+ clean room + great sea view from room terrace + great location + comfortable and well appointed - check in felt rather rushed - whole place feels a little dated and worn

Hotel is very dated, needs a complete revamp. Patchy carpets, creaking furniture Too a long walk from central Douglas. Room only cleaned every 3 days, which seems odd. Overpriced.

This is a lovely hotel and firendly staff. However, it does need to be updated a bit. It was in a good location near the bus stop. Just parts of the hotel looked a bit dated.

It was just what we needed for a short break. The only complaint I had was the wi-fi, it was very hit and miss and with a teenage child it was very important!

The Best Western Palace Hotel is a good choice for those wanting a holiday in Douglas, with the ability to walk to various local attractions. The hotel has excellent and friendly staff, but the service is limited. Caution: They only service your room every third full day of your stay. For a hotel claiming to be 4 Star, this is insufficient. The rooms are comfortable and clean, with plenty of space in the King Size sea view rooms. The public areas could use a refresh, and in particular the carpets are old, old-fashioned and threadbare in parts. The hotel has access to two restaurants and two bars. We didn't use the Paragon Bar, which is attached to the restaurant of the same name. This restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. We only ate breakfast there, but were happy with both the buffet and a la carte service. The second bar is Looky's, a newly refurbished bar are with comfortable seating and a reasonable range of drinks at OK prices. My one complaint about this bar is that it reserved tables for people from outside the hotel. This was disappointing, as as hotel residents one would expect to be ably to find a comfortable seat in one's own hotel bar. The second restaurant is the majestic. This is a Chinese restaurant with access from the Promenade and the hotel. The food here was authentic Chinese and very good value for money. The staff were very friendly. We ate there twice in four nights.

Very good hotel with great sea views

Hotel is in a great location with all the amenities you would need however it’s very tired and in need of an update. They have started by the looks of it with a newly laid car park, new bar and a new area in the restaurant. I’m sure if they do the rest of the hotel to those standards it will be really nice

Staff are so lovely at this hotel and breakfast is amazing, plenty of variety. The room was comfortable.

The hotel itself was dilapidated, apart from Looky’s bar and the Fitness Club, which had clearly recently been modernised to a good standard. I didn’t go in the Casino but I suspect that this was plush. The dining room for Breakfast was crowded but the food was quite good. The rooms and the corridors were very tired and basic in decor and comfort. The shower was outdated and didn’t work well. The toilet did not flush easily. The bathroom was small and lacked sufficient room for showering and ablutions.

We where are from Friday until Monday morning with no cleaning of the room we had to keep asking for clean towels.

Rooms a little dated but location was good. Health suite was good with wonderful views across the bay from the pool

Great time!

Paid for breakfast, clear as day through the expedia app and confirmed vja online chat. Staff saying we cannot have it during check in. Meaning stress trying to contact expedia while on our trip.

our room was spacious with a great view, the bathroom was clean with the shower and bath taps easy to use .

The hotel was a great location along the prom, sea view room was excellent, lovely view. Hotel facilities were great 3 restaurants on site all reasonably priced. Would recommend and stay again. Only downside was the shower needs upgrading, presently via the taps, power shower would be great!

Overall a decent enough room with a comfy bed. The shower was temperamental and the hospitality tray sadly had cheap coffee..please move on… The restaurant however was the let-down. I’ve had better school dinners. Not asked whether I wanted to see a wine list, cafeteria style food (obviously frozen) and I sat next to a dirty and stained partition. Check in was chaotic as one girl had to battle a queue alone…she was very good but could have done with another member of staff at peak times

Had a great time at this best western , rooms very clean but a little tired, great breakfast , friendly staff love the new lookys bar. Overall a great place to stay ,will definitely return.

Signage for reception could be better. A notice on the wall into carpark and therefore pointer to reception at ground floor level would be useful.

property was tired and needs a makeover. I would not have stayed here under a normal circumstance but it was the only hotel on the island that did not have a 3 night minimum due to the TT.

Good friendly staff

The hotel is quite clean and the staff are lovely, however, it was very dated and could do with a facelift desperately. I stayed here for work and leisure over the course of 1 week. On the leisure side, i stayed on the 2nd floor which was soooooo noisy and seemed to have a range or range teenagers and music events going on till 3am. And the doors closing on each room was immense. Terrible nights sleep. But the large windows were lovely and the rooms had a lot of well thought out parts to it. The heat was an issue despite it being cold in April. And the WiFi was non existent at times. The receptionist advised "its just the way it is"! The second half of my visit I was on the 4th floor and the room was fractionally nicer / more spacious and quiet. Overall, it could be a lovely hotel, but it just very tired!

The bedroom was ok and relatively clean, but bathroom was tiny ad shower pressure was really low The Patio doors on to large flat roof didn't lock and therefore let a lot of the external sea and traffic noise in to the room. Wasn't reported as wasn't there long. Not somewhere i would choose to stay again.
