Large Family reunion gathering 35 participants. Mostly teenagers- a few children. The most accommodating venue we have ever used. Something for everyone, pool, basketball court several large gathering areas. Facilitated family interaction. Great kitchen facility! Easy communications with the owners.

It's hard to find a location space for 76 family members from 5 different states to get together, but Rivendell proved the case for doing so.
We coordinated a family reunion and pooled together the money to spend a week and had some of the best days of our lives.
Rivendell was able to host us as we managed to fit Barbeque, a Full 18 rounds of Golf at the Country Club 10 minutes away, many Pool & Sauna parties, Human sized Hamster Ball Battles in the Gym, and a Board Game Tournament into a week we will all cherish forever.
Tom and his team run a tight ship, and his constant communication and able staff helped us have a great week and work through any issues that arose. Our family highly recommends the venue.

Smithfield Canyon Home
This is our second year to spend our Christmas/New Years time as a family together. We have a large family and this home provides my grandchildren with lots of fun stuff to hang out and do. The swimming pool, hot tub, and basketball court is absolutely the best part of this home. We are still getting children out of the pool when it is time to vacate the home, they love it so much!!! Having indoor basketball games or indoor soccer games brings your family together in a very special way. Soaking in the hot tub, watching the grandchildren on the water slide, playing pool tournaments, using the stage for talent shows, all of this is available when your family spends their special time together. The home is very clean, the owner is always available, supplies are always filled and extra available, washer and dryer on all three levels, great area to eat and seat everyone, and plenty of places for family gatherings. My children and grandchildren asked us if we could please come to this home again in one year. When they love spending time with us our hearts are full and this home provides a place for love to abound. Thank you so very much for sharing your home with us!!!

Rivendell, what’s not to love!
This is an absolute must for making family memories to last forever! The owner is amazing and super helpful, if you ever have a question he responds within minutes. The home is beyond beautiful and extremely well-kept, they have thought of everything! There are multiple activities for making fun memories whether you are 1 or 100! The home is extremely family-friendly and there are multiple large gathering areas to accommodate. Pictures cannot do this place justice, it is a must see and do! We were blessed to make so many great Christmas family memories here. As we loaded our grandchildren in the car To leave one of them looked up and said “I want to live here with mama and papa forever!” Thank you for sharing such a special home with us!

The kids enjoyed the trampoline while we sat and enjoyed putting our feet in the creek. Wonderful!! The barbecue pit area was great for our s’mores and songs. The little cottage worked perfectly for our newly married. Early mornings found little ones enjoying their airplane ride. The pool was super fun for all. We had a glow stick party in the gym. It will be a favorite memory. Gathering in the large living room our patriarch shared knowledge of the universe and beauties in the heavens.
On our first day there my husband Michael fell in the shower. It was a scare for sure. He broke 5 ribs, two of them in two places. He had a punctured lung and had to have neuro thorax surgery. Was in the hospital for three days. Your home was designed so we could take good care of him. Water fountain and easy access to the sink. Our family cared for him so well.
He was on oxygen and was able to take his walks in many places in the home.
A couple of things for future renters. The left oven doesn’t heat properly. Takes forever to heat up and doesn’t get as hot as it should. The freezer in the kitchen didn’t freeze properly when it was full. The ice kept melting and then freezing again. We would have felt more comfortable with finding the key to the sliding door to the pool. We made certain our littles obeyed our rules. There was a faint odor of cigarettes smoke in all our clothes. Wondered where that came from.

Great for large gatherings
We had a large extended family reunion for about 70 people for three nights. This home was able to accommodate everyone comfortably. There are a variety of things to keep everyone entertained inside and outside the home and on the property. I'd recommend this property to anyone who needs to host a large gathering.

Family Reunion
We had our family reunion at the perfect location. The accommodations were everything and more than we had hoped for. The house was big enough to be under one roof to eat together, laugh together and enjoy tons of activities together. Everyone thought it was the best get together we had ever had!!

We had a truly glorious stay at this incredible home.
Our family reunion at this gorgeous home was so perfect. There were 38 of us. We used both the main house and the bunkhouse, and we were glad we did it that way. I think we used every single feature of the property, except maybe not the outdoor basketball hoop at the bunkhouse since the kids had all the access they wanted to the indoor basketball hoop in the gym. And they used that a lot! Oh, and we only used the big screen in the lower level by the pool for our planned activities using that. Otherwise no one felt any need to waste time looking at the other screens! There is so much to do on this property that we really kept well entertained and engaged with one another in both the activities we planned and the open time for just enjoying each other here and there or relaxing and reading. It really isn't possible to truly describe all that this property has to offer plus the great quality of everything. Come and enjoy!!

An amazing experience for start to finish!
When we were on the lookout for a property that could be the ideal setting for our large family reunion, we came across this wonderful home...While we had some initial doubts, we were put completely at ease by Tom - who patiently answered all our questions and went out of his way to truly make our stay as comfortable as possible. We were a large group - 48 of us - and we were able to create some wonderful memories here. The house is perfect for all generations! The treehouse, pool, basketball court and soccer field were a hit with the kids. We held a family olympics, talent show (stage gave us the ideal setting), dance night, and some other events. The house is perfect in every way possible - enough to do for all, privacy when needed, and plenty of common areas to gather and bond. Per Tom's recommendation, we catered our food from Culinary Concepts (yum!). for breakfast and a formal banquet. While not required by Tom, we found it worthwhile getting Blue Brush Cleaners to come every day and clean the kitchen and the bathrooms.
Plenty of hikes in the region - do the windcaves! Also, look up in the night - the sky is simply amazing....
Tom is a perfect host...he has built a wonderful home that is ideal to create some lifelong memories. Every guest in our party, across 3 generations, had nothing but wonderful things to say about the home and our renunion. Thank you, Tom!

No Place Like it! The Perfect Stay.
For a large group, this was perfect. Beds for everyone. So often large places are not built as homes. This is a home that has spaces that bring groups together. With 17,000 square feet, each space is carefully thought out. There are several large areas for groups to gather but also intimate spaces to meet. The outdoor space was fantastic. Beautiful. By getting both houses, you gain a great kid's play area and a large soccer field, plus more sleeping areas. We have stayed at several large reunion places, and this by far was the best ever. It brought our family closer. We will be back!

Awesome place for Reunion!
The Rivendell place was the perfect spot for our family reunion! Everyone from our group loved it. From the moment we checked in to the time we left, everything was a smooth transition. Tom was available when we had questions or needed assistance. I would highly recommend this place to have your reunions at or if you need a quick get a way trip for big groups. There’s enough room and space to fit everyone!

Our Favorite Reunion House By Far!
We've stayed in a number of large houses over the years - but this one wins hands down. There were so many things about it that made it perfect - the gym, stage, pool, firepit area, gaga ball pit, movie room, and indoor treehouse kept everyone happy and entertained. We had a wonderful time and are already making plans to return. Thank you!!

The Rivendell property was everything we hoped it would be. There was so much space and things to do that our group had plenty of activity. I highly recommend that you reserve both houses to take advantage of the entire property.

Fantastic location
We reached out to Tom last minute to rent for a group of 70 sorority women. We had a cancellation of our original rental & were looking for a last minute location. Tom was so accommodating.
The day the rental started, Tom met one of the collegiate women at the house & walked them through everything you would need to know for using the house. They never stopped raving about how fabulous the house was & what an amazing space we had found to accommodate them.
The women said “Amazing experience at this house. Owner met with us and toured the house and showed us how to use the facilities, super friendly. We brought a large group of girls that were all able to have comfortable accommodations, would love to visit again! ”

Perfect for our family reuion
This was an excellent venue for my group of 14 adults and 13 children (age 8 and younger) to enjoy a family reunion. We were content to spend nearly our entire five days at the house, as there were plenty of activities to entertain us there. The craftsmanship that went into constructing this house is extraordinary, and the house and grounds are in very good repair.
When we arrived, the AC was not working. I texted Tom about it, and within a few hours he had a repairman fixing it. Tom was always very responsive and helpful.

Fantastic property!
We had our family reunion here. There were 54 of us - 34 adults and 20 kids. Most all of us had private sleeping spaces. The property is well designed with great amenities throughout. The pool, indoor tree house and the gym/theater made this a fantastic destination. Since we were there to connect with relatives and not necessarily to sight see, there wasn't anything we lacked to keep the kids entertained right on the property. Tom was available by text for any questions. I highly recommend this property and the owner's management of the property!

Wonderful place for large groups!
The house was clean, so much space for everyone to spread out.
From the pool to the inside treehouse, to the trampoline by the river there was so much to keep the kids busy.
The stage/gym was the perfect place to gather to play games as a family and even have a talent show.
I would highly recommend this place!

Our family really enjoyed it. Lots of things to do. The indoor pool was a great an especially great hit with young and old. We were even able to do a bit of genealogy in the Smithfield cemetery.

Everything you could want for a family reunion house!
We loved our stay at Rivendell. We had 44 people and there was more than enough space for everyone. We loved the pool, the gym, the game room, the stage, the outside area...so much to do and such a beautiful setting. The sound system throughout the house was an added bonus! You could play music in every room even the pool. The Lord of the Rings theme made it all that much more fun for us as our family are huge Lord of the Rings fans. Great house and management. Highly recommend!!

This house (estate? mansion? palace?) is special and facilitated a marvelous experience for our group. The owner is a great guy, to give you a sense of scale, it took him an hour to show us around the property. We're extremely glad we chose this place and would certainly recommend it to other people.

I can’t speak highly enough about this property and our stay here. We had a family reunion with 60 people of all ages and this home could not have been better suited for our needs. There were many rooms giving privacy and noise control. The beds were very comfortable. The layout of the house also helped with noise control. The kids mostly played downstairs in the pool, game room, stage and gym and you could hardly hear them. The master bedroom could hear the noise from the pool at night but it didn’t cause any problems. The treehouse is even better in person than it looks. The pool area was fantastic and provided hours and hours of fun. The kids loved doing plays on the stage. The grounds were beautiful and felt secluded and private. For such a big group of people, the number of bathrooms was slightly inconvenient. We had large groups having to share each of the bathrooms which was not ideal; however, it was doable and totally understandable given this is a private home. We looked at some larger lodges that would have had a better bathroom and privacy situation, but also would have lost some of the homey-ness of this property. We had a couple small issues come up during our time there, which is understandable given the size of the house. But I had direct contact with the owner and he was extremely easy to work with and where possible, had the issue resolved the same day. The kitchen was well-stocked and large and made cooking and dining for a group of our size relatively easy. The home itself is beautifully built and decorated. There are pullout couches everywhere, providing lots of extra sleeping space. I was concerned that the couches folded out would make the space seem cluttered and messy, or that the couches would be uncomfortable, but they were actually really comfortable and were really easy to fold back up for tidiness during the day. We also rented the smaller house next door for the overflow of our party which worked out really well. I would rent this home again in a heartbeat, and we hope to come stay again!

This home is beautiful with so much to appreciate. First the style of the home and the attention to every detail is amazing. My family of 52 was very comfortable in this spacious home. There was something to do for every age group. The playroom that features a tree house kept the younger ones entertained for hours, the pool and gym were enjoyed by all, gathering areas were large enough to comfortably accommodate all of us. Although we no longer need handicap access, we truly appreciated that with the elevator every floor and room was accessible for someone in a wheelchair, bathrooms had roll-in showers, and doorways and hallways were wide. We definitely plan to come again. We can't say enough. This house was a wonderful dream!

We booked our trip last minute for a family reunion (the place we had fell thru) and they were very helpful getting everything set up and working with us. We had 49 people in our family and everyone had a bed and a place to hang out. We LOVED the indoor pool and the basketball gym and the big screen projector TV and the outdoor area and the space to relax. We had so much room and things to do that we never had to leave. The kitchen was great for making food for our family! The great room was perfect for a family sing along. The owner responded quickly to all of our needs and questions as they arose. We LOVED this place and recommend it for everyone!!!

This home is impressive! Our family had so much fun spending a week in a mansion. The kids loved the tree house stocked full of toys and we played the best games of hide-and-seek and sardines ever! We all enjoyed the gym and had family volleyball games daily. We never ran out of things to do between all the games, movies, pool table, ping pong, gym, and of course we all loved the swimming pool, hot tub, and sauna. It's nice to use a large indoor pool and not have to deal with sunscreen! The kitchen is large and allowed us to all contribute to cooking meals and clean up. I definitely recommend this property!

This home was wonderful for our 24 family members. Lots to do, lots of room. The owners were great to work with, professional. Unfortunately we found a few things did not work-the grill, the basketball hoop was broken, the theater room would not play a DVD, the power blinds would not work, the pool was not usable the first day due to previous guests misusing the controls. Afterwards when I complained the owner said I should have called during the stay and they could have and would have fixed those things. I am sure that is true but it felt like such an imposition as the owner was out of town and had told us that. He gave us a small rebate on the fee which was appreciated.

This house has something for everyone and provides a great comfortable experience as well. We had a large group - grandma and grandpa, their 7 children and spouses, and lots of grandchildren. Everything was well stocked and prepared for us to meet the needs of all ages and preferences. We loved being able to swim in the indoor pool or play at the private creek - the house is full of fun activities. The kids loved to play upstairs in the multi-level indoor treehouse, and the teens had plenty of movies and books to keep them entertained. The gym space was perfect for fun family activities and sports competitions.
The location of this place is also fantastic. You feel secluded and tucked away in the canyon and yet you are close to tons of fun activities - just an hour drive to the Lagoon theme park or an hour drive to Bear Lake for boating or beach fun (you HAVE to try their raspberry shakes). It is also close to the Fat Boys factory, Pepperidge Farms factory and tons of small cheese and candy companies you can tour and enjoy as a family.
The owner was so helpful throughout our trip and made sure that all of our needs were met. He was extremely responsive when contacted and went the extra mile to get everything in place for us to have an excellent time at our reunion. Would highly recommend renting this property!

We had a group of about 40 people and comfortably fit into the home. There's so much for the kids to do in the home that we spent most of the reunion just hanging out in the rental home. It's close enough to Logan to do things there too.

We had a great time at our family reunion! Because there were so many things to do in the house and on the property, we didn't have to plan outside events. The owner was quick to respond to our questions/concerns.
We had family from 2 months to 94 years of age, and it worked well for all of us. I would highly recommend this property for groups of all ages!

The property is loaded with everything for every age and desire. From the pool, slide and sauna (the hot tub was not working then fixed but we did not know the repair had been made), to the gym, stage, pool table and ping pong table and large screen for movies or TV in the lower floor to the bedrooms, kitchen, utensils, dining room, living room and apartment on the main floor were loaded with games and movies like it was a home were somebody lived all the time. Very complete and very comfortable. The upper floor was loaded with toys, games and contraptions that attracted the little kids as well as additional bedrooms. The elevator was a great help with our two wheelchair bound individuals so they could visit every floor and activity level. The pool and slide were big hits along with the abundance of pool toys and life jackets for the little ones. The property also had beautiful grounds with eating areas, trampoline, teeter totter, and fire pit. The kids enjoyed the pool so much that we didn't do too much outside. The manager was easy to work with and responded rapidly to my inquiries. I haven't talked to any one in my family that was not totally satisfied with their experience. Thank you so much for this opportunity!

The boys spent the entire time in the gym and game room. The girls took over the upstairs game room and pool. The little kids loved the pool and gym as well. Owners were great to work with.

The are no words amazing enough to describe how perfect Tom's house was for our family reunion. The house is more than enough space, equipped with everything we needed; from the pool, equpped with a slide, jacuzzi, pool toys and life vests, to the gym, perfect for hosting our talent show night, Olympic games and workshops, and the amazing indoor tree house that kept our little ones occupied for hours with wonder! This house was beyond perfect and we are so grateful to the Worthen family for helping us make this reunion the most memorable! You will not regret staying in this beautiful & spacious mansion! ♡

We will be staying in this beautiful home in July 2017. While we were in town, last week, the owners were very kind to let us come over to have a sneak peak. The pictures are great, but do not do the place justice. This home is not only spacious and beautiful, but also very warm and inviting. This home was built with love, and you can see it and feel it in every room and in every detail. It is the nicest house I have ever been in, but it is also very comfortable and inviting. I am beyond excited to stay here with our whole family. I know we are going to have an amazing time. This house has everything you could ever need or want!
