The view is amazing! You can hear the waves slapping on the shore. The house was clean and smelled fresh upon arrival. Hillside House is roomy - plenty of room for everyone to spread out and relax. Beach is close enough to walk - uphill climb on the way back 😊 The living room furniture is comfortable. The kitchen adequate. There is one in suite bath upstairs. The other upstairs bath is in the hall - between the other 2 bedrooms. Good floor plan. I have to emphasize the view again! Love it! Would stay again definitely!

Big home including two public spaces. Place was clean but dated. Beds comfortable (except ones with plastic covers) but pillows lacking . Great wall of windows looking out to ocean. Comfy living room furniture that seats seven and easy on/off gas stove. Management was quick to come fix a plugged dishwasher drain. Perfect upper level for an elder with limited mobility.

The front deck is showing wear and is scary. The carpeting throughout the home is in need of deep cleaning very badly, also bedspreads. Flooring tiles are coming up in the kitchen. Otherwise we enjoyed our time with relatives we dont often see ant the view cannot be beat. Thank you Meredith Properties.

View is amazing and home was very clean and comfortable. Beach is a short walk away, however, hill up to house is very steep and some folks may have trouble getting up/down. Kitchen floor is in need of repair as it is coming up in places and can be a trip hazard. Pool table needs re-felting and is not in good condition. Dryer is very noisy and needs repair attention.

The house allowed for very active toddlers and an ADA 87 year old! Hard to do. The house had all the needed amenities for cooking and relaxing. Loved the lazy boy couches and chairs! Basic but completely functional, great view, enough yard to run kids. Beds comfortable and enough for 8 adults and several kiddos. A bit of a walk DOWN to the beach and a hike UP the hill to house. But whale watching is successful from the deck!

My three brothers and I decided we wanted a getaway. One brother is battling cancer, and this may have been our last opportunity for a getaway that would include all four of us. It’s hard to gibd an ADA-friendly home at the beach, but this worked well. This home was lovely, with a beautiful view of the ocean. It’s pet-friendly and as expected, there were minor signs of pets. There were a few maintenance items that had been neglected, but communication with the management was fast and easy. I would definitely stay here again.

Great home for small family reunion. Walked to beach. Steep driveway and old pool table with no pool sticks you could use, no power in downstairs bedroom only complaints. Could use better fry pans too. Good sleeping for our group! Enjoyed the view and pur stay, thx!!!

The house was perfect

There was a great view from this home, and a short walk to the beach. The steep driveway was no fun!

The house ended up perfect for our family. The two suits are just bedrooms not with bathrooms. The bunk bed room also has another set of bunk beds with a bathroom attached which was really nice to have. They also have a new futon to sleep on. We enjoyed the pool table and the space. Some things are a little outdated and it had a smell but that didn’t bother us. The driveway is steep but didn’t mind much. I would suggest plastic wear for kids and an ice cream scooper. Also the garbage disposal to be fixed. Other then that we really enjoyed our stay! Beach access is maybe 5min walk down the road and Gods Thumb trail access is couple mins up the road. Beds were fine for us. Yes they had plastic on them to protect the mattress but didn’t bother us much. I would only suggest fixing the pictures and wording in the advertised house! Thank you again!

Lots of room for family to enjoy each other without tripping over each other. Beds were good, pillows were not. Shower handle was very hard to turn. All in all the view was so fabulous it didn’t really matter about the small faults

Really impressed for the amount of space and view for the reasonable price. House itself is good for my folks in their 90s. Accessibility bars, easy intro. Plenty of room, a level for the quieter folks and a level for the kids and louder ones. Kitchen well stocked dishes. Short walk to beach, short but steep hill driveway walk back

We had a really lovely stay at the Hillside house. The view is incredible. The kids enjoyed the pool table and contrary to previous reviews there were nice new stackable chairs in the garage for the patio. We found the plastic wrapped mattresses something to get used to but it only makes returning home to your own beds easier. Would def stay here again, worked great for two families.

I urge you to read, and believe, the previous reviews, most of it still applies. This house has such potential, and could get all outstanding reviews, if only a few things were attended to. These things would have a huge impact on great stay versus a mediocre one. We gave this a 3-star rating because most of the previous complaints haven't been addressed, as of September, 2020. For example, for a house that claims it can sleep 10, to only have 2 deck chairs on the outdoor deck is outrageous. This deck offers the best view around (and a great place to hang out during the Pandemic) but there are only 2 chairs to sit in. These were clearly an attempt to replace the rusted out ones that others had complained about. While they were plastic Adirondack style chairs, which is fine, there were only 2! There was also a chaise lounge on the deck that I wouldn't allow the dog on. Please get rid of it. The two thoroughly rusted tables, mentioned in previous reviews, should also go. It is worth mentioning that the toaster only toasted on one side of each slice. Not a big deal, but a nuisance. Easy to just replace the toaster and make life better. Also, the website mentions seating at the breakfast bar, but the stools are too high for the low counter. No one can really sit at the bar.The BBQ is a charcoal grill and quite small, especially for a group of 10.We had to call Meredith Lodging to find out what the WiFi info was and to locate the outdoor garbage can (don't laugh, it was halfway down the long driveway and it looked like it belonged to the neighbors) . These things should be listed on a sheet in the house to make check-in easier. Actually, this information usually is but for some reason this house didn't have anything available. We tend to go a little easy on the whole check-in process due to COVID, but these are simple things that could be implemented easily. The house could use some TLC and a DEEP clean! The bathroom in the upstairs bedroom needs the outdated shower door replaced and the shower head as well it was old and calcified. The lower level had a musty smell. Luckily we brought frebreeze fabric which helped. It's a great house but could be so much better if they update it and clean it better.

We loved the view of the sunset on the ocean. The downstairs has a bunk room that would be great for a large group. Only complaint is the pool cues were in sad shape. Please buy some new ones for a decent game.

The garage door opener does not work The light switch for the exterior door light in the back yard I think has a loose connection. This could be a fire hazard. Better have someone look at it asap. The mattress on the double bed in the N/W bedroom I think is about shot. I was not very comfortable in it. The exterior really needs some maintenance work

stunning hill side views/deck needs some attention/patio furniture should be thrown out/wood shed in the back is unsafe/living room couches warn /great space for large families/overall the location is great for being on the hillside with the views and a 5 min walk to the beautiful beach/5 min drive to town to pick up any stuff that is needed/central to drive to other towns to visit either way up or down the coast (newport,pacific city,tillamook)

Nearly perfect ~ Our only issues were sticky kitchen floor, rusty/broken deck chairs, dirty bbq. Otherwise the house and property were clean and so inviting! Wish we could have stayed longer and we will definitely be back!! Thank you!

With easy (no stairs) access to the main living quarters, this home was excellent for our matriarch. The young kids (and dogs) enjoyed the downstairs, with access to the large lower yard *Note the lower yard isn't fenced. The view pictures really don't do the view justice - it is full panorama of beautiful ocean view from the deck, as well as the upper living room. Hillside House is comfortable, but not posh, which was just fine for us - the dining room chairs wobbled a bit, the deck was bouncy, the TV was nothing fantastic (flat screen, no speaker bar). That being said, we were perfectly pleased with our stay. One real bonus was it's location at the end of Roads End means there was nearly no traffic to be heard our entire stay.
