Where do I begin?! Karla and Jason were the absolute best hosts! We were actually gifted a stay from one veteran to another and then we bought a raffle ticket and won another stay and decided to add on a third stay, so we were there for 16 days! The house could not have been more perfect! Everything imaginable is available to you in the kitchen so when you arrive, bring nothing except the clothes that you need. There is a wonderful grocery store called Ingles that is close by and very affordable. Karla can get you fresh eggs from a local neighbor also when you stay! My husband is slightly handicapped and Karla made sure to accommodate some of his needs. They made sure that there was a ramp for him to access the home easily and having a downstairs bedroom was also very accommodating! There are two nice size bedrooms upstairs, along with a full bath, and the couch pulls out in the living room, and is actually quite comfortable! We had fires in the fireplace just about every night! do not buy firewood in town make sure that you get it from Karla and Jay for a small fee you can have firewood readily available!
There was an absolute adorable swing out front where the grandchildren enjoyed themselves every day! Lots of birdfeeders to watch the birds and we even watched the deer come up and snack on the bird feed! Absolutely beautiful surroundings! We did not want to leave. Thank you Karla and Jason for everything!

Impressed! This is a true mountain cabin experience, the real thing! Twenty beautiful acres of mountain living. Explore this estate and the National Forest Land that it borders. You can hike the property and discover streams, springs and views of Yonah Monah. Less than 10 minutes from town for provisions, supplies, pubs and awesome restaurants. At 2000 feet elevation this cabin is sitting atop a mountain range and has everything needed for a natural getaway. Generator, fully stocked kitchen, and even firewood available for purchase upon request. This cabin has it all. Jason and Karla are the perfect hosts, exceeding all our expectations.

We enjoyed our stay @ The Hideaway Cabin. Karla & Jason were amazing hosts. When requested, we immediately received an email with some of their favorite restaurants and several "must do's" during our stay. We completed most of their suggestions but will be booking another stay next month for more exploration.
The cabin was fully stocked, more than any property we have booked before. We had a blender, toaster, a bundt cake pan, a crock pot, air fryer, a wok and even a cute popcorn machine that the little ones loved using every night.
The 3 beds were all comfortable, and the teens enjoyed sleeping on a bonus queen pull out sofa bed. They slept by the fire each night, playing board games. It was so relaxing to watch them put down their devices for a bit and just disconnect from technology.
Although there are 3 Smart TV's, the kids may have turned 1 on for about an hour. They were so into exploring the property. When we woke each morning, they were already off for their morning hike.
We sat on the large covered porch each morning w' coffee, watching birds build their nest, preparing for the birth of their babies. It was so peaceful.
You can tell Karla and Jason love their property. From the cleanliness to the attention to detail, they adore this hidden gem. We will be back for 4 nights next month, and I cannot wait. I read several reviews before we selected The Hideaway. Every one hit the nail on the head. I could write much more about our stay. Book Now!

We loved everything about the stay. The cabin and property are like something out of a magazine. It was far enough out to feel like an escape, but close enough for quick trips in to Helen or Cleveland. Communication and check-in were as easy as it gets. This beautiful and cozy cabin is perfectly tucked into the woods, making it a wonderful gathering place for guys who usually camp together but agreed to a cabin when the wives joined in. We had everything we needed inside and outside! The fire pit was a great place to enjoy each other Friday night; the kitchen served all our needs; and the sunrise from the front porch Saturday and Sunday morning was stunning. Extremely clean, well-stocked, and welcoming cabin. Very spacious and perfect for our family of four, two adults and two teenagers. Location to Helen was perfect; about a 10 minute drive. Loads of wineries nearby. Cabin was secluded in the woods, so it was very quiet. No road noise. You could hear coyotes cry in the distance. Firewood was available for additional fee. I’m already planning my next stay. Owners were very approachable and stood ready to help if needed. Easiest check-in and check-out.

Everything was a total getaway experience. The drive up the mountain, the look and feel of the cabin and the amenities. We chose to unplug and use the cabin as much as we could. We had amazing meals at the cabin and everything we needed was provided to prepare our meals. We explored downtown Helen and had a ball Gem Mining, playing Miniature Golf and visiting the cool shops. This was one of the most relaxing and cool trips we've had as a family! We will definitely be back!! I'm telling all my friends about The Hideaway l!!!

We enjoyed our stay and will definitely visit again. Home was nice and property was breath taking. We saw turkey and deer, no bear. We went i to town and enjoyed shopping and eating. With it being a holiday and so many people there were things we didn't get to do. It was nice swinging on the porch and just enjoying the scenery and grilling. But it was a wonderful time with family.

My husband and I along with our three sons spent a long weekend at this property to escape our every day routine, and spend some time in the mountains. The cabin did not disappoint! It is very clean, cozy, and located on a private property with a beautiful view. We loved this property. Great location for sightseeing and visiting downtown Helen. The cabin was very comfortable with plenty of room for the six of us. Perfect Getaway to Relax and Recharge!
My husband and I had the perfect weekend at the Hideaway! The cabin was very clean and cozy, tucked in the forest where it was quiet and peaceful! The property is beautiful and we enjoyed just sitting on the porch in the rocking chairs. We planned to do a few hikes during our stay and loved the cabin's convenient location near Yonah Mountain trail and many other great hikes!
Karla, the owner, was friendly, helpful and easy to work with. When booking our reservation I mentioned we wanted to visit a winery. Karla recommended one they love just 2 miles from the cabin. We had never been to this winery and had a fantastic evening at Serenity Cellars.

Expectations Exceeded!
The perfect getaway for our family of 7. The children enjoyed the board games, there was even a game called Helenopoly that we fell in LOVE with. We visited some of the attractions we discovered while playing Helenopoly.
The owners have thought of everything to make their cabin comfortable and cozy. We enjoyed nights by the fire and S’mores by the fire pit.
The beds were so comfortable with fresh smelling linens. Coffee provided for the coffee maker and Keurig. We have rented several cabins before, but none as charming as this one.
We are planning our 2nd stay later this summer. Rent The Hideaway, you will not be disappointed.

Cozy Cabin
On a scale from 1 to 10 this cabin, the atmosphere and the owner Karla & Jason I give a 12. My family owns a rustic furniture store- The Rustic Barn- Dothan, AL. Our family spent Christmas at this cabin getaway and had a wonderful relaxing time. We stayed mainly at the cabin grilled out & set around a campfire. Inside had everything needed, clean, comfortable and pleasantly furnished. The owner Karla was the best and communication was great. The cabin was decorated for Christmas with lights outside and a tree inside. She went above and beyond to ensure the experience was the best possible. VRBO was also excellent. There were stores for groceries within 10 minutes in either direction. Helen Georgia was only minutes away. Plenty of activity around the cabin in both directions if you wanted to site see or shop. We will absolutely go back and spend some time every year and pre-book this cabin for a destination for relaxation.

Hideaway wonderland
Stop searching. Rent this property now!!!!! This cabin had everything we expected and much more. Karla and Jason are just out of this world. Made us feel like family. We post power due to a storm and to my surprise back up generator turns right on automatically and powers up the whole cabin. Great perk. The screened in porche has a beautiful view of the mountains. Pictures don’t do this property justice. Very safe for all the family. The hideaway accommodated our family of 8 very comfortably. Can’t wait to go back. Thank you very much Karla and Jason. Cozy Cabin with Scenic Views
We so enjoyed our stay at this cabin! From the cabin itself to the vast scenic outdoor views, this place had everything we needed to escape the busyness of work & school. Sipping coffee every morning outside in the screened in gazebo was like meditation … listening to the many sounds of nature and watching the colorful leaves spin and dance in the breeze was lovely.
And for a family that loves to cook, we were thrilled with the variety of pots, pans, casserole dishes, utensils, gadgets, etc. The owner even ordered a large roasting pan and a beautiful pie dish for our stay!
Speaking of the owners, they were responsive to every question we had, and we could tell that they cared about us and our satisfaction with our visit.
As long as there is availability, we will return to this very cabin. We don't like to wish time away, but we are already looking forward to Thanksgiving 2022!

While I loved the property grounds, the inside can use a little TLC. I believe I paid more than the going rate bc of Oktoberfest happening in Helen. For the amount I paid, I was honestly expecting a little more. The bathroom door locks are after market slide bolt latches and they do not align. I realize it seems trivial, but the amount of times you have to try and keep the door closed adds up to being a nuisance. There is also a lack of towels. Yes, there is a washer and dryer, but I prefer not to have to do laundry when on vacation. Also, the front door sticks so you have to really give it a hard nudge when you turn the key. For the amount of reminders to maintain the property, I would expect the quality to be more maintained. I normally do not write anything negative, but this time I felt compelled to bc as a regular VRBO user, I know I rely heavily on the reviews. I would say that coming in late Fall and winter might be better to see the view of the mountains.

Cozy cabin on secluded street with lots of privacy. In an area with a ton of stuff to do and many good restaurants. The owners were extremely quick to respond to any of our questions, and went out of their way to provide a lot of “extra” touches that were most unexpected.
