The Reef is a go to for us and we had a long stay. It’s a gorgeous area and the hotel is amazing. The staff is basically slow and laid back. They beat to their own drum and don’t get in a hurry about anything. If you are hoping for 5 star service like the rest of the world, you will be disappointed in the team and the service. But if you relax and realize it is a different culture and accept that it’s slow and sub par, you will have a great time and return again.

Hotel is too far from the Royal where everything is. Other than that and some useless front desk people the property and room was pristine. Bring ur wallet!

This was our third trip to the reef but after an underwhelming visit last year, we split our trip between here and the grand Hyatt to check it out this year. While the Reef beach is unbeatable, the hotel is showing its age. The carpets smell awful in the hallways and room. We were also disappointed to see they removed all shaded chairs from the pool and have not added umbrellas so there is now zero shade at the pool which makes no sense. I truly hope they update the property because it is sad for such a dated hotel to be sitting on this impeccable beach where you swim with fish and turtles and even saw a sting ray last year. We also hope to see more food options in the future as well.

The Reef is a wonderful hotel and we enjoyed our stay(s) immensely. In the interests of improving a few things, though, we'd ask that the hotel/Atlantis seriously update its WiFi abilities and put the WiFi on a secure network - we rarely had WiFi access in or around the hotel. Also, two different mornings we were awakened by TEST emergency alerts in our room that just kept going on and on (20 minutes each) and were extremely loud and annoying. Please limit the number of these tests and their duration, and be a bit more considerate about the hours when you run them.

It was a great vacation at the reef. Food is very pricey as usual. I did get the food plan to lower cost. However, if you are staying at the reef, the rooms come with stove top, refrigerator, microwave and a dish washer, so families have the option to cook on some days to lower food cost. The only other complaint is the mattresses. Sleep was uncomfortable most nights as the mattresses were very hard to lay on. I hope they switch them to more comfortable and newer mattresses soon. Otherwise, my family enjoyed the vacation.

Absolutely wonderful. The staff is so friendly and helpful. There is constant entertainment for adults and children. So much to do here you probably won’t be able to do everything for your stay and will make sure you stay longer next time. Being able to look at so much sea life was amazing. We stayed at the reef and the walk is about 13 minutes to the main lobby but we enjoyed the walks as a family and had so much to look at and enjoy on the way. Also, the walk is completely covered from the sun all the way through the resort it was perfectly designed. We do wish there were more food options if you were unable to get a reservation at one of the restaurants. It ended up being either pizza or shake shack - which is generally not what we would want to eat on vacation in the Bahamas.
