Apartment Duodo or Barbarigo - San Marco CIN IT027042C2FOM5GM5P

The pictures do not do the place justice. If you would like an authentic historic experience, this apt is a dream for a Venice stay. We felt honored to have the apt available for our stay - wondering about all of the history of the space. Our group of 8 took a private water taxi from the train station to the Giglio stop, just a short walk to the apt. Rita met us at the stop and guided us from there. She is a wonderful hostess, very helpful with questions and guidance. She introduced us to the place and answered all questions - very professional and hospitable. She even provided some snacks. Apt had coffee, filters, kettle - enough to get started on day 1. Plenty of hot water, blankets, pillows, and AC worked well. Lovely tiny canal view and we could hear gondoliers singing from the apt. Apt very accessible - Couple minutes walk to restaurants, gelato, bars, water bus, taxi, gondola, shops. 10-15 minute walk to major attractions. Cannot recommend enough!

Rita was exceptionally helpful and organized both before we arrived and after. The apartment was very spacious with new bathrooms that had new large showers. The kitchen had everything needed, including a washing machine. The location is terrific with a convenient vaparetto stop.

Very nice and roomy apartment in Venice near St. Marks Square. Met at Vaparetto stop by property manager. She walked us thru the twists and turns to the property. Everything was nice. Had snacks and coffee for us. Roomy living room with large windows and small deck on a canal. Bedrooms were bright and roomy. Elevator/lift for our older guest and the bags. Recommend. Thank you for a nice stay.

First of all, Rita is absolutely the best! She went out of her way to make sure our arrival to Venice was stress-free even before we arrived. The property was gorgeous and in a perfect location. Plus, it was spotless and we had everything we could possibly need…snacks, linens, and clear directions for checking in and out. Best of all, we had access to an elevator! Rita was gracious enough to arrange transportation to the airport. Totally satisfied with our entire experience at this property. A million thanks to Rita!

This is the perfect Palazzo in Venice. We stayed with our 3 children. They couldn’t believe that we were able to book a piece of history. They kept asking how we were able to stay in a museum. The pictures don't do the apartment justice. It is gorgeous and located in the perfect location. We enjoyed opening the windows and listening to gondolieriers singing in the canal below. We loved the little bar aroynd the corner for breakfast. It is minutes to San Marco.
Rita was a wonderful host. She met us at vaporetto and walked us to the apartment. She gave us a list of restaurants (the ones we tried were very good) and answered our questions. Even though the apartment is historic, it had all the modern amenities. Rita provided hair driers, shampoo and conditioner, and soap for the dishwasher and washing machine. She also stocked the kitchen with coffee, tea, milk, and snacks. It was very thoughtful. I would absolutely book this apartment again.

This was our daughters first trip to Italy and this place could not have been better. The house was old world charm with current amenities. Lots of room to move around. Very quiet street, easy access to water taxis and only a block from the everything. Rita was fantastic to work with.

This worked perfect for us. Great location on little canal very close to city center. It’s a 700+ year old house. Very spacious.

As soon as we arrived, Rita greeted us at the home and had snacks for us in the kitchen. She arranged our transportation to and from the airport which was approx 90-120 euros each way. The water taxi dropped us of right in front of the home. The home was very clean. We felt like we were staying in a royal palace. We were approx a 5 minute walk to St Marks Square. We took a water bus to Murano, approx 15 min away, where we watched glass blowing which was awesome and free. We went to a restaurant Locanda Montin, approx 10 min walk from house it has a beautiful outdoor garden. Must try the scallops! We also ate at Rossodomodoro which was very good. Must get the bruschetta, very good. I went with my family of 7 adult kids and we were very comfortable. Overall our stay was exceptional! Highly recommended!!

Inadequate air conditioning!
The property was beautiful and had a wonderful location, however, it was only air conditioned in 3 out of 4 bedrooms and NOT AT ALL in the great room. This made gathering difficult and this family wanted to GATHER! So disappointing....

We were very satisfied with our recent stay in this magnificent and spacious apartment very near the Giglio vaporetto stop on the grand Canal. The Apartment was exactly as described but because it was an old building it had a few quirks in that some doors didnt shut properly and the handle on the upstairs ensuite was faulty when one of our members was in the en suite. We understand this has been repaired. We were a family of eight over three generations and could certainly recommend this beautiful apartment. The lift was a necessary advantage for the older generation and for transporting luggage. . The Giglio vaporetto stop was very convenient for travelling up or down the Grand Canal and to shops at Arsenale or Casa DOr. Nearby squares are very convenient with plenty of bars and restaurants with St Marks Square being within easy walking distance.

Great place to stay when in Venice
We LOVED our stay the Venice apartment. Rita was gracious and very accommodating;. so helpful in every way. The flat was within easy walking distance from St. Mark's Square. The apartment was gorgeous and we almost felt a bit like we were staying in the Doge palace. I'd highly recommend this flat for anyone traveling to Venice.
