Convenient place to lay my head en route from the Scillies, especially because the ferry had to run late because of poor weather.
Thank you.

The property, the quality of management, the staff and the food were all excellent. We were perhaps unfortunate in having a room with drawbacks: a lack of electric sockets - it was only possible to plug in the kettle on the floor, to plug in my laptop I had to unplug the phone,: the bathroom was cold - a huge single-glazed window that could not be closed completely, a very small towel rail radiatior that was barely on, nowhere by the basin to put anything (except the floor). Maybe it's the hotels.com problem: you get the worst room in the hotel if you book through hotels.com.

Loved the old school hotel feel. The recrptionist Martin was just so calm and gentle.

It's always a safe booking at the Queens. I know I will get a comfortable bed and friwndly staff. 24 hour bar and a good breakfast. I stay regularly for business.

Lovely view. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable environment for me as a solo traveller.

I enjoyed my stay in this old style hotel - the foyer and dining room were quite grand, perhaps more so in the past. The room was good and modern. Breakfast was ok, but as it was inclusive I can't complain. Sea front location, near to the town at a reasonable price.

Hotel is in a great location but is let down by tired condition. My room had a loose window that whistled all night in the wind, the old bathroom could have been cleaner, low hot water pressure. My friend’s room hadn’t been cleaned properly, still had rubbish from previous occupant behind the chair. It took 2 complaints over 2 days to be resolved but not satisfactorily. Housekeeping is every 3 days, not daily as Expedia says, we weren’t told this at check in. Staff are friendly but not as professional as I would expect for a large busy hotel. Restaurant staff gave me a jug of milk off a used table when I requested milk! Hotel is probably ok for an overnight stay but not longer. Free secure parking is great but it was a disappointing experience overall.

Beautiful old building. Nicely situated on the waterfront.

Hotel a bit tired, however my room itself looked more updated, especially the bathroom. Comfortable bed, no complaints about the room. Was able to park in the car park for four of my five nights and found parking easy enough nearby on the night I couldn't.
Only complaint was the food, it is dire. I had breakfast included but after the first day I didn't bothet again. The worst ever full English I've ever haf.

The staff were all lovely from the gentleman on reception, the girl at the bar and the staff at breakfast. The room was nice and clean. The bathroom looked nice and the shower was lovely. Lovely view of the sea from the breakfast room and the food was delicious. We enjoyed our stay.

A lovely old, nostalgic beachfront Hotel in Penzance, that’s been well looked after. It was very clean throughout. My room was clean, spacious, with a super comfy bed, plus a delightful view of the ocean. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and informative, plus!, there was Safe and secure parking, which was a bonus.

Nice old building echoing seaside holidays in years gone by. Room service only once every three days. No soap - and shower gel sufficient for only one shower - so take your own. Low water pressure in the shower, barely sufficient. Packed lunch in lieu of breakfast at £10-95 should be priced at under £4. Noisy gulls outside the window squaking all night. The staff are very nice and do their best.

Great hotel. Right on the ocean front.

Like the position and the view from the public rooms but found the bed to be the worst we slept in whilst touring Britain for 3 1/2 weeks

The hotel is showing its age BUT the staff truly shines. Everyone was just so terribly pleasant and helpful, making our stay memorable. Sometimes, you forget how kind people can be! THANK YOU !

429 pounds for 2 nights was a absolute rip off.
Place is in bad need of a total internal refurbishment including the staff.
Shower flow was a trickle but at least it was hot , rooms get serviced every 3 days!!!! But you can get a change of towels if you make a request at reception.
I blame Expedia for supporting this accommodation with the recommendations they supply.

My room was comfortable with an amazing view!! The entire facility was perfect for an historical seaside resort. Desk service was friendly and helpful.
Restaurant service was sadly poor.

Great sea view.
Terrible evening meal with 'fish of the day' swimming in fat and pavlova from cheap meringue case and no pistachio as described. Mostly chocolate chips normally for cooking, in synthetic cream and sickly sweet. Not enjoyable after a long journey. Would not eat in tha restaurant again.

Quite old and dated though clean and acceptable. Good location and views of the sea. Room was disappointing for the price paid. Staff friendly and helpful. Lots of stairs but there is a lift with access to most but not all the rooms. Would I stay there again? Probably not.

Old style hotel. Staff very helpful. Lift did not serve first floor but case carried up to room by lovely reception staff. Evening meal good. Acceptable cleanliness of room and bathroom.

Room was really hot. The bed was very uncomfortable. Over looking the car park which when you opened the window to let air in all you could hear were seagulls. ( I know nothing the hotel could do about that)
Room was a bit tired and really could do with modernization. One hell of a great shower though!!.

The location was superb, room fantastic view however the hotel inside needs some tlc. The carpet inside the lift was worn, the dining room ceiling was patched up; in my room the tiles surrounding the bath needed re grouting, the wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling away in the corners and the furniture in my bedroom was shabby and required revarnishing and the paintwork in my room needed touching up and the window frames needed cleaning. The bed through was the nicest bed ever, so comfortable. Staff were exceptionally friendly, breakfasts were adequate and location of the hotel and view from my bedroom was outstanding. If the Hotel could just correct some of these snags it would elevate it. It has everything going for it but it is a shame some minor imperfections are on show.

It was comfortable but very dated. Shower over bath poor. Small bed even though rooms large! Windows didn't fit so noisy.

Our 1st stay here. Nice room with sea view all nicely clean. The largest towel was not very large and that really is the only complaint.
All the staff were very attentive and helpful and the service from them was great.
A pleasure to have stayed and hopefully we will visit again sometime.
Some of the breakfast tables need to be available in the shade as even in February it was too hot sat there.

A little run down from the outside and internally in places but actually ok for an overnight stay.

Grand old building
Staff members particularly the breakfast staff were very friendly
Down side the mattress on my bed was as old as the building, I had springs sticking into me from all angles

Generally OK, rooms smaller than advertiised, old and tired furnishings and decoration. Staff OK, except for a lady at the bar who for some feast took a dislike to me, was very awkward regarding a meal order, and in the end my wife and I left and had drinks and a meal in a nearby pub. I note another person’s review highlighted rudeness in staff. I’m

Room was quite basic and shabby, but seemed to be clean.
No facility for a 'Do not disturb' sign if you wanted to stay in the room. However, the room was not cleaned in between the two nights I was there which I though was a little strange.
Good supply of tea/ coffee etc and plenty of complimentary bathroom stuff.
Bed was very creaky and I kept waking myself up whenever I turned over! Mattress was a little too hard for me - but that's a personal preference.
Good blackout curtains.
Staff very pleasant and helpful whenever approached.
Was a little surprised that rooms were not easily accessible when you had heavy suitcases. There was a lift, but then still lots of stairs to climb to get to the room - would put me off staying again unless I could be assured of an accessible room. I'm not disabled as such, but find it a real struggle to try and lug a heavy case up stairs like that.

Room not clean and needs to be updated

The room was very small very hot and the bed so small we took turns to sleep in it.
The first morning breakfast was fine. Day two we waited 45 minutes for breakfast to arrive. Day three my breakfast was cold and I couldn’t, eat it. Cold scrambled egg turns me off any offer of anything else.

Despite being a 3 star hotel it was clean, a little dated, pa basic breakfast and a good evening meal, my room wasn’t too expensive despite being a single person. Staff were nothing but helpful and polite
