I booked 2 nights at this property from September14-16, 2023. I couldn't stay at the property because of the smoke stench that greeted me upon entry. For a non-smoker, it wasn't appealing. To paint a picture, it felt like I was entering a crackhouse from the movies, with the stench and the number of people that I saw congregating and gisting at the lobby as I entered. To paint another picture, after spending 1 hour in the house, stepped outside and my clothes was smelling of the same smoke stench for the rest of the evening. I had to book another hotel and go for a good scrub and change of clothes. I thought I'd discount this smell and crowd and proceeded to the room, which was alright sized with lock and keys. Bed was squeaky and not the most comfortable but manageable. I could hear people's phones playing from the next room and downstairs, people laughing, gisting, and generally noisy. Not what you want if you want to rest/sleep after a long day, or even study as was in my case. The house was overcrowded for a 3+1 converted bedroom house. I tried to ease myself in the toilet and had to wait for an hour because there was a queue of 5 people ahead of me. The toilet was downstairs past the kitchen at the back. I didn't feel safe in the house with the people I met there, coupled with the smell. Anything could be happening there. I wasn't even comfortable leaving my properties there, even with the lock and keys to the rooms. I tried to contact the host, and he's yet to respond, even at the time of leaving this review. Contacted booking.com, who responded straight away and asked the host to refund my money, yet the host hasn't responded. Zero customer service or duty of care for his tenants. In all, I spent 1 hour at the house, and as I couldn't stand the smell, noise and general arrangement, went out to sit in my car and came back in again couple of hours later hoping the situation will have changed.

Nothing, as I was moved to alternative accommodation which had almost none of the services mentioned here.

The accommodation that I was moved to, with less than an hour's notice, was absolutely filthy and creepy, with none of the services I paid for. The shower didn't work, it injured my hand and scalded me, and water flooded the bathroom as the plug was blocked. Creepy handprints all over the walls., a foul stench, and no plates, cutlery or cups. Limescale in the kettle made the water undrinkable, and there was so much dust in the bedroom that it triggered an asthma attack. The bedsheets were damp, people from the house were looking in the bedroom window so I had to keep the curtains closed, and there was no hairdryer, TV, or tea and coffee service as stated on the original accommodation.
