Great pub hotel with excellent restaurant, best in this area

Wonderful family room above the pub restaurant. Separate room for the kids and a massive ‘Jack and Jill’ type bathroom. Could have easily fitted in a bath!! Huge bed and plenty of space for us all in the main room. The nearby pebble beach (small pebbles) is a lovely place too.

Service was excellent. Thank you Joel and others for room and restaurant service! The room was beautiful and modern and the food was gourmet!

Lovely stay, cosy room. Was quite warm, had to use provided fan whilst sleeping.

Lovely old pub. Accommodation was fine but room very dark and warm at night as there was only one small window and a door at exit of room. Breakfast was good.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and overall experience good, only let down the meals did not live up to expectations

A true experience! Lovely staff, cosy pub, amazing location. I recommend walking along the coast to Beer to have a Beer in Beer and then walk back have a swim at Branscombe Beach before finishing the day with a delicious meal at Masons Arms.

We took a 5 day break at the Masons Arms. The bedroom was huge and well presented. Breakfast was a Buffet continental and freshly cooked English, all very good. The restaurant soon got booked up, and the food was good, One small problem was we charged all the food and drinks to the room, and settled on departure, but the hotel were unable to provide me with a VAT receipt for the food and drink , this would be a big problem had I been on business, and I have never encountered this issue elsewhere.

Stayed for two nights ,lovely pub with good food ,can be very busy with limited seating if raining. We booked a room advertised as a standard double room,however the room was not a standard size it was extremely small and very hot,I dread to think what it would be like in hot weather.

Very last minute booking (on day of arrival) that did not disappoint! Excellent check in, before being shown to our stunning accommodation. Refurbished outbuildings done to a high standard, with everything we needed for our stay and more! Beautiful little village close to the beach - perfect for some rest and relaxation! Enjoyed an excellent evening meal with great service, followed by an equally good breakfast. Did not want to leave and will definitely return!

A very quaint and comfortable hotel- large room comfortably furnished with chair and settee and large bathroom with bath and separate shower. Delicious breakfast and excellent service . Only negative is the very narrow lane down to the village!

Lush Devon, pretty cheery Masons Arms. Patsy was perfect and team. Lovely fellow customers too, several good chats! Do visit beach.

Friendly & helpful staff

Really helpful staff. My wife left her AirPods in the bedroom and the hotel found them after we left and arranged for them to be posted back to us. From a moment of despair to a moment of elation knowing that the hotel had gone out of their way to help us. Good food, a very clean bedroom and bathroom, plenty of parking spaces, good village and a pretty beach nearby. Thank you for looking after us.

We stayed for one night for dinner, bed & a great breakfast. The room was lovely. Plus the staff very friendly & efficient especially Joal who was working in the bar & restaurant. Would definitely stay again!.

Our short break at the Masons Arms was most enjoyable.The staff and service were excellent,the food of a exceptionally high standard for a pub.The accommodation was really very good being refurbished a couple of years ago and the premium room was very spacious and fitted out tastefully.If I could offer a positive critique it would be to change the light bulbs for a brighter type as the room could be quite dark.Overall a very enjoyable stay and we would definitely visit again.

Everything from check in, dinner, the surroundings and my room were perfect. The breakfast experience in my opinion was poor. The staff member was rushed and lacked customer service. She was on her own so maybe needed a helping hand and a little extra training. Other than that the experience was a 10/10

A lovely country pub with beautiful rooms and excellent food in the cosy restaurant.

Staff were all incredible and their personalities shone through in the service they provided. This helped to make it a very unique, personal experience that's rare from a hotel. The building and location are beautiful. Food was excellent. Great attention to detail from the customer service through to the rooms and home comforts. I would 100% return and recommend.

Room is one of the best we have stayed in, high quality, Elemis soaps, free milk, coffee machine, fridge well stocked, super comfortable bed

What a wonderful hotel set in an idyllic thatched village. Everything about the place is top notch. Menu could be a little more adventurous and offer more seafood option given it is so close to the coast.
