Well-situated in the centre of town with friendly and helpful staff. Very good breakfast menu, food quality and cooked to order. Good food served all day and pleasant bar area with wide choice of drinks. Good value and very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Some areas a little in need of updating/refurbishment but characterful and clean throughout.

Great place to be and positive menu changes since last year. We will comeback!

I have stayed here several times and always been drawn back by the friendly people and warm comfortable atmosphere. It makes my business trip more enjoyable. Great location.

The previous time I have stoped at this holel was Sat 30th September 2023 for one night . My expreience was only just about average as the customer care was poor. My dinner was a cold when it arrived and I complained and it took the staff 3 times to actually get a warm dinner to me when after I complained and requested a new dinner. At one stage the staff actuallly forgot about me and I had to remind them at the bar. The food was poor and microwaved and was expensive. My stay at the George on Sat 11th November2023 was vert much different as the hotel is under new management with staff being customer focused and helpful and a new menu witha good selection of food which is not microwaved.My single room accommodation was also exellent.

I hoped for a local experience rather than a tourist experience and that's what I got. The people were welcoming and the food great. Location wise a short walk to the sea, the castle and the shops.

Comfortable room and fabulous breakfasts, would definitely return. Serve a decent pint plus one or two restaurants nearby but our best eats were at The George

Parking tricky. Took a while for staff to check me in. Room had a really unpleasant smell. Disappointed to see Nescafé on the hospitality tray- this really is ghastly coffee. Dance music playing in bar downstairs till 11pm so couldn’t get to sleep. Food was average- frozen vegetables and frozen chips.

This is a pub with expensive rooms so don't expect 'hotel' service

Downstairs bar loaded with locals - reasonably priced beer and great staff.

Friendly and wonderful location, but no hot water for my shower on the second morning.

The comfiest bed!

Booking made via hotels.Com however the reservation did not make it through to the hotel booking system so they were not expecting anyone and the rooms were actually closed! However the super staff made a room up and we’re able to host my visitor.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

We did not have the great view we had last year but the room was just as good.
