Really warm and helpful staff. The property overlooks the Payyambalam beach and we could hear the waves as we lay in bed even though it was about 100 mtrs away seperated by a road in between. The resort itself was wonderful,with a small pool to chill in and well maintained garden. The Non Ac room was just sufficient for us(just 2 of us,no kids) and had a nice balcony facing the garden. There was no operating restaurant for food but beverages were available on request. My husband got a ayurvedic massage and mentioned it was great 😌 Since we avoid plastic water bottles,the staff helped us with the ayurvedic drinking water promptly each day. Our stay of 2 nights at Asokam was memorable.

The common bathroom/toilet for the pool could be maintained better as the faucets and shower looked green and rusty. There were some cobwebs in our room and was a bit dusty,none which was a huge problem but I'm sure could make the experience more pleasant!

The location of the resort is in a prime location. The beach is just 100 feet away which allows you to take a walk whenever you feel like. The staff Dhanesh was really helpful. They also helped us with our travel around the City by helping with car facilities. The breakfast and dinner was also very tasty.

Please read this review completely, it will save you some money! As an avid traveler, I have had many type of experiences in the past, but considering the amount of money I paid, my stay at Asokam resort was the worst I have had. First of all, I made the booking through booking.com (gave my credit card details), thinking everything is taken care of. When I reached the resort late night (with a 1 year old in hand), the staff told me that I have to make the payment since the details given to booking.com does not pass over to them. I was travelling from outside India and had few credit cards in hand (not enough cash to make such a big payment). The staff refused to take the payment through credit card, citing transaction fees that they didn't want to pay which would be around 100-200 rs. Seriously??? I paid close to 26k for the rooms and you can't deal with that transaction fee? When I gave my passport as ID proof, the owner held on to it and refused to give it back. I felt very scared at the moment (not giving a foreigner's passport back is a very bad thing to do, no matter what). I had to wait till the next morning and have a local friend pay via Google Pay to get my passport back. The deluxe room was no where close to the photos. The bed was uncomfortable, the bathroom was outdated, and there was not enough water in the tap. The A/C turned off intermittently and we had to call them every time to turn it back on. In one of the other suite rooms that I booked for a friend, the staff turned off the power exactly at checkout time and came to confirm whether we will be checking out in time. Only after getting the confirmation did they turn the power back on. Again, a very bad treatment for the money we paid. The only good stuff about the place was the location (close to beach), the pool, and a decent breakfast. I will NOT recommend this place to anyone!! When you are in a business like this, the least you can do is to make the customers happy.

Staff is money oriented and always look for extra money. Charged additional money for my kid close to double the rate.

There is no hot water , there is no restaurant, they expect only money,money money, from you while entry , they ask you to clear , booking amount, because they know , they are charging too heigh

Maintenance was good. Staff response was good.

Breakfast quality could be improved. If lunch and dinner was provided in the resort it would be better. Out side food was not that quality.

Amazing access to a clean and a beautiful beach. Path to a less crowded area of the beach is right in front of the resort. Very cordial and accomodating staff. Great view.

In general everything was very good. All the staff were exceptional. The room was spacious and had great views and with a place to sit out and watch the sea/sunset. All the windows had mosquito nets so it was the first time I could actually have the windows open for fresh sea air! The sound of the ocean is the main sound you hear day and night and really aids a good sleep. The breakfast is plentiful and excellent and the food in general is not expensive and very, very good. The room had a kettle/tea/coffee and a fridge as well as a decent TV. Very relaxing, the very clean sea/beach a few steps away and a short walk along the beach into Kannur Town. I'll definitely stay here again

Just a few small things: The pool is a bit narrow The bathroom sink in the room I was in is ridiculously small The road between the resort and the beach is narrow and there's no gap between the boundary of the resort and the road. Indian psycho nutjob drivers (of which there are many), drive along that road at extremely fast speeds. Do NOT step out into that road before looking very carefully if there are any vehicles. I nearly got run over by one of the numerous lunatic drivers who was speeding at at least 100mph! I think the resort should cut back or even remove the bushes at the boundary of the resort so people can see more clearly any vehicles before they step onto the road. It's not the fault of the resort in any way, but totally the fault of the very worst, irresponsible, selfish, dangerous, psychopathic drivers in the world
