Beautiful cabin that felt more like a home than a rental. Owners thought of everything with a well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. They did a beautiful job of preserving an old cabin with its charm but adding modern comforts. The back and kayaks were wonderful and we spent a lot of time sitting in the chairs on the dock.

This property had everything we needed for our trip away, and more. Full kitchen, water safety vests, down to s’more sticks. Will come back!

Very quiet and beautiful. The VRBO app wasn’t working well so text messages worked much better. No fault of the property owner, just the actual VRBO app.

We had a wonderful week at the cabin. Fully stocked with everything we needed, clean, comfortable. Beautiful location and lake. Spent days on/in the lake and a fun day at Silverwood. We would def recommend and hope to be back!

We really enjoyed our visit. The cabin is rustic but very comfortable and clean. The one bathroom only was hard at times BUT we spent lots of time enjoying the outdoors and local water park. The location, private dock, water toys and fully loaded kitchen made up for it. I can't say enough about the location. It was so easy to get to everything we wanted to do. The hosts are also super helpful and very nice. FYI. All bedrooms have doors and even with a walk through bedroom we had very comfortable sleeping arrangements. We will be back next summer!

This is wonderful location, comfy beds, great kitchen. The deck has great views! However, the cabin floors were uneven, rough and slanted. Our child cut her foot on the rough cement in front of the fireplace. The steps leading down into the kitchen were, again, uneven and poorly marked.Fortunately no one cut their foot on the 15 or more rusty nails we picked up off the beach. The water pressure in the shower was so low it was impossible to rinse one's hair. The water in the washer was hot even though the dial said cold/cold. I contacted the owner about the water issues early in our stay. I heard from them three days after I checked out. My advice--go to TwinLakes! But book another spot.

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin, but it was definitely more rustic than we expected.
The good: the dock, provided kayaks and the lake view are superb. The house is well stocked with basics! We spent as much time as possible outside and on the dock. The kids swam and swam and swam, the parents enjoyed the dock chairs.
We were told by the owners a few days before arrival that water pressure was a known issue. It was nearly impossible to shower with the trickle of water coming from the shower. Not the owners fault, but made the stay less comfortable for sure. I didn’t know (or perhaps didn’t read details) that one of the bedrooms is a walkthrough room which made using the bathroom at night challenging, as you are trying not to wake the people in the walkthrough room up. Again, not the owners fault but I guess I didn’t pay close enough attention.
Overall we all enjoyed our stay and feel completely refreshed!

We had a great time, the cabin was fun and had great charm. The location was excellent and the lake was great for swimmingly, and kayaking with provided boats. A nice way to unwind at the end of summer.

We had an amazing week on the lake. Beautiful, quiet (much quieter than surrounding lakes), and relaxing. We loved the dock, kayaks, and deck and spent most of our time outside on the lake, watching eagles and osprey, or reading in the shade. The hosts and property manager were great and answered all of our questions. If you are looking for extreme luxury, this cabin is not for you. If you are looking for an amazing setting and a beautiful, rustic cabin that still has all the comforts of home, this place is for you!

Family vacation
The house is in an excellent location right on the lake and 20 minutes from Silverwood. It is an original cabin to the area meaning it is a log cabin that has been retrofitted for plumbing etc. an addition has been added for the kitchen and dining. The floors are uneven, the majority of the original cabin windows are sealed shut and the layout is awkward. The entrance goes to the bedrooms and you must pass through the second bedroom to access the kitchen or bath. The outdoor space is incredible and the dock is amazing. However, there is a church camp 2 doors up which has multiple boats speeding around causing wakes and waves that almost make it impossible to enjoy the dock or swim off the beach. I really feel bad for all of the neighbors who have to tolerate this everyday. The home is well maintained and suited for extended stays. The property manager is fantastic and the owner was responsive in reasonable time. The contract states you are supposed to meet with the cleaner to get the key and contact info will be sent prior to your reservation. This needs updated. After reaching out before my departure I was informed a lockbox is on the property. I’m not sure I would have been provided the code had I not reached out first. In planning travel it would be nice to know an additional stop at a last minute location isn’t needed. Overall I would say it was a great stay and the children thoroughly enjoyed the home.

Charming cabin
We spent a week at this lovely, rustic cabin and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Surprisingly spacious with comfortable beds, and a very well stocked kitchen that allowed us to prepare alot of meals.
Beautiful view of the lake from kitchen and deck/yard area, we spent most of our time there or on the beach.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to return.

Vintage Cabin in great setting.
Our three generation family thoroughly enjoyed our time in this historic, well-equipped cabin. Children had great fun fishing from dock. Catherine the property manager was outstanding; super responsive and helpful. Dock was unstable in rough water conditions, but owner will address.

Excellent lake cabin
We loved our stay on Twin Lakes. Pristine lake that was great for kayaking, open water swimming and fishing. Our boys caught several bass right off the dock. We stayed during an unusual heat wave so the lake was ideal during the day. It was a little hot to sleep this week but I suspect typically that would not be an issue. The cabin is charming snd the kitchen is perfect for family meals. We would love to come back.

Excellent log cabin getaway by the lake
The cabin is comfortable and well equipped cabin by the lake. The view was beautiful and just what I wanted for my vacation. Catherine was very helpful with everything I had questions about. I was very happy with my stay there and would come back in a heart beat, maybe next summer.

Cozy cabin in a beautiful setting
What a wonderful place to relax and get away. The cabin is nicely appointed and the dock quickly became the favorite place to hang out, swim, and watch the boaters go by. Love this place.

Location, location, location. If you’re looking for a place where you can sit on the deck, drink coffee and wine all while enjoying an amazing lake view, this is your place. Want to spend the day kayaking or fishing from your private deck, just 50 yards from your cabin front door, this is your place. We can’t wait to return next year but for longer!

A wonderful getaway in a great cabin
We enjoyed our week in Frances’ and Alan’s cabin so much, it really exceeded our expectations. Cabin was very clean and well-stocked. We cooked every meal there and had everything we needed to do so. They have a good selection of knives, always important for cooks. We were a family of three and it was very spacious for us. The set up (a walk through bedroom) would make it somewhat less private for more than one family. There was one raft there that we used every day, we should have brought a couple more with us, we recommend that for floating around the dock. We loved using the kayaks every morning to explore the lake. We heard a bit of road noise in the mornings during the week, and boat / sea doo noise during the afternoon / evenings but otherwise was very quiet, and the noise is what you’d expect at the lake. We don’t have a boat and didn’t feel like we needed one to enjoy the lake all week long. Also, both the owners and the folks who clean & leave the key were very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend this rustic cabin for a relaxing getaway on the water.

Perfect Stay!
Really enjoyed everything about the property. The boys caught tons of different species of fish right off the dock. Cabin was everything as described and had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Met great neighbors too! Would come back in a heart beat.

Comfortable cabin on lower Twin Lakes
We really enjoyed our stay here. The living spaces are very comfortable and roomy. The air conditioner is so nice for hot summer days! This cabin was great for our family of 4. One bedroom you need to either walk through to get to the other ones or walk around outside to get to the other bedrooms. We just had our son in there and he didn’t care of some walked though his room. The kitchen is huge and fun to prepare your meals in! We would love to stay here again.

Beautiful family cabin
All good, except finding the key. Luckily the neighbor knows owner, called and gave us code for lock box with key. The stated contact person was nowhere to be found through week stay.

Fantastic Place & Fabulous Hosts...
I was pleasantly surprised and frankly a bit nervous when I could book this place last minute. Any trepidation evaporated the moment we arrived. The structure, lake and location were exactly as described, with the Cabin clean and fully stocked with everything that we could possibly need. There was even a fully stocked spice drawer and paper products. The pellet BBQ and smoker was fully loaded and got quite a workout while we were there, as we slow cooked/smoked some meaty, thick tri-tip steaks that came out soooo good. The lake is just a short walk down the hill and the beach is gently sloped with gravelly sand and the water was warm and clear. The boat launch that we used (there are multiple) was just down the road and never crowded. We had no problem launching our SeaDoos and securing them at night to the brand new dock at the cabin. The Hosts Alan and Fran could not have been more welcoming and hospitable. This is their vacation home and it is filled with touches that made it seem so personal that I feel like I now know them as friends. One of the most notable was the door frame from the original cabin, with the names, dates and thoughts of previous vacationers that dated back to the 1920’s. It was truly amazing to hear those echoes from the past and imagining the fun that THEY were having in the exact same location. We love the area around Twin Lakes and Rathdrum and always enjoy how friendly and genuine the folks are that live around there. Not once did someone drive, walk or boat on by without saying hello or waving...such a stark contrast to what we get here at home, the infamous “Seattle Freeze”. As someone originally from northern California, The lousy weather and the “Freeze” are both things that are motivating us to someday relocate to north Idaho....where the people are genuinely friendly, the weather is fabulous and the speed limit is 70 mph. It doesn’t get better than that! We will definitely be back again next year and plan on making it an annual trip, so in a hundred years maybe somebody hears the echo of our voice as they read our names and thoughts on the cabin door frame.
