Big Sky Lodge II | 2 Game Rooms + Theater, Hot Tub, & Wet Bar!

Great area and we’ll return but a different house

Terrible upkeep on this location! didn’t even have safe beds for myself and 3 others. The handyman also agreed but could do nothing about it. I was hung up on by management. And told over and over that the call ends with her and i could not voice my concern to anyone but her. It was problem after problem .

Nice and quiet location, beautiful view
lots of family memories !

The cabin itself was nice. Some of the furniture had obvious signs of wear and tear. One shower had broken knobs, and one of the bedrooms tv didn't work because of the internet. The internet worked only intermittently, which really was not good. On the plus side, maintenance did come and try to help out. they did what they could, which I really appreciated. All in all, not too bad. Everyone had a good time.

Great location, more than enough room for us!

Property is great but needs to change mattresses in all beds, we were having a lot of problems with the internet but in general we had a great stay
4.0 / 10.0
There were many problems with the home.
- main floor shower leaked onto the counter of the lower level bunk room so it was unusable.
- broken shelves in the fridge, reduced space
- fridge leaked, we had to keep towels under it all weekend
- not enough towels for the amount of people we said would be there when booking
- no extra bedding for the pull out sofas
- broken flooring by the pool table
- Golden T didn't work
- Wi-Fi was poor, couldn't use the theater room, no DVD's provided and we didn't know we couldn't stream, this room went unused.
- only 6 outdoor chairs, this home sleeps over 20, not enough seating.
- many dirty dishes in the cupboard, had to clean everything to use it
- entire kitchen and dining tables were sticky
- garbage all over the street and ground by the dumpsters, no one cleaned it up all weekend, and it is under video survelance so it was clearly visible.

The property manager was very helpful and responded to our issues promptly.

Let me start by saying we are very thankful for letting us in earlier but when we got in the floor in the kitchen was so nasty and sticky your feet would stick to the floor. There was no mop so we had to go buy one so the kids could go bare footed. The shower was nasty and so was one of the hot tubs. All kinds of skin particles floating. Teresa the property manager said that someone was coming to work on 2 of the tv’s that didn’t work but they never showed up and only one actually worked. I then called Teresa the property manager to see if they could at least bring some cleaning supplies and we would clean it but she never call back. We rode to down to family dollar and got our own. The air conditioner didn’t work good either it stay 76-78 degrees the whole weekend.

We absolutely enjoyed ourselves in this cabin! Very spacious and welcoming. I've stayed in several cabins but none gave me the wow factor like this one did I hope to return soon! Pictures wowed us when first booking but we were in love from the moment we opened the door! Kids begged to never leave the cabin and they barely wanted to leave to explore the town! Will definitely rent this unit out again!

The house was beautiful and very spacious for our family vacation! The kitchen with 2 refrigerators was very spacious as well as the bedrooms. Wish there was more sofa /seating in the main living area however for guests. We loved the game room area on the lower floor as well as pinball games on the upper floor for all ages. The movie theatre was great too! Having 2 hot tubs was nice too. The view outside was lovely, but wish there were more chairs/rockers available. Bunk room mattresses need replacing with less than adequate support !

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin. Great location, plenty of parking and the layout of the bedding was perfect. The only complaint I have is that some of the beds were not made. The quilts were on them, but the sheets were just folded up on top of the beds instead of on them. I will definitely be renting this cabin in the future.

Beautiful Cabin/ Great Location
The cabin was beautiful. It was well decorated and the kitchen was well equipped. We could not have asked for a better location. It was minutes from all the tourist spots but far enough away to get some peace at night. It was the perfect place for a friends and family get together. There are a couple of issues to point out. The Wi-Fi is very poor and not enough for streaming movies. Most of the beds are setup as bunk beds so you need to make sure that you have enough people who can climb up on the bunk beds. We had a hard time with some of the elderly parents that were in our group. Otherwise, it was a beautiful cabin and we really enjoyed our stay.

Ski trip
Maintenance was great and came out every time we called. I asked if there were two hot tubs prior to our stay and they said one. But there are two hot tubs. One worked better than the other. Lots of tiles cracked, scratched floors, not all tvs worked because of missing cables. The house could use some upgrades. The fireplace was terrible. It is Fake and no heat comes from it.
Overall, those were some minor things and it was a good house and we enjoyed our stay.

It is a good property. Nice accommodations for a large group, if you don’t mind dealing with all the rules of the rental company.

Cabin looks good .internet is terrible . Customer care support is not promising. We had called multiple times about internet/hottub issues. Internet issues were never resolved and hottub was resolved after one day after calling them multiple times.

Very Disappointing.
The pictures on the listing do no match this property. There is NO view from any of the decks besides trees. The property itself is in poor condition. The day we arrived the door knob broke on the door itself trapping us inside the house unless we jumped the fence from the back porch. We took the door knob off and had to stick a towel in it overnight until they came to put a new knob on the next morning. The wifi is so weak, you cannot work reliably and it's very confusing as there are multiple networks, all of which run about the same speed. It will sleep a lot of folks but the theatre room is unusable due to the projector and screen not being the same size, there are numerous light bulbs burned out, and it is very far from what we expected given the pictures on the website. Another VERY IMPORTANT thing to note - this company DOES NOT Abide by VRBO policies so the cancellation policy is VERY misleading since they will not make any changes after 48 hours after signing the contract.

Enjoyed stay, room for improvement
I would normally give this property itself a 5/5, however there were a few things that really knocked it down a few pegs for our group.
Firstly, (we are in the middle of a pandemic), and there was very limited hand soap in the cabin. For the 7 bathrooms in the cabin, there were maybe only 3 cars of hand soap meaning majority of the bathrooms had no soap.
There were a few scattered left behind trash items in the house (children’s broken toy left upstairs by bartop, firework trashed box on outside balcony.
There are 6 full baths (one being a Jack&Jill that two rooms must share) and 2 half baths. We didn’t catch the Jack&Jill bath when booking.
The bedrooms are large and spacious and private. Could use some updates to the bedding (faded and really worn), especially in the upstairs bedrooms.
We would have loved more outdoor chairs since this is such a large cabin and houses many people, there were only ~8 outdoor rocking chairs. We had a party of 14. We did enjoy the balcony on all three stories! Just wish more seating to enjoy the space.
The movie room we didn’t even utilize because there was something sticky previously spilled all over the table, wall, and remotes in there. We had seen in previous reviews about mouse droppings and sadly we found this in this room as well.
The Pinball and other games upstairs and pool and air hockey downstairs our group enjoyed.
The kitchen has two refrigerators, two ovens, and two dishwashers with lots of provided cookware and bakeware which was very nice.
We went in mid September so the Mountain View pictured was not visible due to green foliage still, so keeping that in mind when booking based on the season.
I will say the booking group called on our second day there and left a voicemail to see if they could do anything for us, however by that time we had already bought our own soap for all the bathrooms.
Again, with improved cleaning and some minor updates, this property would be a 5/5 for me. Until then, only a 3/5. We enjoyed our stay here but wouldn’t be back without improvements to their cleaning standards.

Really Good Property, Needs a Few Minor Updates
This property is perfect for a large family group. There are a few updates that are needed: The theater only has two seats that are not broken. The kitchen is woefully lacking in cooking utensils, bowls, and pots. The one broiler pot has the Teflon peeling so badly that we could not use it. These are minor and easy fixes which would make an already good property awesome. We recommend it, 4 stars.

Beautiful place with quite neighborhood. Big enough to fit our entire tribe
Very easy check in. The place was really nice and close enough to top ten to run and pick up anything we needed.

Ski Trip
The property was good for our needs. Roomy and clean. However the internet connection was pretty much non-existent. Also some of the bunk beds had wood that looked to be splitting and did not seem completely safe. Some of the games (arcade and air hockey) did not fully function. Other than that it was great.

Perfect for a group!
We had a great time! Perfect for a group. The only negative was that there were not a lot of cooking utensils in the kitchen so bring your own! Only 1 cookie sheet and no mixing bowls. Also the wifi wasn’t great and the wrong passwords were given on the sheets of paper. Great location, comfortable bedrooms, and enough parking.

Great stay and good time with friends.
We had a great weekend getaway. The check in process was a little rough only because it was not cleaned in time for check in time. Vtrips did make this right. We will book again.

Not Happy!
Upon arrival, we checked everything out on the inside of cabin. We noticed pool sticks broken, kitchen cabinets broken completely off, not 1 Tv worked in any of the 7 rooms, toilet paper holders broken off. Outta the 2 Hot tubs only one worked. Emailed and called the after hours maintenance with no response till next morning. Never got the call from the guy coming to fix TVs. So even though we had fun with family. The money spent for a weekend,I definitely was disappointed.

Family vacation
The whole family loved our stay in this property. We will defenetly tell all our friends about it. The only suggestion that i would have is about the garbage disposal. Garbage collectors should come by way more often and make sure they empty all of the containers instead of only picking up one container and leaving garbage all over the place for the bears to make a mess.

Awesome family gathering spot
Our family is still talking about the fun they had (all the way from ages 7 to 72)! The layout of the cabin was perfect for us. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and appliances. Beds were very comfortable. Loved the location - some scenery but was great to be in the Arts loop and comfortable distance to Gatlinburg. Loved watching the bear family (mom and 3 babies) from our balcony daily - due to poor trash pickup service that was not this properties fault. We learned to live with it since it gave us cute bears to watch. Would recommend this property to anyone!

Will never use this company again
None of the 3 upstairs bathrooms had hot water. The porch needed rock salt, our 59 year old guest slipped and fell down them. When booking this cabin, every search engine showed this cabin in a different location (which is the reason we chose this cabin) and SEVEN days before we are to leave, I get the address which is NO WHERE close to where it said it was when we booked. When I called about this, all I got was an offer to cancel our booking and a full refund. That is why people make reservations..... they need a place for a large group of people. Then the fact that I was talking with people in Florida about a cabin in Tennessee did not help.

Better Wi-Fi
Overall our stay was fantastic. However a few things.....the wi-fi was absolutely horrendous.. We only had 13 people in the cabin (said it sleeps 28) I couldn't imagine what the internet would be if there were actually 28 people trying to use it. We were there for a work trip but none of us could actually work at the same time. Also there were hardly any pans/pots to use but such a huge kitchen.

Nice property but.....
The Big Sky lodge is in a beautiful location and the size of the cabin was perfect for our family. There were many little things that were disappointing
1. Two king beds were broken
2. Shower didn't drain
3. The pillows were old and very dirty
4. Kitchen didn't have trash bags or towels
5. The pin ball machine was broken
6. Bugs and spider webs everywhere.
Not your typical vrbo. We had to go buy a lot of things that are normally provided like coffee filters, trash bags and even oven mitts. Not as secluded as it looks in pictures. Noisy neighbors deck was 50ft away. Beware if you Google big sky lodge the wrong address comes up that is on the opposite side of town. The large messy trash cans right in front provide ample opportunity to view the bears that live in the neighborhood. Overall our family had fun but would not probably stay at this same property again.

Perfect Lodge for Large Groups
This was our chosen location to meet up with 4 familes from 4 different states. The home was beautiful, in the perfect location from town and had plenty of games/activities for our children to occupy themselves with. The dining area is perfect for entertaining and feeding large groups. We loved the 4 king suites with pull outs, it was perfect for our group. Our only hiccup was on arrival, the AC unit for the 3rd floor had stop working. The property manager was very friendly and helpful through the whole experience. We submitted a maintenance request for repair, had to check on the request 3 hours later but it was finally repaired 4 hours later. Our suggestions would be to add some bakeware to the property as there wasn't any, updated directions to the wifi (the one on the paper and the one I was emailed are inaccurate), directions on how to set up movies in theaters and the tv in the bedrooms (only one that worked was in the double bunk room), more frequent pest control and there are nails popping up on the deck stairs that need to be fixed. Also a book on local attractions would be helpful. There is a black bear in the neighborhood so be aware! My husband was taking out the trash one night, noticed the dumpster lid was open and he turned to notice a large black figure up next to the trees with trash sprawled out everywhere. Thankfully he came back unharmed, and we were all able to see the huge black bear from the balcony, after moving one of our vehicles to shine the headlights on him. It was an amazing weekend for us and we would go back in a heartbeat!

Home was very nice and conveniently located
We had a great time at the Big Sky Lodge. Cabin was great for 25 people, would have loved to had a few more towels, more than one trash bag to start, and some instructions on the movie room setup, but all in all we had a great time here and enjoyed the fact that we could get here without going through Pigeon Forge and could use the Gatlinburg bypass to get downtown and avoid the traffic. I would definitely stay here again.

Spacious
The house is spacious and well built. My extended family (16 members) will enjoy ourselves in a cardboard box so we had a great time. This issues we were the lighting on the bottom floor didn't work, the wifi was not great and a lot of the furniture was damaged. Two chairs in the theater are badly ripped, two chairs around the dining tables were missing screws and some of the benches were weak and wobbly and the back of a bar stool of the top floor just comes completely out. There is a slight musty smell on the theater level. Maintenance did come to fix the lighting issues and customer service was pleasant.
With all that being said, none of that hindered our time together which is what's important. We came from 3 different states and our parents are all over 67 years old so our focus was to spend time together, laugh and make memories and we did just that. We will re-book this house and others through this company.
