Fabulous time at Mado

Staff was rude and not unhelpful. They gave my paid prebooked room away and were dismissive when I asked for another room. They also didn't help me in any way to find another accommodation. It was a bad, frustrating experience. The hotel staff experience was quite unacceptable and upsetting. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone because they don't treat their guests correctly.

Horrible service. They sold my room to someone else after I fully paid for it weeks ago on Hotels.com. They were nasty and rude when I asked for an explanation or help. It ruined my evening and it cost me 2 hours of time and frustration after a long trip. Very horrible and upsetting experience. Definitely would never recommend this place after this awful experience. I am going to ask for recompense for this very bad and frustrating experience.

I liked the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food and beverages. Checking in and out was convenient. The room was comfortable. My room was a bit noisy because of mechanical equipment.

Overall I give Mado Hotel a 4 out of 5 stars. I would have given a 5 star rating but the breakfast included came with a $5 dollar delivery charge and the breakfast wasn’t good at all, but overall a 4 out of 5 stars! 👍

The room I stayed in was nothing short of exceptional. It was impeccably clean, spacious. I highly recommend this hotel for future customers who plan to stay around bole area.

The facilities were good and very well maintained, The hotel staff were courteous and ever ready to assist. On a negative note, the room heater wasn't working but we were given not too effective stand alone heaters in replacement. overall i will not hesitate to recommend Mado hotel ti others!

I have not even used the room because the bedsheet was dirty and i found lice on it. The receptionist offered me the bedsheet change but I can I sleep on I bed that has lice.
It is just west of money.

So many problems with this place. I wont be back:
Breakfast: 2 /10, just poorly made food with bad taste. Coffee is sour.
Rooms: 4/10 a lot of maintenance needed in the rooms. Things falling apart, TV signal is weak, soap and shampoo is like water. Beds were ok.
Service: 1/10 I ordered room service and paid in my room when i got a receipt. The staff took the money (with a 15% tip) and then on check out I was told that i should pay for the same room service. The hotel staff aparently thought my entire payment was a tip. Otherwise staff are extremely weak in speaking English which makes mlst things difficult.
In general i would expect thus standard for a rate of 50-60 USD per night. This hotel is not worth the price.

We arrived and we got the room immediately we left for sightseeing and when we back we were tired and we found the bed broken it is took them two hours to give us another room with sink leaking

Hotel is very nice. Staff is cooperative. Since Addis is cool most of the years the Hotel room AC should have warm temperature control. Even after keeping the AC at Fan mode on low speed & setting the temp at 29 the room was too cold for me. Also, they should increase menu items for room service. Put some rice dishes in veg & nonveg. 2 water bottles of 500ml are not enough. Menu in breakfast should be increased. Breakfast juices should be tasted before keeping them. Anyways the stay was good I would say. Would recommend to others too.

I stayed 1 night at Mado hotel, my stay overall was good, location is very convenient to the airport, shops and restaurants, the staff members are very polite and helpful from beginning to the end, breakfast buffet was good, normal checking time is 2pm but they allowed me to checking in at around 11am and which was fantastic! I will definitely stay here on my next trip. And I highly recommend if you stay in Addis area for business or leisure.

everything was great. the room was really clean and had everything we needed such as slippers. The bed was extremely comfortable and had good pillows too. the shower was really nice and easy to control the temperature which is not always the case in Ethiopia. Breakfast was excellent and everything was fresh and well presented. We also used the spa for a massage which was good as was dinner in the restaurant, very tasty indeed.

Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, nice location for restaurants and coffee shops (if you are a coffee lover then you should try Tomoka across the street from the hotel). On the downside, that area could be noisy, and their breakfast has very limited choices (does not go with the standard of the hotel)

Good location, noisy construction next door until late at night and early morning. Noisy road. Was advertised as having a gym but didn't. Food was average with not much choice for western customers. Room service would not deviate from the menu, couldn't even do french fries! For the money this hotel was dissapointing.

I must say very modest, clean place without heavy price. After staying a couple of days at the Hilton executive room, I feel like I’m not missing much here at The Mado.
Room, great color choice. If you are from warm climate they will provide you with portable heater (take caution, it can heat everything near it.)
Spa, almost always you will enjoy it by yourself, everything looks new
Restaurant, food is good...Americano and Macchiato the best.
Hotel is located in the center of everything you need.
If you are new to Addis, always share your experiences. I feel like Addis Ababa lack good service, by sharing they can improve!
