I loved the breakfast. It was made hot and fresh daily. I enjoyed being able to choose what I had each day. It was fun meeting other guests over breakfast. I really enjoyed the Adirondack chairs at the edge of the lawn overlooking the river. I appreciated how easy checking in was.

I am used to more hands on hosts from a bed & breakfast. The home is cool but you enter through a back entrance in a section that was obviously added on so it isn’t a “oh wow” factor when you enter. You look for your envelope with keys then try to read signs on how to order breakfast, signing up for breakfast time and info on where your room is located. Imagine if, instead, we walked through the front door and were greeted by someone. There is the big staircase right inside door. It would have been awesome for someone to give you a quick tour of the mansion and some info on the history and background of the property. If a host showed you where dining room was, the family room, the library, etc then showed you to your room. It would have elevated the experience tons. There was nobody to ask where was a good place to eat or what tours they recommended, etc. we were kinda on our own. The patio had leaves and cobwebs everywhere. It is summer so the patio should have been cleaned for guests. You also got locked out when you went to patio.

Floors were not cleaned after the last person to stay there. There was a large wedding that weekend so parking was a worry.

The grounds were very well kept

Hearing walking around on the floor above me while trying to sleep. I do understand this is an older building. Also I believe my room was the only one on the first floor due to it being a whell chair accessible room. The locks were flimsy, but they did have a passcode entry. No other security.

Beautiful suite, breakfast was great, easy drive to town for dinner. Gracious hosts and a wonderful old mansion on the river made for a great stay! Second time there, enjoyed it once again. Have a drink in the library and catch a little history of the house and Harrisburg!

beautiful wonderful stay

The location was perfect , easy on and off of the highway and yet not on the highway. The premises themselves were beautiful and well maintained. It was a stately home in a perfect location overlooking the river. Parking was right there and plenty of it. The interiors of our suite were roomy, lovely and well cleaned. The mattress was most comfortable and little touches like the two bottles of Perrier were extra nice. There were lots of open spaces in the Inns, all beautifully appointed, to sit and enjoy yourselves in. I would have loved to have been able to spend more time just relaxing in one of the parlors.However, we were on our way to Florida and this was an overnight stop. Breakfast was good and plentiful in a dining room of the adjoining Inn house. We had met our neighbors the night before and ate breakfast with them and thoroughly enjoyed ourself. Plus at breakfast we got to meet the gracious owner who stopped in to chat after her morning exercise.

The location is stellar, right on the river, near downtown.

The door to the room was not hung properly, nor was the room soundproof. The entire room shook whenever any outside door was closed. It was impossible to sleep in the Valentina Suite we stayed in.
