Here at El Beso with my friends for two birthday celebrations, and I cannot get past the fact that we were profiled because of who we are. We are hardworking, genuine people who are only looking to have a good time. It has been incredibly frustrating and disheartening to face such discrimination, especially while trying to enjoy a birthday celebration.
It was embarrassing how we were handled at the buffet on Friday, 9/6. The supervisor told us we could not enter with short sleeve shirts on, while others were seated in basketball shorts and crop tops. These people were never challenged and they were all white.
When confronted, the manager told us, "You have to understand the culture." What does that even mean? This is an INTERNATIONAL resort. If your employees are not comfortable with the LGBT community, that should be clearly stated in your establishment's bio.
Today is my birthday, and I feel too uncomfortable to go to dinner because the discrimination has been too much for me to handle. I wanted to enjoy the lighthouse dinner, but now I don't want to spend any of my money at this hotel where gay men are not respected and are profiled based on an employee's personal beliefs.

*Alejandro Mr. Get It Done is always incredible! He has an amazing personality and is so grateful. He knows how to move the crowd and keep their attention. He has great relationships with his peers and the guests. Every time I visit this resort, he gets even better. He deserves whatever he asks for. Wanda** is amazing. She is funny, smart, and always willing to go the extra mile. Her smile and daily greetings make her special. She is kind and knows how to pivot. Wanda is sharp on her toes and creative. She always makes me feel like I want to return to this resort a million times over. Wanda, thank you for being amazing.
**Johana** is always incredible. He is thoughtful and sincere, ensuring everyone has a good time. I am thankful for all that he does to entertain the guests. He can dance and knows how to keep the crowd going. Thank you for always being personable.
**Francesca** is soft-spoken and easy-going, with a bright smile and vibrant energy. She was a bubble of energy during Zumba classes. Thank you for conducting stellar classes and keeping me moving. Can’t wait to come back.
**Esteban**, you are doing an excellent job training and developing your team. It’s clear they want the guests to have a great experience at all times. They always go the extra mile, which takes a leader. They see you go the extra mile, and that motivates them to be better. Overall great experience would definitely visit again. The only thing was the employee hardly wanted to provide good service. You had to ask for coffee every morning and refills. The staff seems scattered and not trained to provide exceptional customer service. Go with patience to wait.

Amazing water and beaches surround the property. There are many different food options available and pool activities - With all the families around it seemed like a great spot to take family and kids, despite staying in the adults only section. Downsides was that service was slow and every coffee or drink tasted a lot like the syrup they use to make it.

This resort was absolutely beautiful, however, the food was not the best. I feel as people paying for an all-inclusive resort, they should put more effort into making sure that the food is in better conditions, so that people do not get sick like me. The breakfast was the best, well anything that was actually cooked in front of me were. A lot of the staff tried to get you to buy things or become a premium or exclusive member for “better” perks. Will I stay here again? No, not unless the food gets better cause they didn’t even try.

The property is beautiful, clean and everyone is friendly. They need a better system for reservation for dining. There is part of the bech that is beautiful and another part that has big rocks in the ocean. They have golf carts that travel around and pick you up if you want a ride because it is a big property. I think they would benefit to get more rafts for the lazy river. They have like 10 so everyone was purchasing them at the store there. We gave ours away so someone else could enjoy it. Also could use mire shops to buy things. I like the set up of stores on one side and activities and restaurants on the other side. The food was terrible. There were a few items we enjoyed like the fresh fruits and homemade waffles for breakfast. I had a good pork chop at the the steakhouse. They don't have beef taco's but have fish and shrimp which i did not eat. The pizza,and hamburger suck. Overall was nice and quiet we went in August but both ended up with diarrhea after 2 or 3 days of the food.

I been at this resort twice, the first was at
Ocean El Faro everything was great, the food average but the staff was great, the second time was at El Beso which was not so great, first i came back in my room there was an empty beer can on my dresser next to my bed which no one investigated, the casino was closed throughout my trip, the bowling alley was always full of young kids, the entertainment was great, i invited a friend to come at this resort to celebrate her birthday she was in building 10 the elevator was broke on her whole stay in making complaints no further action until we spoke to manager for her room to be on first floor on her last few days that she had to walk up and down 20 steps, the manager told her on her birthday there will be decorations at this particular restaurant there was none, there can be more golf carts for rides to and from destination, the reason i came back was the staff being very nice. Also the housekeeper flipped the bed sheets instead of clean sheets. Would i go back No.

I stayed with my husband for 7 days in this beautiful hotel. Staff are very friendly and food was awesome. I’d definitely go back to this hotel. The coffee shop was amazing and also the 24/7 food is so convenient

Love the resort!! The food was ok, not the best, but it was eatable only complaint is it was hard to get ahold of the staff to get maintenance to the room. I would definitely return in the future.

Had a lovely stay at Ocean El Faro - Adults only. Highly recommend this resort.
Pros:
-Beautiful grounds and decor, perfect for photos.
Plenty of amenities with daily activities like Spanish lessons, workout classes, pool parties, shows, bowling, gym, and shopping. There's also a casino.
-Clean resort with constant upkeep, though the pool turned green one day but was quickly fixed. Room cleanliness was decent, with some small mold specks (7/10).
-Wide variety of food options, not all great but satisfactory overall.
-Secure property with security guards patrolling the perimeter and stationed near our room.
Cons:
- Customer service varied; some staff were warm and helpful, while others were dismissive. Speaking Spanish helps.
- Persistent salespeople offering excursions and spa days, polite but frequent. The "Dominican Market" event featured very pushy vendors who used scare tactics, claiming to appear only once every 15 days, but we saw them again just 2 days later.
Overall, again, would definitely recommend this resort!

This resort is absolutely beautiful, the food was great. Entertainment was excellent, if you have children this is a great resort many activities for them. Depending on the building your staying in you may have to walk a distance to the restaurants and entertainment. (They do have go carts, if you can catch one) What I absolutely did not like is the sale reps from “premium club.” My significant other and I were told that we were getting a “tour” of the property something like a “welcome tour” however we ended up being swindled into hearing about a premium club for $30,000. It took about 2-3 hours of our time when we were told 1 hour. This was also our actual first day there due to us getting in late the night before. After we nicely declined the offer after being told “you don’t have to do it” we were met with disrespect and questioning about why we were declining. The women who was about the numbers tried to blame our decision on the sales rep who was absolutely fabulous by the way “Luis.” It was very distasteful and they make you feel really awful with the things they say such as “it’s not taking food off your table.” Besides from this major thing the resort was stunning, great, and clean. Now that I know what to look out for I will absolutely return to this resort.

The food was not authentic Dominican food at all. It didn’t have enough meat options if you were a person who didn’t eat pork. The property was old and not nothing like the pictures online. The shower head broke right off when I tried to use it lol. It was outdated. I think this is more like a 3 start hotel. I would not recommend if you’re truly looking to stay at a 5 star hotel.

My overall experience for this resort would be a 4/5. Coming in they do warm you with a nice welcome, and are friendly for the most part. I went on a solo trip for my 25th birthday and stayed on the El Beso side of the resort which is considered adults only.

My only complaint is certain restaurants on the resort need a reservation, I was there for 5 consecutive days and was only able to get a reservation ONE time . Every other day I didn’t have much of a choice but to eat at the buffet which was amazing . And the staff is VERY flirtatious!

The staff was very polite and accommodating. The property was clean and well manicured. The rooms were beautiful. The beach and pools were amazing. The only drawbacks were the pool bars closed at 6 and the staff trying to get you to listen to joining the H10 property. Just like a time share for all their locations.

I am a seasoned traveler & have been to DR 17 times prior to my May 20 th 2024 trip. We stayed on the El Beso side facing the abandoned lot. On the ground level. Day one we pull up to the resort in private transportation & not one bell boy came to greet us or take our luggage. We walk to the check in desk to be told our room wasn’t ready & leave our stuff outside & go have lunch. After 4 hours our room was ready & we headed there. The room was very clean, but smelled so bad of mildew. Our safe was not working & our door lock didn’t work. I called the front desk & security had to come & change the lock which took about 2 hours. I surly wasn’t sleeping without a locked door across from the abandoned field. The beach had trash everywhere. The loungers are not good to sit in as they sag & are very low. No tables to place drinks on & the beach bar service is truly horrible. The beach is always my favorite part of vaca. It was a bummer.
The food was suboptimal. Horrible actually. The best food I had was at Japanese. The rice & chicken were delicious! I starved the other days. Mikes coffee shop was ahmazing! Everything was good, but the service is super slow.
Housekeeping was non existent.
The lobby bar has THE BEST DRINKS & bartenders. Saury was the absolute best & every drink she made was delicious. The piano bar guy was great too.
My personal opinion is I will never return to Oceans El Faro. I give them 2 stars.

My suite was amazing. Literally right on the beach with a double sized balcony, by far the best part. The staff was incredibly nice and easy to work with, their timing a little on the slow side but I will take friendly with a smile over timing any day.

I really wanted to have a good time at this resort but I had the worst time ever! My Mom and I celebrated her 55th birthday and we were completely disappointed. The resort is beautiful but the drinks and food was terrible, the pool water was always hot, was never able to get a hold of housekeeping or the front desk. The Staff were very aggressive and try to sell you things and wanted us to do a time share, even when we were eating they would interrupt us just to try to have us buy things. If you wanted a glass of wine you needed to buy the bottle it was not all inclusive, my mom key-fob wasn’t secured on her wrist and she lost it, the front desk tried to charge her $150 to replace it. We met some people out there and someone stole money from their room, housekeeping would leave your room unattended leaving room for anyone to walk in and touch your things. The resort had no activities or anything planned, it rained our entire trip and there was nothing to do. Whenever we were at the pool they didn’t have no music playing, it was so quiet & they had no towels it was only for the people who were in the “Privileged Club”. The drinks were watered down, didn’t give you a buzz at all, even the sodas and juice were watered down, the food had no seasoning, room service only had 7 options not including breakfast. We stayed on the all adults side and there were children always on our side of the resort. Worst experience ever! I wish I can get my money back!
