Enjoyed the property! Extremely convenient location. Close to the beach and nearby shopping.

We had a great time in Carlsbad staying at this property. The enclosed yard was perfect for my young kids to explore. Walking distance to everything in the village. And Jim was super knowledgeable and very communicative.

Jim the owner and property manager has thought of everything you would want for a vacation at the beach. We brought our 2 dogs. The yard is perfect for dogs. It is fenced in and spacious enough to play fetch with our Labrador Retriever. Jim made check-in easy and was available for any questions. The house is 2 blocks from the Carlsbad boardwalk and walking distance to downtown Carlsbad. My husband and I stayed with our dogs over Christmas visiting relatives in Carlsbad. We will be back!

Great house close to the beach. Wonderful host!

This property was clean and well supplied with goodies and necessities. The neighborhood was quiet and close to town and to the beach. The yard was comfortable and attractive with art work and water features. Jim was very helpful and friendly, giving us info on hikes, dog friendly beaches and activities in town. Will recommend it to friends and family. Thanks Jim.

This cottage was amazing! Jim is a phenomenal host, it has everything you need, and a short walk to the beach and downtown Carlsbad Village. You can park your vehicle behind the front gate which is very safe and secure. Everyone in the area is super nice, the yard is very big, we were able to bring our dog and there were no concerns of her getting out. our family and dog will be back.

It was a wonderful cozy spot. Very private with cozy private outdoor spaces. Only a Short walk to the beach or to yummy restaurants. We’ll be back

This house is in the perfect location, quiet and walking distance to everything. The outdoor space is awesome and the house has everything you could possibly need for a beach getaway. Jim is the best host, he answered all my questions about the town and had great recommendations for local activities/eats...absolutely will be back!

Wonderful two week stay. So many thoughtful supplies provided by host Jim (surf and boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrella, wagon, s’more sticks for fireplace, etc…). It is clear that Jim wants the guests to enjoy themselves and love his part of Carlsbad. As a dog owner himself, Jim has made sure the yard is clear of dangerous plants, is secure (walls/gates), and welcoming for guests who want to travel with their hounds. Great stay! Thanks Jim!

Our favorite rental spot! We love the simplicity of the cottage and, our favorite, the outdoor aspect of this place! Jim is a great host and incredibly accommodating.

This place was everything the listing said and more! We really lucked out booking this! The location is great because you can walk to the beach and downtown Carlsbad, the house itself is wonderful with tons of beach amenities, and the host was communicative, kind, and went above and beyond for us! Plus we got to bring our dog! If you're thinking about staying here, I say do it!

My husband and I and are doggies had a wonderful stay… The home is lovely and the yard is wonderful, a peaceful oasis. We had everything we needed and Jim is an amazing host and a great guy… We will be back.

This was the perfect place for our little family and our dog. The outdoor area is really spacious and has great amenities like a fire pit and heaters near the outdoor table, plus an outdoor shower. We walked to the beach, to restaurants, shops--very convenient location. And inside we had everything we needed. We can't wait to come back again!

We enjoyed our stay in Jim’s little bungalow. It’s actually a duplex but you’d never know because it very private. The truly remarkable part of the property is the outdoors areas that have been set up so thoughtfully. There’s a large covered patio with a grill, patio heaters and the soothing sounds of a fountain. There’s another area for sitting around the fire pit, another with lounge chairs and yet another little out building. I love the beautiful murals of Carlsbad that have been painted on the exterior walls. It’s all pretty wonderful. Best of all, though, was Jim’s care and hospitality. He went above and beyond for us and it was a pleasure to meet him.

This property is gem! My wife and I stayed here for our first time 2016 as a couples getaway (left the kids with grandma & grandpa). But this time around we brought our three young kids along too; and they loved this place as much as we did. There’s a small outdoor bunkhouse where they did their “campouts”. They had a ball!

This is the perfect beach cottage, but there’s so much more to it than that. The inside is simple, very clean, well-equipped, functional – but the outside is the glory of this place, especially if you’re bringing a dog, as we did. Even though it was January, we spent all of our “at home” time outside, either playing with our dog in the woodchip covered side hard, enjoying the firepit (with unlimited logs), or using the patio heater to cut the chill of early morning coffee or evening dinner around the festive, party-light festooned covered dining/sitting area. And the host, Jim, is terrific: friendly, accessible, always eager to help, and extremely buttoned up about he place he’s renting to you. We had a great time – bet you will, too.

Loved our stay at Jim’s place! Just a couple of blocks to the beach with a great, private backyard perfect for outdoor dining and relaxing after a gorgeous day at the beach! Great for dogs since the yard is completely fenced. Clean with all the amenities. Access to laundry is a bonus for beach goers. Will definitely be back!

Overall great home and place for our family to spend time outside for nice meals and socializing. I will say though, the owner lives next door to the unit (shared walls of a duplex) and has 2 cameras on the property (1 Inside the property, and 1 outside the gate). He was kind but came over multiple times for check-ins and reminders of our stay there and quiet hours after monitoring us through the cameras. We had a respectful group including my grandparents and inlaws present with a sleeping newborn, no rager just a get-together with the family that left for their hotel at/before quiet hours (only 2 people stayed at the home). After checking out, he accused our group of taking his propane tanks prior to checking his own property (left in heaters and grill). Also, it's pet friendly but we picked up quite a handful of dog poop upon arrival around the yard. This place was worth it for the lot, but be prepared to be in a hands-on and supervised stay.

Clean, modest home located next to the home of the owner, Jim, who is very attentive and responsive. Excellent spot for a dog given large outdoor space, lots of roaming room. Location is great - two blocks from beach and a few blocks from the heart of Carlsbad. Lots of fun restaurants and shops nearby. We would definitely stay here again.

We showed up and greeted by the owner who told us all about the property. Plenty of room for our dog to run around and the bonfire and hanging lights were a nice touch!

The house is clean, the yard is amazing, my dogs had a great time as well as my husband and myself.

This property was absolutely perfect. It was quiet, private, and the outdoor spaces were spectacular (our dog loved it too!). And to top it off, Jim was a great host - friendly and accommodating. Everything about our stay was 5 stars. We will definitely be back!!!

This place is a gem! The outside areas are fantastic, and the house itself is more than sufficient for a couple. The owner was available and brought the dogs over at my request so we could meet them. Close to the beach, close to downtown...a perfect getaway destination.
