The city is beautiful, but the hotel would not get this high rating being located anywhere else. I am normally focusing on the positive, but I think it is better for guest to know what to expect, rather than being disappointed. Positive: perfect location in the middle of the beautiful small town San Gimingnano Else: Uncomfortable bed, flat and hard pillows. Absolutely nothing extra/ more than necessary, like an extra pillow, a bag of tea etc. The breakfast is low in quality, worst so far on our Italy-trip. In total it didn’t feel like they are trying to create comfortable stays, or a place guest should want to return to. Felt as they had given up somehow. You will “survive” one night, and a ok option in San Gimingmano (as it is a very small place), but this is not a hotel to relax and enjoy a weekend or so. I can see that some reviews complains about the parking: the city is on UNESCOS world heritage list. This is a city everyone needs to park outside the city walls when visiting. That is not the hotels fault.

The staff were amazing..breakfast fresh and varied

Our room looked over the main square of San Gimignano. We loved it. Very nice room. Excellent breakfast in a lovely terrace.

This hotel is located in the direct center of a San Gimignano Our room overlooked the Piazza della Cisterna with towers in the backround. Absolutely stunning.

One of the best experiences! Great room in old style, a terrace to be used, even with a whirlpool. Outstanding, in tje very heart of San Gimignano. Best location and very friendly staff, especially Lisa.

There is a 400 meter walk (10-15 minutes) from where the bus lets you off to enter this town. Staff was pleasant. Room was clean with plenty of space for the 4 of us. Well located for restaurants and shopping. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely historic hotel in the center of San Gimignano. Everything was very clean and fully stocked. Check in was a breeze. This hotel is in the heart of San Gimignano, a precious Medieval small city with major attractions! We are so happy that we decided to stay here.

The location was in the center of the historic town, near restaurants, shops, and sites. The room and its view with the amenities exceeded our expectations. The best placed we stayed on our trip.

Nice hotel in town center. We did not have a car so parking was not an issue. We moved to this hotel from our luxury accommodations outside of SG because of it’s proximity to so many more things to do. We liked it enough to consider a return.

The only problem, they double charged my son-in-law and daughter’s credit card for breakfast. Need to check mine and see if they did the same thing to us.
