Venus the receptionist was the only good thing about this hotel

The apartment was nothing like pictures. The main bathroom had one sliding door, water went absolutely everywhere . Aircon didn't work properly. The fans on the ceiling did not work in one room properly , the other one was hanging off ceiling . There was a standing fan in the wardrobe to use for main room and it was broken inside . The ensuite had water damage all under sink . It was that bad we left a night early , only stayed for one night . We had to drop keys back off next morning and when we went to make sure everything was grabbed from the room , there was a woman passed out on the stairs , for goodness knows how long . I was shocked to how bad the accommodation was and I paid a fair amount of money to stay there , plus had to leave a deposit of $200 . I am so disappointed. Would definitely not recommend.

we hired a roll away for our son. They provided “one” sheet and a pillow case. There was no pillow to put in the pillow case and no top sheet left. The poor child had to sleep with a beach towel on top of him because there was no sheet that I could give him. The pillows on “every” bed were absolutely not acceptable. Not one of us had a restful sleep. We had to try and sleep with our arms under the pillows to try and elevate the pillows and also added a bath towel underneath in the hopes that would help. All pillows need to be replaced. We left after first night one night early because we slept so poorly. Feedback on the unit. The bathrooms although may have been cleaned by the cleaners are completely run down and do not appear clean. They need to be upgraded ASAP. not one of us wanted to use them. The dishwasher has a pungent smell that I tried to fix by running a long wash through it. it didn’t improve.

There were people next door that would make noise at all times of the night. The master bedroom bathroom needs a privacy door and a ceiling fan.

Noise between apartments

The place itself was very spacious and the rooms were nice and comfy. Rather than restricting us with samples of items like; soap, washing up liquid, a few rolls of toilet roll, sachets of coffee and sugar. It might be more of a homely touch and more convenient to actually just put out normal size items!

Having $50 taken out of our deposit because we didn't take the bins out downstairs! We took each bin bag out of each bin and put them all neatly in one area, all separated from recycling to normal rubbish, as we weren't aware of where the main bins were in the complex.... and shock! (sarcasm) we got charged $50 for a 'cleaning fee'.

For a budget apartment that slept 6 people, it was very good for the price. There were a few things that could be improved, cleanliness wise. The kitchen utensils weren’t clean, ie: food stuck to the knives. Containers and plates greasy and not washed properly. And washing machine was full of towels from previous tenants. None of this really detracted from the quality of our stay. And were easily rectified, but not very hygienic.

Apartment needed a lot of maintenance work, was very disappointed.

The pool facilities were great, and it is in a great location - short distance to Cavill Ave & Pac Fair etc. The other big plus for us were the Reception staff - I have never stayed anywhere that the Reception staff were so lovely and accommodating. Prior to arrival and due to the current lockdown in QLD, Venus was very attentive in ensuring to keep us updated about our options in regard to if lockdown was extended over Easter - luckily it wasn't. On arrival, we had several issues which Jodie was absolutely fantastic in sorting out promptly for us to ensure we could enjoy our time away. Both Jodie & Venus were such lovely people and obviously really care about their guests.

Our check-in was supposed to be at 2pm, unfortunately we got a call advising us that the cleaner had not realised we were checking in that day and thought it was the next day so our room wouldn't be ready until around 4:30pm. This made it hard seeing as we were already at the Coast ready to check-in at 2pm, we had cold/frozen food in the car, it was a public holiday so everything was closed - we did get slightly compensated because of it which was nice, but then when we did get to our room, the cleaner hadn't put any pillow cases on any pillows, they had re-used dirty and very soiled bed cover, and when my daughter went to cook dinner that night we smelt a really strong toxic smell and when I looked in the oven we realised the cleaner had sprayed oven cleaner in there and never wiped any of it out - so we couldn't cook our dinner that night. We informed Jodie the next morning, who very promptly came and fixed everything up for us and apologised. Our unit was fairly comfortable, although pretty rough around the edges as far as the painting goes. There is a Backpackers lodge next door who have get togethers every night and are really loud, which makes it quite hard to sleep, unless you're a heavy sleeper.
