We booked city view but we got a room with only window to “lobby”. It was a very boring room. It looked more like Airbnb not a hotel. Complained the reception and they were very unresponsive and told we are booked. Complained to Expedia and they could not get a hold of the hotel management. Stay away from this hotel. The photos and descriptions are not real.

Such a conveniently located hotel that was very comfortable and was a great place to stay while visiting Bergen! Staff was so helpful and friendly. Room was sufficient. Not too many amenities such as no gym or sauna. The breakfast was delicious however!

There is no parking on the premises. Parking is brutal and front desk didnt know far it is.. no clarity or details..just run around at night try to find it..Epic fail, terrible customer experience..not clearly though out...

Check-in was a disaster. We arrived to be told there no reservation in our name. Turns out the reservation was in another name from Venezuela! Then the clerk proceeded to chastise us for not booking directly with the hotel. She went into a lot of detail about how it is much better to avoid third parties when booking. We didn't care. It was late; we were tired and hungry, and we just wanted our room. Finally she gave us the keys and the lock didn't work! It took almost an hour to check-in and settle in our room. After that it was smooth sailing with no further problems.

We stayed in room 226 at the Magic Hotel Kloverhuset for three nights from August 14-17. During our stay, both Thursday and Friday nights we were kept awake between 10 PM and 2 AM by a very loud and thumping disco on the first floor. We had not been informed that this would be directly below our room or we would have requested a different room at check-in, especially since it was college Freshman week and those college students were celebrating loud and late.

Hotel is in a great location right across from the fish market. We had no issue with any noise. Staff very helpful and delicious breakfast. We were disappointed with our room as our view was only a rooftop and slanted walls with intrusive curtains that blocked the one side of the bed. The bathroom had no space for anything with no shower door and towels inaccessible due to location.

Booked a family room and was pleased to find that it was actually two separate rooms, one with a double bed and the other with a sofa bed. Room was spacious, clean and well-equipped.

Excellent location.Checkin as slow and there was no room service or cleaning for 3 days we stayed. Apartment was fully furnished and comfortable with access to laundry, bathrooms were good but the water would overflow from the shower area. There is no air conditioning. Enjoyed my stay

I do not know how this hotel got a 4 star rating, it is 3 star at best! No storage anywhere for clothes etc, no safe, no fridge, no tissues, no table etc It is very spartan. However it is clean and presented well, but lacks facilities.

Lovely large room with an excellent view of the harbour. Well worth upgrading for the views. Buffet breakfast had excellent choices. My only negative feedback on breakfast was that the plates were not warm so hot food would get cold quickly. Also we found our toilet to be much lower than usual. You were at risk of falling backwards. Plug sockets in the room were all at ground level under the desk. Had to crawl on the floor to plug in your phone. Not ideal for older people or somrone with mobility issues.

Great experience. I know there's a lot of complaints about noise on here - I stayed there on the harbor-side during weekdays and the entire weekend - there was no loud music or disruptions at night.
The room was excellent, the view was excellent, and the breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay again.

Friendly staff, always smiling and happy to help, clean premises and plenty of good choices for breakfast. The hotel room is simple (no fridge, no safe), but it's pleasant and clean. I had a room facing the docks, and the windows are not fully sound proof but the noise outside was not too bad and it was relatively calm at night. As a person who grew up in noisy urban areas, this didn't bother me at all. In fact, Bergen is a charming low noise city overall.
The location is very convenient and close to major markets and public transportation. It's perfect if you're visiting for a few days and want to minimize commuting.
