Close to uni perfect place to stay so can walk

One night stay with friends. If you like very basic rooms you’ll be fine here. It served a purpose for us but I wouldn’t return with my wife and family.

Functional clean room, no complaints

The parking arrangements are not adequately explained when booking (booked via Expedia) and so I have been informed I will likely receive a £60 parking fine. Staff were not at all helpful and did not try at all to help with the issue, if anything the reception staff were rude and very abrupt. Definitely will not be booking here again.

all good. decent room, bigger than expected. very comfy bed everything i needed for a one night stay would go again (only small negative was cleanliness could have been a bit better, there were a few stray hairs in shower/sink area)

I liked the whole staff and in particular Tina, they were really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was really good nice with a good choice.

First time staying at an Ibis budget. We booked 3 rooms for an overnight springboard to Paultons Park the next day. The rooms are very small and basic with no private bathroom. Our room felt quite hot and claustrophobic. There is what looks like an AC unit, but all it does is loudly blow warm air. Both beds were comfortable and our little girl loved the bunk bed. The breakfast facilities were reasonable and had a variety of options. The staff were all very friendly and room reasonably clean, but not spotless. However, some of the other patrons left us feeling a little uncomfortable, including a shirtless gentleman roaming the foyer and when opening the window being greeted with strong cigarette ?weed smoke. On the listing it says parking available, but there is minimal parking outside the hotel and we had to park a short trek away, which wasn’t convenient trying to negotiate a child and luggage. There are no tea and coffee facilities in the room, so after a long drive we had to settle for tap water and a paper cup. I think if you need a cheap room for the night it’s worth considering, however for over £100 per night (albeit including breakfast) when we stayed we were underwhelmed with the experience. I think for that price I would at least expect a kettle in the room. I’m sorry Ibis but I don’t think we’ll be returning as would rather pay the extra for the creature comforts and a more family friendly facilities.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Only negatives are parking and the price was a bit much when compared to other hotels of higher standard.

As a couple arriving without a car, it was nice that the train station was quite close, and it was possible to walk to the beaches d port in Southsea and Portsmouth. It's a budget hotel, so naturally it's quite basic. However, as we as tourists intended to be outside the whole day and only use the room for sleep and luggage storage, it fitted our purpose. We didn't have a good colaboration with the air-conditioning, but we didn't ask. The breakfast is also plain, but sufficient and possible. The bed felt as a if a heavy weight has bended it a bit down. However, the room was clean and the soap nice. Usually I don't use a TV when on a vacation, but it was nice to be able to keep up with the Olympics. It was nice that it was possible to microwave (in the reception) food bought from nearby supermarkets. Kind and helpful staff, and we were able to store our luggage when we arrived earlier. All in all, we're content.

It was a lovely place to stay - the reception staff were always so helpful, and I wish I had have taken names, because the ones that helped us were super helpful!

Clean and convenient

The Hotel is in a good location. The staff at this Hotel put their customers first. They are friendly and helpful at all times. I did not like that I had to park a few mins walk away but in the end it worked well. Dont park in the bays opposite the electric chargers as they are for Subway customers ....have cameras..and you will get a fine.

Great place for an overnight stay clean and shower and bed where very good room even had air con.

Seriously fed up.the house keeping staffs are so irritating.they stole our stuffs.we found something missed our things and we asked to the management.but they didn't give a proper answers.management try to hide these kind of activities.really unsafe.we never ever experienced these type of management.really annoying

For a basic hotel it does the job if you just want a bed for the night however bookings.com advertised the room as having air conditioning which it doesn’t. If we had know before booking then we would have found alternative accommodation given the temperatures on the day. Rooms are pokey but it is a budget hotel! The family room with bunk bed above is designed for children aged 6 and over. This is also not detailed on the accommodation details. Breakfast is basic continental but kids eat free. Staff were very friendly and accommodating which was a bonus.

Tina the receptionist was amazing. Made our stay. So helpand knowledgeable for local area
