Very pleased with our stay, location, and the Vacation in Carlsbad team. We stayed in SURF - upper middle door - and had enough room for two teens, hubby, and myself. Check in was a breeze as we finally arrived at 1:30 am and basically walked right in, travel weary, to a homey feel. I always bring basic cleaning supplies when we travel but did NOT need to use them - this is a first! Everything was spotless, clean, and well organized. Kitchen necessities, detergents, laundry, and high-end bathroom essentials were well stocked and easy to find. Place was decorated in a fun Cali vibe. Beds and pillows were comfortable to sleep with for the entire week. Beach was a very quick walk down the block, turn left to crosswalk, then down to the sand. If you aren't familiar, all traffic must stop when crosswalk lights are in use. Downtown Carlsbad was a short walk, down the block then turn right. Walk is 5-10 minutes to great food and fun shopping. Game room was fun but could use an update - pinball and foosball table could be replaced. We still enjoyed some evening time with the other games. Apparently there were other renters, but we didn't hear anything. No tv's, music, or even doors. The Vacation in Carlsbad team was friendly and introduced themselves when around. We would DEFINITELY book directly with the Vacation in Carlsbad team should we be lucky enough to visit Carlsbad again. If this is your first experience with rentals or Carlsbad vacationing, be sure to look up Vacation in Carlsbad and feel confident in choosing any of their locations.

Property is in a great location and was a short walk to the beach. We appreciated having two bedrooms and bathrooms. It is in a building with other units but we did not have any noice from the other people living there. The shed with beach supplies was great and our kids appreciated having everything there. Beds were comfortable and the unit was clean. Management was responsive. Would stay again.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Surf apartment. It was perfectly clean, super comfortable, had everything we needed, and was walking distance to the beach and the town center. We were able to cook some meals and dine out at some truly amazing restaurants in Carlsbad. We will absolutely be staying here again! Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful vacation to end summer and this property had everything to make this vacation special. Providing boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrellas, bbq, fire pit and beach towels made it super convenient and added to our experience. Property management team was quick to respond to any questions and really friendly. They thought everything so we didn’t have to. Highly recommend!

We have stayed in a number of S. Cal resort towns and Carlsbad is now my favorite. The property was less than one block from the beach. It is a short walk to the village. I didn't cook much but everything I needed was here. For unforeseen reasons, I traveled solo, but the place has two identical bedrooms and baths so is perfect for two couples or a family with kids. The apartment is fairly basic (i..e no hot tub, roof deck etc.), just as advertised in the pictures and a great comfortable clean place as home base. The key lock system is brilliant. Easy check-in, easy access--couldn't lock myself out. I had a wonderful time.

We are so lucky we found this place. It was perfect for our two kids and had everything we needed. It was six minutes walking to the beach or ten minutes to town. We were so glad that we did not have to haul beach chairs, towels, or boogie boards. Everything was supplied for us. The location was great and the property was super clean and spacious. The bonus game room was a nice touch for downtime from the beach. Our kids absolutely loved it and so did the adults. Hoping to rent this place again. We really enjoyed ourselves and loved it. We celebrated a 50th birthday get away in the Surf suite. Everything was immaculate with the property and our suite. We had a party of 4 adults, and it was nice to each have individual matching king beds and baths. The common area was very nice, and the kitchen was great to work in. Had everything you would need minus the food and spices! Being 1 block to the beach and a short walk to the Village was a nice bonus also. We will be back!

Really sharp place. Block from a not-crowded part of Tamarack beach. Half mile to all the stuff in the village - not too close and not too far. Not sure what more you could ask for.

We were a party of 5 ranging from 4 years old to 72 and the stay did not disappoint anybody. The surf suite was just a short walk to the beach and to the village of Carlsbad. The neighborhood was super quiet even on Labor Day weekend. Mary the property manager made us feel like we were family and was available to answer any questions. We will be back and we'll bring more family with us to rent out the the joining unit! Thank you VIC for a 5 star stay! P.S. Your beds are so incredibly comfortable.

Everything as advertised. Loved the individual controls for AC in each room and king beds. Parked the car and walked to downtown for shopping and eating as well as Coaster train to San Diego. Would highly recommend.

Vacationed a week in the Surf Suite, our family loved it. Vacation in Carlsbad has literally thought of everything you need for a family trip to the beach. The multi unit rental is quite, safe, clean, well stocked, and a 5 minute walk from a very nice beach, and downtown Carlsbad. Also, less than a mile from the train station for a quick ride to San Diego attractions. The only negative I can think of is that all the kitchen knives were dull. So, bring one sharp knife and this will be a perfect vacation rental. Again, property managers do an awesome job, above and beyond.

We really enjoyed our stay here. I loved the easy check in process and how clean and we'll stocked everything was, it was all so professional. The location is near perfect as well, just a very short walk to the beach and I never felt unsafe even going for a run after 10 pm. The only thing I would suggest is, the porch light was really bright and the door has a huge window, lit up the whole place. Also, it comes with an air mattress for a fifth person but it lost air halfway through the night. Overall we were extremely pleaseD and would stay here again in a heart beat.

This is an awesome property and exactly what our family was looking for. Although, we shared the property with other guests (there are 4 or 5 different units in the building), we rarely saw or heard the other vacationers. Our unit was a perfect fit for a family of 5. We stayed for a week, stocked up on groceries and used the included beach equipment. The outdoor shower was very nice for washing off sandy feet . The Surf suite looked brand new. The parking was great, especially during the busy July 4th weekend. We could easily walk to Carlsbad village to eat or shop. Downtown SD is 40-60 depending on traffic. Staying here was pretty much ideal and made for a really memorable family vacation.

We travelled as two couples for five days in Carlsbad. This property is in an excellent location, one block from the beach, and is thoughtfully well-equipped and supplied. It is also easy to get to I-5 as a jumping-off point for anything you want to do in the area. Parking spots could have been better marked for our arrival in the dark, but this is a minor issue. We would absolutely rent this property again, and hope to do so soon.

We loved it here! Only a block away from a nice beach and the unit was very modern and comfortable. Had everything we needed and nice and open floor plan so we could all be together. We came for our anniversary and greatly appreciated the bottle of wine left for us at arrival! The game room downstairs was fun, and there are beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, and sand toys to use as well. Can walk to quite a few local restaurants or the village from here as well. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Our family enjoyed our stay at the Surf suite, and plan on staying again in the future. It is a very short walk to the beach, even better than properties down by the beach because you can’t really hear any traffic. The bedrooms and bathrooms were what you would expect from an expensive hotel: nice towels, amazing bed, big TVs, super clean and even nice toiletries. Very organized and easy to set your things up plenty of closet and drawers for storage. All brand new and efficient. The mattress was amazing. The kitchen is very well equipped, with nice pans and knives (very rare in vacation rentals) and enough dishes not to have to run the dishwasher every time you eat. In fact, we ended up cooking more than we had originally planned because of how nice the kitchen and the appliances were. The washer and dryer in the unit are functional and pretty quiet, it was so nice to be able to do laundry. The living room was spacious, and even though we didn’t use, there was an air bed that could easily be used there, and there would still be room for walking around. The garage was nice and clean; playroom was a small but a good little distraction. The shed had all the beach needs – chairs, umbrellas, toys, boards… pretty clean and organized too. The outdoor hot water for cleaning up after the beach was so great, we went to the beach every day, but our suite was never sandy because we could wash up before going upstairs. We had people staying in both suites next to us and never heard any noise, so it seemed to me that sound isolation was pretty good. The people staying below us did complain about our kids being noisy, but we found it a little strange since we couldn’t really hear much noise from the other units. It was a last minute trip, and we were a little concerned about staying in a new place, but it was so wonderful that we are already looking into booking a second stay. The managing staff was wonderful to communicate with before our arrival, and I was a little confused about my payment being processed since we booked last minute, and the person I talked to was helpful and kind. We did not need to contact them at all during our stay, but I am pretty confident that if we did need help, they would be quick and efficient. It was a wonderful experience, and I would resituate to stay at this property again.
