booking directly with the property would have included the trainfare, with booking.com it was extra.

The location with its surrounding is amazing and you have the possibility to take the train up or hike.

The views are just stunning and probably some of the best in Switzerland. Staff was absolutely lovely.

Booking.com price is often higher than the hotel price. Better to book directly via the hotel.

No toilet in the room

Well, this was one hell of a gem! In the middle of Switzerland, with the best views you can think of, I was expecting to be a bit disappointed. But this hotel was amazing. We tried to get an early train up, because of the Alphorn concert and we arrived just in time to see them play. What a treat that was. Prices in the cafe were really good too. Our room was already ready, so we were able to check in early. The decorations of the rooms are really something else - very historical with lots of local and interesting artifacts. Our room had the most amazing view of the Eiger/Jungfrau. We also booked the 4 course dinner. It did not disappoint. The food tasted really good, lots of local specialties and the staff was very eager to make sure any dietary restrictions were met (we dont have any, but really respected how they wanted to make sure). Please note that if you are gluten free, etc, the staff is really prepared. We slept really well. Nice and quiet. Note: IT IS A SHARED BATHROOM - i missed this fact when i booked, but it wouldnt have stopped me. The shared bathroom and shower was so clean, you never would have known that others were using them.

The only thing I wished for was more protein and fruit/veg options at breakfast. They had hard boiled eggs and some sliced meats, but no bacon or other kinds of eggs. I eat a very protein rich diet, so i would have liked perhaps some scrambled eggs, bacon, and plain yoghurt (which they had) with more fruit selections. But really, this is a small minor point compared to the rest of the stay.

A unique location in the Bernese Oberland with great views, if you are lucky with the weather. In my case we stayed in a rainy cloud and the view opened up only after the check-out.

The restaurant managing lady seemed very strict and unfriendly, especially after hearing that I am vegan.
