Staff was helpful and courteous. The breakfast in the morning was good and plentiful. Plenty of restaurants and shopping in the area.

The issue I have here is that the guests using the pool seem. Ot to be required to dry off or wear shoes in the elevator and the elevator floors were wet. Also, I understand that this hotel caters to a nosier atmosphere in the lobby but at check in feels intimidating. Also pet fee is high.

Jada at front desk was very friendly. WiFi was out and they failed to inform me before checking in. Mgr didn't see a need to call in their maintenance man to "Restart" WiFi System. I stayed on a Tuesday night. There were zero GF food options. Staff replied "We had a busy weekend" 2-3 days later and they couldn't restock. So much for "brand consistency"! I gave mgmt a week to reply to my concerns. No response - not even a form reply! I have enjoyed Tru facilities before - NEVER again! Pathetic excuse for a Hilton property, operated more like a red roof inn.

Hotel was somewhat spartan. There was no coffee machines in the room. Check in was somewhat of a problem since rooms were not ready after the check in time. The hotel manager was finally called and managed to resolve the problem. The breakfast was ok. Will probably not stay at a Tru Hotel again.

The room was very small, but it included absolutely everything that we needed and wanted. The bed was incredibly comfortable. We stayed two nights and got two very good nights sleep. The bathroom was great with a large shower.

First time at a Tru hotel and would definitely stay again. If you’re looking for cozy this place is not it but very cool, simple decor and clean. Hardwood floor, no gross carpet and a stand up shower not a dirty tub/shower combo.

This is a very modern hotel. They even have games and a pool table in the lobby! The hotel staff was very friendly.

Senior staff at check in very unfriendly and uncooperative. Treated junior staff poorly, even as he tried to be helpful. Asked to see manager and he would not come out to meet with me. Night was terrible with constant thumping noisse, making sleep impossible. I have been a Hilton user for decades, but never a Tru, and will never use again.

Housekeeping needs to be properly trained. Uncomfortable check in, several guest (s) in the lobby playing pool, talked ng about a fire in the hotel.

We were woken up the first night at 5:30 am by the previously set alarm clock. We were woken the second night at 3 am by a fire alarm. Everyone had to evacuate the building and wait for the fire department all clear. The bed is too hard, the pillows too soft, the towels are VERY small. The shower is slippery. Breakfast powdered eggs and cereal with no healthy options. Both days ran out of bananas. Shower pressure was very minimal, and lastly the coffee was terrible. The only positive is Amber on staff who is a joy.

Check shampoo and conditioner levels. Conditioner ran out in my room. I cannot do much in the middle of a shower. Maybe extend breakfast hours.

Outstanding. Airport shuttle, plus snack area for purchase around front desk, ice buckets next to ice machine ++++, and quick elevators. Loved every minute of it!

Never took out trash unless we complained. Had to ask daily for towels. Only had 3 towels on arrival for 4 people.Did not take out wet towels unless we asked them to.Bed sheets were never changed in the week we were there. It seemed like they were understaffed. Very poor for a Hilton.

Hallways were very dirty. Did not look like they had been vacuumed in weeks. Rooms were dated and lots of scratches and scuffs in furniture. Pillows were comfy, but I would not stay here again.

I’m not a review writer. If I have a good experience I tell my friends and I return again and again. If I have a bad experience, I usually don’t go back. Simple My experience at Tru by Hilton in Grand Rapids motivated me to tell anyone who would listen. “Do not go there no matter how inexpensive it is…or how good the pictures are. We had 3 rooms for 7 days. They had the normal “due to Covid we will only service your room every other day, if you need anything please see the front desk” We all requested clean towels, trash pickup and beds made after 3 days without ever seeing anyone from housekeeping They apologized and promised our rooms would be clean and ready when we returned that evening. Remember this is 3 different rooms on 3 different floors. They didn’t even come empty the overflowing trash cans! My room did not get any service for the first 6 nights. The other guests had similar situations. Management continued to apologize and make promises that were not delivered. This hotel does not offer a microwave Or coffee in any of the rooms. They claim that there is hot coffee and a microwave available 24 hours day in the lobby. Wait…..what? So it’s off to Walmart to purchase a coffee maker. I hope I have given enough information here to keep my fellow travelers from experiencing the worst hotel stay of their lives. For 57 years I have held the Hilton in high regard and today I promised my wife we would NEVER stay in a Hilton property again.
