in very good condition. Reminded me of my parents house.

The Rainbow Motel was perfect for our one night stay before headed to Mackinac Island. It was clean and the owners/employees were so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

This place has a charming retro feel. Probably built in the 1950s, when people were content with small, spare rooms. Not luxurious but it has everything you need and is immaculately clean.

The staff was super friendly. The flowers around the motel were absolutely beautiful. I cant wait to go back there.

This place is an old Motel. I love the fact that people are saving these motels. It had the beautiful old pink bathroom reminds me of Route 66. They even had a real key. The place was extremely clean and the owners were so friendly. My only problem was the slight musty smell in the room. I’m extremely allergic to mold so it was a concern. However I WOULD actually stay here again. Clean, friendly, perfect area to walk to shops, restaurants, and the beach. They even have an old scooby doo mystery machine van.

Older property, very unique, has a 70's vibe.
Always clean. Indoor pool and hot tub. Big bang for the buck. We have been coming to the area for 40 years. Not flashy. You will not be disappointed.

Needs coffee pot in each room, had its own charm, needs working clock on pool area. The pool area was beautiful.
The staff was very helpful. The transportation to the fairy was AWESOME!

The Rainbow Motel was the perfect stay! right by the ferry and located within walking distance of several establishments. The staff is so so so wonderful and helpful. We even went in the hot tub for a little bit to relax.

Very clean but very basic room - but that's not a complaint, it was very pleasant. Extremely friendly staff. One of the most significant details is that my room was SILENT - couldn't hear anyone next door, couldn't hear traffic outside etc - It was very relaxing.

This was a cute locally owned motel which reminded us of ones we stayed in long ago. The grounds were so well kept up and the room, although small, was nicely updated. Clean, comfortable, quiet and safe are things we look for and this fit the bill. Also the price was right. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. We would certainly stay here again.

Weather was perfect for our trip and this family owned motel was perfectly located for walking around town to visit the shopping and food. Staff was very friendly. Our room was clean with no signs of bugs and comfortable beds. Pillows were a little flat but we like to use our own anyway. Very happy with our stay and will definitely be booking with them again.

If cabins and a motel had a baby, it would be the Rainbow Motel. The owners were so welcoming and friendly. They've clearly taken excellent care of the property. CLEAN. The small rooms have wood floors and walls. It's an old property with old furnishings. That said, the room was extremely clean. The property grounds have cute additions like a putting green, bridge, swing, etc that are all in perfect condition. Well landscaped, super clean room, great staff. That said, it wasn't what I was expecting. I've been spoiled by Doubletree and Hampton Inn for too long.
