We were greeted by a lovely friendly receptionist who quickly checked us in and showed us to our room.
The room was large and comfortable with a seating area and a raised bed area. The bed was large and comfortable with lovely linen and very comfortable. The bathroom had a separate shower and a bath and the toilet was separate which was really nice.
We had a fridge which was handy and the TV was by the bed and was easily positioned towards the bed.
The room overlooked the garden and was very peaceful. It was too cold to sit outside though there was a table and chairs if we had wanted to do so.
The hotel is in the heart of the Cite and is close to lots of bars and restaurants. At this time of the year (late November) not all are open and some are only open on certain days or times so choice is smaller for eating in the evening but we found that the food was good at all the places we chose.
We were very happy with our stay this being our 4th stay at this hotel and this was definitely the best room we have had at this hotel. We will no doubt be staying here again and really recommend this hotel

Lovely staying in the castle but was tricky finding food in the morning if you didn’t want to go with hotel Continential breakfast. Service, hotel and location were excellent. Room was comfortable and bathroom was a good size for a hotel.

The opportunity to stay in a quiet, beautifully-renovated, convenient hotel with a superb ambience was wonderful. The staff was very helpful, the room large and well-equipped, and the situation in this beautiful city was perfect. Thank you!

The Hotel le DonJon is an ideal base within the walls of the medieval city!
The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very professional. David met us in the parking lot right outside the walls, and drove us and our luggage to the hotel. The fellow at the front desk was also excellent. ( I apologgize for not getting his name.)

Very good hotel, situated perfectly to explore the old city. Room was excellent and staff very friendly. Secure parking very easy to find and baggage service to and from hotel is really useful

We loved our stay. The garden room was cozy and private. The front desk gal walked me to the room and carried my backpack. So sweet! The breakfast was very good. I definitely recommend the Donjon❤️

Old rooms - our two superior double rooms were not as in the pictures, one even in an old annex - unfriendly and unhelpful staff - hotel past its best time

Well located, beautiful historic building. The room was quite basic, but fine. Site staff was very kind and friendly. But I missed the amenities that a 4-star hotel should have (toothbrush, shower cup....).

The two staff members we engaged with were incredibly kind, helpful and understanding, going beyond what would be expected in order to help us. Even though they were busy, they did not act as if they were busy, but gave us all the time we needed.

The hotel is conveniently located within the walled city. You can walk out of the hotel and access the restaurants and UNESCO heritage site. Other than the location and breakfast, the hotel service left much to be desired.
They misadvertize the family room for four with 2 doublebeds. The second bed is a sofa bed (should clearly state that). On our arrival, while the sofa bed was pulled out, there were no sheets, blanket or comforter. We had to call late at night to request.
When our train was late, I messaged the hotel. They didn't respond or acknowledge till a day later. The front desk person would not make a dinner reservation for us on arrival and requested that we walk around. When he told us that we will not be able to get into the restaurant next door because of time (without even trying), we were able to walk in and request a table. Overall, very disappointing service by the front desk.

great location. We recommend using their paid private parking just outside the city walls; it worked well. Interesting lobby with old books and board games. We had fun playing the board game Carcasonne in Carcasonne. We recommend staying in old city so you can wander around at night when few people are there.
