Top rate front desk staff, updated public areas, great gym/pool/sauna. The Grill Room was wonderful for dinner - food, ambience, and service. Conversely, the breakfast (a la carte) was easily the worst meal we had during our entire trip. Very off brand for the hotel.. One opportunity - offer softer (down/down alternative) pillows as an alternative. Overall - great stay, neighborhood, views

The River Lee Hotel is a short walk to the University College Cork. Also near by, along the Lee River, is Fitzgerald Park and a pedestrian bridge you can take to get to the Cork City Gaol. In the opposite direction, it’s a short walk from the hotel to the English Market. I did not get breakfast at the hotel. There are dozens of coffee shops near the hotel where you can get pastries as well. The hotel restaurant, The Grill Room, is excellent. We had the fillet but the best part of the meal was the desserts. They out did themselves with the desserts. I had peaches and cream and my daughter had sticky toffee pudding. They were marvelous. There is a large underground parking garage that is shared with other facilities. The garage entrance was a bit tricky to find because it is not next the hotel entrance. I had to go to the hotel front desk to get directions to the garage entrance. Once in the garage, you double back until you’re parking near the hotel elevators. When I booked this hotel, I asked for a walk-in shower (aka a shower stall). I emphasized that I did not want a combination shower/tub. What I got was an accessible room, complete with a wheel-chair accessible shower. So, I cannot review what a typical room is like. I can say that our room was quiet and clean.

Lovely hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We were traveling from the states and arrived earlier than our check-in time. The hotel was able to accommodate our request for an earlier check in which was welcome news for two weary travelers. The hotel restaurant was very good. Highly recommend this place.

Staff was very helpful and approachable. Within walking distance of city center. Very clean and the restaurant was very nice. Had a great trip and would stay again. Helena at the front desk was lovely and gave us great recommendations.

We had an amazing view from our room and Gabriella was fantastic. The gym connected to the hotel was a pleasant surprise. The hotel restaurant and bar were fantastic. Plenty of walkable cafes and pubs close by.

Great location, walkable to many pubs, restaurants, and shopping. Upscale and clean hotel with very accommodating staff.

Ryan on the front desk was amazing; hook care of all minor issues. Kudos also to Denis for supporting us with safe problems.

Outside of hotel and lounge areas are the nicest part of the hotel. Carpet throughout each floor is pretty gross, needs replaced. Rooms are average, nothing too great about them aside from water pressure being really great in shower/bathtub.

We had an excellent two-night stay at The River Lee Hotel in August 2024. The facilities are fantastic and the location is perfect with just a short walk to the best bars and cafes in Cork.
