A lot of people are affected by the smell of lillies, me being one. The strong perfume from the big vase in the foyer was over-whelming. Also the room we stayed in had a very musty smell.

Gorgeous and unique historic guest house . Wonderful old building with character and charm , just a short stroll to Central Hobart . A yummy Nepalese pub/restaurant over the street . Host , John, bakes the most delicious biscuits and brekky is help yourself to a generous spread with nice coffee. Love Edinburgh House and Tassie .

Friendly and terrific location

Lovely old building with well appointed facilities and excellent breakfast. John is a great host. Our only problem was that we were in a room that faced a busy road and we could hear a lot of traffic noise.

Really dislike amenities down the hall.

Great value, within close and easy walking distance to cbd,docks and Salamanca Place.Well stocked communal kitchen that’s accessible 24 hours. John’s a great host too.

i have stayed here twice now and certainly the rooms with ensuites are the best. particularly if on ground floor. Breakfast is great and kitchen accessible all day. John as a host is friendly and helpful. Excellent location short 10-15 minute walk to downtown Horbart. Remember there are stairs so if difffiuclty maybe not for you.

Easy walking distance to town

Breakfast was simple but satisfying.

Room 4 is very loud - all night. Being right on the main road, and beside the lights, there is a constant ‘beeping’ which never stops for the pedestrian crossing button. Cars also accelerate from a standing start at the lights all night - particularly at 2am and 3am. Not a great night’s sleep.

Just travelling around Tasmania. Friendly owner. Loved our room in classic old building. Classic old building.

It was in a very accessible position, close to the city. Very clean with excellent continental breakfast choices. Especially appreciated the hot brewed coffee supplied each morning. A grand old home.

John the owner is brilliant. The house is amazing, full of his unique finds from travelling for decades. The communal kitchen is actually lovely, especially for solo travellers. He also had loads of books, dvds and games to peruse, I wish I could have stayed longer.

Room was fairly large and beds were comfortable. Shared bathroom means you’re in the basement and bathroom is three floors upstairs.

We had a good sized room with a very comfortable bed. John is a warm host and I would recommend staying at Edinburgh Gallery Bed an Breakfast.

Close to city central, many options for the food shop and accessible for walking

Loved this place and the manager John. yes I had to walk up 2 flights of stairs to the bathroom however that helped my fitness!!!!!....and I was also delighted with the little treats in the spotless kitchen.....almost a home away from home......FABULOUS stay

John is a friendly and affable host. Place is scrupulously clean. No cooked breakfast but good range of cereals, fruit, bread, Tasmanian yoghurts and honey, etc.

100 year old property with eclectic artworks and room themes. Rooms are grand and John (the owner) is extremely helpful and friendly.

100yr old colonial building. John has taken great care to preserve the heritage of the home as well as providing guests with thoughtful touches! Would love to come back and stay again.

Third time I’ve stayed here! Great host , great food and amenities very close to town . Taxi only $7 to town if you don’t want to walk !!

Lovely place to stay. Convenient to the city, beds are comfortable and the breakfast was simple but nice. Bathroom is small but clean. Great value for money.

Lovely bed & breakfast in a beautiful house with really kind and attentive staff. Clean and comfortable. Good showers and a great breakfast with fresh fruit from their garden!!

While the owner was nice enough, there was a bunch of black mould in the bathroom along with the dishes being washed by a disgusting sponge pad which we didn’t notice until after we ate. Didn’t notice the mould until the next morning as we were out all day after check in and got back at night. Brought up with owner who had no idea all the mould was even there, giving excuses that roof was replaced 3 months ago etc. Despite checking out a day early and feeling sick from the mould (felt better shortly after leaving the room/property) owner would not help with any refund of even the night we didn’t use. Luckily got a day back by calling expedia. Breakfast is just self-serve toast and cereal. I wasn’t expecting a lot for the price but at least shouldn’t have to stay in a property full of mould.

The host John was great. Even gave us access to the house after check out as we had a late afternoon flight.

Great friendly host and a look into the b&bs history is a must with the host Lord Daryl Morris
