Sobre este casaalquiler
Charming Barn-Hathersage - Private Off Road Parking -Stunning Views & Mill Pond

We (myself + 2 kids) had a lovely 3 night stay at the barn. Bal & James were so friendly and helpful, which was particularly appreciated after a long drive. The barn itself was cosy & clean - it had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. We found it was a great location for going into Sheffield but far enough out to enjoy the beautiful countryside. We hope to return!

I stayed for 2 nights with my son. The location is perfect for all the hikes. The place was spotlessly clean and just a wee gem of a place with beautiful views. The owners James and Bal are wonderful people, very helpful and accommodating. We will stay there again for sure, loved this wee place.

This was our second visit to the cottage, this time for a full week. It is very comfortable, clean, and has a well-equipped kitchen. The location is amazing, and we were able to do three good hikes right from the front door, where it was pretty much just us, the sheep, and the buttercups! No crowds of tourists; great, quiet lodgings close to several good pubs and restaurants. It's a short drive to the super interesting 1666 plague village of Eyam, as well as to the Chatsworth estate and their wonderful farm store. We cannot recommend this rental enough and hope to return!

We loved this lovely cottage so much. We were only here for a couple of nights over Easter, but loved every minute. A short walk from the centre of the village, across the road from a a pub with fab food (and beer!), and walks in every direction from the front door. We were instantly relaxed when we walked through the door. A perfect place for R&R and recovering from those long walks/food and beer across the road (delete as appropriate!).
Our hosts Bal and James were great, easy communication and on site if needed. Great chatting with James to find out what the future holds for the old trout farm. Very exciting plans and look forward to seeing them develop……
Will most definitely be returning.
Quickly!

Gorgeous weekend in the Peaks
This cottage is a perfect location for a holiday in the Peaks. Such easy access from the train stations, meaning you can explore the whole of the Peak District. We walked straight from the cottage to Edale and then got the train back. All the local pubs are divine too! The hosts are so friendly and helpful, can't recommend this cottage enough!

The property was exceptionally clean and well kitted out. A lovely bottle of wine made a very thoughtful gesture. The bed and linen was some of the best we’ve stayed in. James was very welcoming providing really lovely accommodation. Ample car parking facilities available.

Pond View cottage ideally situated for walking in the Peak District.
Lovely, cosy cottage, ideal for a couple .Cute outdoor balcony area, right next to a private pond, where you could sit with a cup of coffee or to eat a meal.
This is an ideal location for walkers, as you can go on walks direct from the cottage, without needing the car, and the town with its various eateries is only 15 minutes walk away. There is also 1 pub/restaurant directly opposite the cottage.

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely cottage in September. It was perfect for two, the cottage is so beautiful, cosy, very clean and had everything we needed. The layout is good with kitchen / living area upstairs. The bedroom downstairs is spacious and is next to a lovely bathroom with great shower. We used the outside storage for our bikes. The cottage is in a perfect location to explore the Peak District, Stanage Edge is very close by. We did lots of Peak walks, there are walks from the door. We would recommend nearby Longshaw Estate too, it is National Trust but non-members only pay for parking.Just opposite the cottage is The Plough, good for food, drinks of course or even just for a coffee. There are a choice of restaurants, pubs and a few shops down the road in Hathersage, a 15 min walk. We would recommend the Scotsman pub for food too.James and Bal were welcoming and provided good information on walks etc. before our stay. They are on hand if you need anything but not intrusive at all, just happy to help and say what is around to do.We are so pleased we stayed at the cottage and definitely would again.

Fabulous
We were greeted upon arrival by James who was sure to give us all the information we should need about the property. He was also very helpful in letting us know what we could do around the area come both sun and rain. We were put right at ease from the get go and were assured we could ask anything we needed be it about the property or local area. Before our arrival we were given a list of places to eat and walks we could do which was very helpful. The property was very clean and modern, everything fresh and well decorated. This property is highly recommended with walks right on the doorstep!

Fantastic base for walking in the Derbyshire Dales. Very comfortable compact well equipped cottage.
Owners fantastic so helpful from the outset. We had a great week exploring the local area and loved returning each evening to Pond View. Nearby Hathersage and local pub make it so easy to self cater. Would recommend without hesitation.

The highlight of our UK trip!
We stayed in five different locations during our recent UK vacation, and our time in Derbyshire was the highlight! The cottage was comfortable, quiet, and the kitchen was well-stocked. What a pleasant surprise to find wine, coffee, chocolate and milk from our hosts! (My waistline is not thanking you for introducing us to that chocolate, though, which we bought several other times along the way!) The shower was divine and the king bed very comfortable. We took the hike to Stanage from the cottage--the longest route option, of course--and the scenery was breathtaking. Chatsworth House was amazing and we wished we had set aside an entire day to explore the house and extensive grounds. The Ploughman's Inn--right across the street--was fantastic and just what we needed after a long day of driving and touring. We definitely plan to return to the area and would stay in the cottage at Hathersage, without hesitation! Thank you, Bal and James, for your hospitality!

Great location for exploring the Peaks. The cottage is small and quiet which we loved, about 1km outside Hathersage (a nice walk in). Good facilities meant we had everything we needed for the stay and the owners kept in touch to make sure we had everything e needed.

Perfect
Lovely little cottage, beautifully restored and furnished. Very friendly and helpful owners and a generous welcome pack of fresh laid eggs from their own hens, milk, chocolate bars, tea and good ground coffee, and a bottle of wine. Everything in the cottage is of good quality, the bed is comfortable and plenty of cooking equipment for self-catering. Easy walk to Hathersage for a choice of eating and the Plough across the road from the cottage does good food too. Walks straight from the door. A perfect choice for two people.

Excellent well located small cottage
A fabulous small quirky well thought out and nicely furnished cottage. Great location, just a short walk into Hathersage. The close proximity of the main road wasn't really an issue as it is set far enough back and we didn't really notice it too much. Some great walks up to Abney and across to Eyam Moor as well as along the River Derwent or up to Stanage Edge, so no need to use your car if you don't want to. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay here again.

Such a super find! A beautifully presented quirky cottage. Fully equipped will all you could need. Fabulous welcome from the owners. Couldn't recommend highly enough. The location is ideal, and so close to many of the Peak Didtricts treasures.
I will definitely rebook in the future.

Perfect for us!
This delightful, quiet and interesting cottage was our base for a week in June. It was spotlessly clean and well maintained and the location was ideal for visiting the RHS Chatsworth flower show and seeing around the magnificent countryside. The cottage has three pretty outside sitting areas including a little furnished balcony at the top of the staircase where we enjoyed the view, the gentle sound of water, and the wine left for us by our lovely hosts. Two other sitting spots overlook the pond, one with a table and chairs, and the other, my favourite, is a benched nook beside the water where the plentiful bird life can be observed. The cottage is neatly and cleverly furnished eg there is good storage space in the bedroom, with a large wardrobe (and real wooden coat hangers...not those ghastly 'do not steal me' two part things which are hotel favourites) and the up to date bathroom has 2 useful mirrored cabinets. The shower is spacious and effective and there is constant hot water throughout the cottage. The welcome from James and Bal was warm and friendly and we were treated to complimentary goodies on arrival - eggs, milk etc - so we did not have to shop until after breakfast. The local Hathersage shops stocked all that we needed and a great discovery (within walking distance from the cottage) was the David Mellor museum and cafe which served perfect coffee and indulgent cakes as well as light lunches. James also showed John, my husband, around the trout farm and, typical of her kindness, Bal provided me with wellies as the weather was very wet and the ground at Charsworth muddy. All in all, this bijou cottage (with its state of the art TV/DVD/radio combo, had we needed it) suited us perfectly (kitchen equipment and electric and microwave ovens and fridge with freezer compartment, were all most useful). We also slept brilliantly in the extra large bed. Thank you to our lovely hosts for all that they did to make our stay memorable for all the right reasons!

Fantastic cottage!
A wonderful few days at this gorgeous little cottage. The owners are extremely helpful and most welcoming. Such lovely surrounding places to visit - all in all I would thoroughly recommend this holiday accommodation - ideal for a couple. We will definitely consider returning at some point in the future! Thank you James & Bal.

Quaint and in a lovely location
We had a lovely stay at this cottage. It was small but had everything we needed and it was in the perfect location, a walk away from the village of Hathersage. We really enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere at the Plough Inn and ate there a few times - how convenient being just across the road! We also loved the food at the Indian restaurant in town. The walks in this area were the highlight of our stay. It is so beautiful everywhere you look. Bal and James were great hosts. I would easily recommend this cottage to anyone.

Peaceful and charming cottage
Just outside of town and withing easy walking distance, this cottage has a beautiful view and location. Everything worked perfectly and amenities were nice, and facilities clean. Owner was very nice and helped us with country walk routes, restaurants, etc. Area is beautiful for walking, so enjoyed a couple of those, Sudeley Castle and Gardens, and Snowshill Manor (very interesting). Recommend.

Cosy cottage for couples
Pond view cottage is a cosy and well equipped apartment perfect for a country getaway. My girlfriend and I couldn't believe our luck when the cottage was available over New Years as we were looking to have a quiet one this year. Bal and James were fantastic hosts, from communication via email, to picking us up from the train station as we did not have a car. James gave us a quick tour of Hathersage which is a beautiful rural town with coffee shops, restaurants and some great pubs of which James can advise brilliantly. The town is about a 10/15 min casual walk from the cottage, which is also opposite another lovely pub. Inside the cottage is very well furnished with attention to detail and a great use of space. The upstairs kitchen/lounge has all the mod cons, and a floor heater which was great whilst cooking. The cooker and oven is a great size and all the utensils and cleaning products you will need are provided. The tv, Bluetooth speaker and WiFi were a nice touch and meant that there was plenty to do whilst in the cottage. Also provided are a range of leaflets and guides for walks in the area which were very useful. We enjoyed the local Indian takeaway, took a walk in the Peak District and visited Chatsworth house. All in all a perfectly restful yet exciting place to go away which we would very much recommend.
