Wasnt the greatest experience. We checked in "they text you the door code" there were people already staying in our cabin. Walked in on another couple and thier dog. They were great about it, but it was awkward. Called the "after hours number" and they appologized and asked if they could call me back once she pulled over since she was driving, called back and gave us a code to the cabin next door. While I was on the phone with her I confirmed that we could be able to stay in the same cabin the next night also since we were going to be there two nights, she said yes she would make sure that happened (spolier alert this did not happen) This cabin was nice, bed was hard as a rock and my husband didnt sleep very well that night. Back to check-in there was suppose to be a wine tasting until 6pm, but when asking (had to call) because there was nobody there she said they "decicded to go to dinner" it was 5:30ish and the wine tasting was suppose to be open until 6. The next day, we had a reservation for ziplning at 10:30am while we were there I got a text that asked me to call at my ealiest convienience, so when we finished we were headed into Helen to get lunch and I called then back. They asked if we could come back to switch cabins back to the origional because it "would make it easier for them with the people coming to check in to the one we were currectly placed in" so we had to drive back to the cabins, move our stuff and then we would go eat lunch. Very Inconvenient.

Very nice accommodations. Some minor maintenance issues, i.e., fan light bulb out, control rod for blinds missing.
Lacking an ice maker for quest use.
Very quiet location, restful. Quick trip to Helen and tourist sites.
Would make nice location for family gatherings.

The cabin was clean and comfortable. Coffee and snacks were provided and check in and out was easy. We spent most of our time out and it was comfortable for us!

The hotel is quaint and beautiful. The great room is very cozy and there is a nice porch to sit outside and have a glass of wine. The room was very comfortable and the staff was fantastic!

This was an amazing, safe, quiet and peaceful place. The tasting room is wonderful. Twisted wines are quite good.
Staff was amazing. We will be back.

Staff was very friendly and our room was very nice and clean.
There was no staff or security on site overnight. You were texted a number to call if you had problems. Would not have stayed here had i known this. Building was left open all night.
Anothe couple staying there burnt popcorn in the common area microwave and set off the fire alarm. I thought the alarm going of at first was on the tv. This was at 11pm. At 11:15, i looked out the door to see a gentleman with the outside doors open fanning the awful smell and smoke. He told me what was going on. The alarm is still blasting. I then call the number we were texted and a lady answers the phone only to say she would send the maintenance man over to shut it off. That happened around midnight. Night of sleep ruined. No fire department or police showed up to make sure nothing else was going on and to clear the building. What if that microwave had blown up and caught on fire, were we to put the fire out and hope everything was fine. No one even followed up to apologize for this inconvenience! Their grab and go breakfast was a joke. Almost empty baskets of chips, power bars, granola bars, and a couple of containers of yogurt in this little fridge. What the heck! In my book this is one and done. We could of stayed at one of the other chain hotels in the area for the same or less price and at least had a decent breakfast. What a way to ruin our anniversary weekend!

Exterior of property was not clean front porch etc... cheap bathroom soap
No jacuzzi on property
Liked snacks. But no drinking water since stores were so far away. Would have been mmbice to have at least one bottle a piece

Cabin is so cute , cozy , and clean! It was convenient to Helen Georgia. And the state parks were a short drive away. Staff was perfect. So kind and checked up on us to insure we were enjoying our stay. We will be back!

Nice facility. We were in the off season so it was really quiet. Great location.

My husband and I had a great stay at Sylvan Lodge with a few other friends for a weekend getaway. The room was very spacious. My only complaint was the shower did not get very hot and a bigger breakfast other than a grab and go would have been nice. Definitely plan to return!

Heating unit was horrible. We had to turn it on and off all night to regulate temperature.
Bed was broken down.

Cabin was cute, close to Duke Creek waterfalls. The blinds were dusty. Stairs to second floor/ upstairs room is so steep and we didn’t feel safe going up and down. The property was generous with towels and coffee / tea and snacks.

I reserved my thoughts about this property until we stayed there.
First of all, the good things about this property is that it was quiet and still close to Helen to be able to enjoy the town without being in the middle of the holiday crush and the staff was friendly.
However, we were very disappointed because we had booked this property with the understanding that a hot breakfast was included in the rate in order to save some money. A couple of days before we were to arrive (and after the deadline to cancel had passed) I received an email from the property talking about their “Grab and Go” breakfast, which consisted of packaged pasteries, packaged cereal and whole fruit only (my husband is Celiac and unable to eat this kind of food). In fact, even though Expedia and the property’s own website states there is a restaurant, be aware that this property DOES NOT have a restaurant on site. When I called to confirm this, I was told that Expedia should have changed the information, but as stated, it is also on the property’s website that there is a restaurant still. The management offered a bottle of wine as “compensation” but having to go somewhere for breakfast and spend more money, after expecting a full breakfast, was disappointing.
The room we stayed in, while it was clean and tidy, it is in desparate need of a renovation. I got the impression that the sister property in Dahlonega, GA is the one that is getting all of the love.

Very pleased with the Sylvan Valley Lodge! Cute rooms, quiet location, and a wine bar downstairs to boot! This place gave off an b&b-tiny hotel vibe but still felt private.
Shared accommodations like the shared living room area with the coffee and snack bar were a nice touch since hot breakfast is not available downstairs. I would absolutely stay here again due to how cute and neat it was, and also its proximity to hiking, wineries, and downtown Helen.
A few suggestions to management to make this place even more awesome would be:
1. Have the wine bar be open more than 4 days a week.
2. Add more snack options to the shared area such as prepackaged cereal and milk. Right now the only snack options are snack bars, yogurt and oatmeal, with little condiments like butter to dress up the oatmeal.
3. Add a full length mirror to every guest room. Right now the only mirror in our room was the one above the sink so it made getting ready tough when you're sharing with another person.
4. Replace the stairway carpet. It is super soiled and takes away from how amazing this place is!
5. Offer some activities for guests to do around the property, such as cornhole, horseshoes, a hammock, fire pit, etc. It can get pretty boring if you want to hang around outside of your room outside of wine bar hours.

It is close to but not in Helen. It is quiet, conveniently located, has a wine tasting and the rooms are very nice. However, the windows need to be washed. The outside tables on the balcony need washed. The rug in the room needs cleaned. There was no food Saturday night. We heard so much about the charcuterie board but it was not available. We ended up eating a granola bar for dinner.

Charming place

The place is nice but needs updates. Also needs better wifi, very spotty, and would be great for convienences like ice and ability to grab a soda or water when on property since you are not next to anything. But they are not there now. So overall, not worth the money in my opinion.

What a great retreat for couples or family! We loved the patio and family room. Will be back soon to see the color in the fall.

My husband and I stayed here for one night and it was, overall, an okay experience. The lodge is right off a busy main road so if you sit outside on the patio you hear all the cars going by. The winery was quaint, but only one person was working and it took a long time to get service. They were open until 5pm and it would have been nice if it was open later; would have loved to sit in the lounge, listen to the music, and drink wine later into the evening. The charcuterie board was fabulous. Our room was satisfactory and clean but we felt the pillows were too hard for us; we both tossed and turned all night. There was no way to turn the AC down without turning it from Light AC to Regular Air flow or to off so I froze most of the night. There were no extra blankets in the room and no front desk staff to ask. It is in very close proximity to Helen and just outside the downtown area so we weren't stuck dealing with that craziness. The same lady who ran the winery lounge greeted us a check-In and she was friendly and sweet. Don't know if we would stay here again though.

I was quiet yet close to most attractions—a very enjoyable trip.

The cabin was clean and had everything we needed but property manager was very responsive and accommodating for things we didn't have. It's also a short drive from Yonah Mountain and Helen's main attractions. Fair price.

Definitely a weekend retreat. Staying through Tuesday was not necessarily worth it, as the gift shop/winery are both closed and housekeeping does not seem to work all days.

Internet was down and no cell signal .... that was my only negative. However, they had a deck of cards that we used for several hours instead of watching TV!

Rooms very comfy and well furnished. Enjoyed the shared great room with its large sitting area and shared big screen TV. Nice nice little breakfast nook area for self service of coffee’s, oatmeal, yogurt, muffins. The part we were disappointed about was the wine tasting area. It said it was open till Sunday at five. We arrived at four and a one star person acted as if it was already closing, plus it was completely empty. there’s a nice patio out doors for tasting with lovely trees and foliage, but there is a lot of road noise so perhaps that’s a factor. We left there and went to another vineyard in the area that was open till six and was very festive with lots of people and music. it was just 3 miles away and a night and day difference! I would say stay here to be outside of busy Helen, and away from crowds, but yet close to vineyards, but just go in knowing that this vineyard might be very quiet.
