Stayed there overnight for flight connection in the morning. The interior is pretty clean and the location is superb. The staff are nice and enthusiastic but some of them are not as adept. There is a 7-11 downstairs in case you're caught by hunger in the middle of the night.

Small space for despite the bed size is acceptable for two. We could hardly open up our suitcases. The bathroom at the same time is too big and not enough heater inside.

The location was convenient for me personally, but there was little in the immediate area that justified the extra expense. That said, the property itself is clean and elegant, the elevators were super fast and I never had to wait, staff were great, attentive, and helpful. The room was very comfortable and quiet. DIY laundry facilities were convenient, but I have to wonder what my experience might have been if the hotel were more fully booked at the time, given that there were only two sets of washer and dryers. Air conditioning was fast, quiet, and very fine-tunable. Bed/bedding was VERY nice.

I can't fault the hotel too much for the breakfast as the buffet was closed due to Covid concerns, but their alternative was a "lunchbox" that cost the same as the full buffet and was extremely substandard. I understand Taipei is an expensive town, but paying nearly US$10 for a tiny salad and a slice of french toast is something I would have skipped had I known what I was in for. At the very least, they could have offered options, but as it was they didn't even tell me what I was getting aside from the coffee I ordered as opposed to juice--in a normal breakfast I would have gotten both. The refrigerator in the room was terrible. I left drinks in it for over 12 hours and they were barely below room temperature. The lighting was dim--nice ambiance, but I had a lot of reading to do, and the only place I could see clearly was sitting at the desk hunched under the lamp. When I tried to shave in the morning I could barely see my face, and when I leaned closer I actually cut off what light there was because the tiny single low-power LED was set near the door, away from the mirror. There was an interesting sound system that I might have made use of if I were in the habit of carrying audio CDs with me while traveling, or a usb stick preloaded with my favorite mp3s--have they heard of Bluetooth? Accoutrements like that in my view provide an excuse to charge more for an "amenity" that nobody will ever use. The shower had great water pressure, but unfortunately I couldn't open it up all the way because the mounting arm was loose and the shower head would recoil if I didn't cut the stream to half power. All told I spent 2x or more for a room that basically didn't offer anything more than other options in the area had there been vacancies on the dates I needed.
