Pleasantly surprised after reading reviews. It is what it is - an old hotel that hasn't had any upgrades & prob waiting to get knocked down.
Didn't use kitchen at all due to it being so old, and a bit unkempt. Lounge was also a sofa bed so not overly comfy as a lounge, lucky we didn't need the sofa bed!!

We were allowed in slightly earlier than the normal 3 o’clock. We had arrived in the morning as our cruise ship docked before 8am.
The bathroom was the best room and the bed was comfortable.
The position is good and we had a fine view from the 9th floor.
This is basically a poorly maintained and grotty property from the sixties. We would never use the very dated kitchen nor would we walk around barefoot. There is no air conditioning and no fans. We paid far too much for this experience. The receptionist was initially hostile to deal with due to our early arrival even though we had advised we were coming off a cruise ship.

The location is amazing and the very reason why I booked. It was shocking to see such a low end hotel at this location for this price though. I am not sure how they can charge this much for such a dumpy place.
The hotel is beyond old. I felt like it was staying in a place that should cost $40 a night not over $200!! The furnishings are old (like from the 1980s!), not very clean and the rug had stains in it. I was so grateful I hadn't booked my whole stay there and just had to suffer through 2 nights. The kitchen was fine and clean. For the price they charge, there is absolutely NO reason that they cannot invest some of the money back into renovation/maintaining the rooms. I have traveled all over the world and was shocked to get this for such a high price. They are totally exploiting the high price Vancouver market

Great location. Reasonable price for the location.
You get what you are paying for - have to have the right expectations for the relative pricing. But there is no AC/fan, and it can get hot very quickly. In addition, the elevator doesn't seem to have any indicator on, so it can get confusing, or even scary with sudden moves/stops.

Easy access everywhere, central, minutes from the beach , friendly staff
The rooms need some maintenance, the drawer in the kitchen was broken, the internet was not fast enough

The rooms are suites so there is plenty of space.
I was up high and the view was great with the doors and windows wide open. The windows themselves could have done with a good clean. Regardless of the faded nature of many of the furnishings, it still represents much better value than many of the fancier rooms around. And I was pleasantly impressed by how comfortable the bed was. Also, despite the hotel being full, I neither heard (nor even saw) another resident. It was really quiet, apart from external construction noise, which is a given in any city I’ve ever stayed in. The staff were pleasantly helpful but not obsequious. They were able to accommodate my need to stay an extra night on the morning I was due to check out.
It was hot while I was in Vancouver. Some of the curtains really do need replacing as the blockout is literally gone from the backs. Only about a third of the old incandescent bulbs have been replaced with efficient led’s. Both these things make the rooms hotter than they need to be. The curtains certainly won’t be keeping the cold out either.

At first blush it appears old and dated, but we quickly came to see all of it's age and quirkiness as pluses. Our room was spacious clean and comfortable. The view was great, staff very friendly and helpful, location as as good as it gets, and all in all, it made for a really nice stay.
We would absolutely stay again.
A few minor repairs or upgrades (lamp shades, bathroom taps) would really help

Great place for the price a little dated but the staff is very accommodating you won't find a cheaper room rate and the location is very central.

ok , this is an older hotel with dated fixtures but everything worked and it was clean, the windows opened and there was a mini balcony we could stand upon. There was so much space, a pullout couch in case you travelled with kids and a comfortable queen bed in a separate bedroom. A fully functional little kitchen and a table to sit at.
the elevator is slow and I do believe one of them was not working.

Nice location, and park free!
The window must be thin, so much noise from outside.
Anything so old, freezer didn't work, sink area was so mess, couch and linens had smell.

Great location. Nice large room. Quiet. Staff were helpful.
Starting to show some wear and tear - nothing significantly off putting but there are a few spots that some TLC would improve.

Staff were friendly, supportive and kind.
Older hotel but best price and huge suite rooms... so its a great balance.

The room had an amazing view!
Staff was nice and helpful! They granted us an early check in, and allowed a late check out.
Everything was great.

The room is extremely old. Smelled of mildew. No AC. Terrible “sofa/bed”. Poor cleaning conditions.

spacious and adequate for what we needed-a clean inexpensive place with safe parking, good restaurants nearby and centrally located. Nice view from 11th floor!
Decor is tired and worn, hairdryer didn't work, streetnoise finds its way in.

wasn’t clean, foreign hairs in the bathroom

Great location - sad old decor rather shabby but clean and friendly. Cheap compared to other Hotels in Vancouver but that isn't cheap!
