Parking really busy, mould in windows and a lot of water condensation, someone drop down bootle for disable route. In my opinion we pay for view only, not for standard room. No time for comments more things......

Fantastic location on Lake Windermere. Stunning views. Warm, good facilities and a great price for a private room. Showers were hot and although shared they are in private locked rooms not in shared cubicle type rooms. Great bus service runs from just outside. The bar is lovely, good food and beautiful views. The drying room is excellent and kitchen facilities are good. Wifi was decent, was supposed to just be available in communal areas but I could access it in my third floor room most of the time A brilliant budget option in a superb location.

I like everything about the hostel itself. Being a hostel obviously there are other people, 95% of whom are nice, tidy and considerate. Bear in mind however that not all are and there is the chance of some mess and noise. But it is not the hostel's fault that some folk have no manners! If you are sensitive to noise take earplugs.

I enjoyed staying at Ambleside Hostel. Close to buses/ferries that can take you to many parts of the Lake District also proximity to shops, restaurants and bars.

The down stairs WC was not clean and the upholstery really need attention.

The location is superb, the facilities are to cook and games.

The location was great right next to the pier and a short walk to Ambleside village (20 mins). The breakfast was good value - cooked breakfast with continental included for £9.95. I had the veggie option. The food in the restuarant was cheap and cheerful. It was good except the guacamole on the nachos. The mac n cheese was lovley and so were the chips. The room was clean and tidy with large lockers for clothing (bring your own padlock, if needed). The staff were helpful with guiding us to additional parking nearby (free after 6pm, up until 9am the following day) and informing us of nearby walks.

The location is amazing, just in front of the lake, so you can swim literally in front of the hotel You can rent kayak and paddle boards 1 step away from the hotel and 2 steps away you can rent electric boats or get a nice boat trip. Staff was very nice. No luxuries here but all clean and tidy. The restaurant had very fair prices.

Only thing will be the issue with the parking, is too small gets full very quick and is impossible to park on the near area.

From start to finish the the staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was ideal for my needs and the breakfast in the morning was very nice too. It has a great location on the shore of Lake Windermere.
