Really helpful receptionist

The breakfast was excellent - fresh, tasty food (though some of the cooked foods weren't as warm as they could've been, but they were still good) with lots of options, and there was always plenty of everything no matter what time we had breakfast. Good coffee too. The room was comfortable - we booked the one with a separate sitting area which was definitely needed. Everything was clean, tidy and comfortable. Good shower with strong water pressure. The staff were also very friendly and helpful, going out of their way to help us (we needed an ice pack for a wrist injury after a slip on some black ice and they were very helpful and considerate). Also super easy to order taxis, and the location was good - only a 5-10 min walk max from the meeting points for the various excursions we did and was right by the main street. Check in and out was super easy and straight forward.

There needs to be more storage space in the rooms - given that we had all of our winter gear, there was limited space to put anything, and little shelf space especially in the bathroom. Our room faced the internal courtyard so was quiet enough (an option we were given at check in) but a street-facing room may have been a little noisier. It's not exactly cheap, but that seems indicative of everything in Norway rather than specifically this hotel. Also the Chromecast was a little temperamental, but that's a pretty small issue.

Great location and breakfast.

Our twin rooms were small, but i was prepared for this by reading the reviews, but we didn’t spend a huge amount of time in them. The beds were super comfy and clean. Bathroom and shower was really good and clean and new. The breakfast however was fabulous, there was everything you could wish for. The staff were calm and friendly, and should be congratulated on their breakfast service.

It was an amazing breakfast everything you come wish for. The breakfast was on until 11am which was great. Very clean.

The location was central. The buffet breakfast was good.

The room was tiny. And cold. I went to reception to ask how to turn up the heat and was told to “adjust it under the window”. (She meant the radiator). She then said she’d told the bosses about the rooms being cold but he wanted the settings left as they are due to the cost of electricity! Also, the staff need to be knowledgeable about local attractions. I asked where the Christmas markets were and she had to google it. Told me they’re near the ferris wheel. Wrong…there was nothing there! Discovered the markets ran off the Main Street. We were there mid December and there was about 4 stalls! Wouldn’t stay here again.

I liked the location. It is close to everything yet not in the middle of the waterfront. Easy walking to sightsee or the waterfront.

Over the weekend there are a lot of partying people close to the hotel until 4 AM so make sure you have your ear plugs with you

The superior room was quite small.

The central location of the hotel, the view, the bed, the nespresso coffee.

The hotel charged extra 400 nok on arrival for extra cleaning of the room benauwd of my dog. This was not mentioned while booking. So I overpaid. On booking.com they mention they have parking but they don’t. There is just a parking around the corner which costs another 300 nok per day. Then the room was very hot. 23 degree celsius. Not sustainable. I could not adjust it . I got error e2 when doing this. Furthermore the desk lamp was not working and the waterheater was leaking. The bathroom was a bit cramped.

The location was superb and the hotel was clean and comfortable.

The parking provision. we were travelling by motorbike and understood there to be secure parking nearby. On arrival this turned out to be an open gravel area that was not secure but was expensive or we were told there was free parking along a side street on a hill, not practical for a motorbike! The hotel staff were polite but dismissive when asked if there were any other options. However, thankfully the bike was safe for our 2night stay.
