Overall food was poor, we had dinner the first night and it could have been warmer. Just standard of food needs to be better

The staff were friendly with the room pleasant (nice shower)and the location was convenient for my work. Dinner was excellent (especially the burger) with quite a nice breakfast (but see below)

It was good to see that a heater/air-con unit had been installed in room 1 (it was cold the last time we stayed) although you had to be a nuclear physicist to work out how to work it! The bed was not that comfortable (I asked for a double for me and my wife) as it was two singles jammed together with an annoying lump in the middle. On the one evening we ate in the hotel the floor was filthy and we moved to the area downstairs. Breakfast was our main problem. Given that only one person is serving and there is no buffet for cereals/coffee and juice, on both mornings I had time-pressures in getting to work as the service was far too laid-back. If someone is going to ask for breakfast at 7.45am it is pretty obvious that they are going to have to get to work. Surely a buffet table with continental stuff out would avoid this and then the waitress can just ask what hot food is required? That said, it was nice when it arrived but I would have liked more time to enjoy it! I asked if there was muesli (for the third time) but still no joy. The breakfast menu is very confusing as to what is included and what is an extra 75p or so - even the lady who served us couldn't understand it!

The staff were so friendly and helpful (Chris in particular!). Really helped to make our stay. The food was lovely and we’re able to cater to gluten and dairy free diets. The shower and bathroom facilities were amazing!

Room had no natural light. Lacklustre staff.

Faux leather on headboard wearing off, could do with replacing as it makes the room look tatty. Ensuite Bathroom a bit small.

Breakfast wasn’t available at the time I needed it and couldn’t be left out for me. I was offered and accepted two porridge pots.

(Didn't like?) Staff could do with a bit more training how to look after paying guest before general public when looking to have food. Saying all that overall not a bad time. P.S after travelling long distance like 8 Hrs +.. Kid's breakfast could do with more options in sted hot meals?
