Excellent location in Centro…walk to restaurants, galleries, Malecon. Quiet and comfortable with a lovely inner courtyard, and considering how close it is to the centre not too noisy at night.
We liked everything although I would have liked a larger pool and a heated hot tub but probably need to go to the beach resorts for that.

This is a one bedroom apartment at an exceptional price in the old city. Loved it.

The property is extremely well appointed, comfortable and quiet. It was extremely hot during our stay and the pool was a welcome addition. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. The property is an easy walk to the malecon and beach front and very close to some excellent restaurants.

In the quiet part of Mazatlan, the old town, quaint restaurants and slower pace. The hotel belt is frenetic and loud along the malecon, but Villa Serena is far removed and yet still close.
Zero complaints.

The hotel was decorated in traditional Mexican style and had beautiful Bougainvillas. The rooms were large and well equipped. the beds were comfortable and the artwork on the walls was colorful and appropriate.

This is a very walkable location and the place has a lot of character and is very comfortable - I just don't want to leave. The staff is great as well as a group of vacationers that come every winter and stay here.
There was some work being done at a nearby location that was pretty loud for a couple of hours.

Great location and beautiful
No loungers available, the windows don't close, and it was noisy.

Via Serena accommodation is self sufficient with kitchen. There are plenty of good restaurants 2 mins. away and many others to explore. The staff at Villa Serena are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, the bed very comfortable. Via Serena is a great place to stay.
I have nothing to complain about, nothing I don't like.

I loved this hotel so much I wrote a blog about it. It's a whole lovely experience. I had dinner in the dining room overlooking the garden. My friends came to visit me in the salon, and a staff member helpfully suggested we retire to the garden, which was lovely. Only thing was I couldn't concentrate on the conversation because I was thinking of the REAL bathtub in the room (it had armrests). My room was large, with REAL furniture, lots of wood (in Mexico!). Breakfast was lovely and I overheard other guests talking about how much they'd enjoyed their stay. I told my friends that whenever I came to visit them in Guadalajara, THIS was where they'd find me.
Nothing. It was perfect.

The location was perfect for walking to the beach and to restaurants. Even stores were easy to access. Marta was extra helpful and makes you feel at home. She even arranged a cab for our departure. Awesome. What a lovely time!

Super nice hosts! The pictures are accurate, it’s really clean and very very pretty. There’s lots of nice quiet spots to sit outside. I loved spotting the cats! Totem is next door and is delicious would stay here again!
The internet was not great, it only worked sometimes and neighbors next to the building had music BLASTING. There is no salt / oil / paper towels etc in the kitchen—if you cook be prepared to buy or supply all of that. The Jacuzzi wasn’t heated.

Staff were always smiling and pleasant.
No hand towels or washcloths in the room. I asked for some and they never came. Sent a message to the owners and they didn’t respond. Just two bath towels even though it’s a beach town and we asked twice for the smaller towels. Wi-fi did not work at all. Listing says there is a hot tub. It is not heated or bubbly. Was really looking forward to that part of the stay. Windows have wood shutters with screens which is quaint and historic but also let’s all the cigarette smoke from the courtyard into your room. No lounge chairs in the courtyard- just plastic chairs and one table full of smokers who sat there day and night (long-term renters). Wish smoking was restricted to roof top because with several smokers it got pretty stinky in our room. I really wanted to be excited about this place but it was a let down.
Staff were nice and the location was great. But overall, it did not add any joy to our vacation by staying there.

The location was good. Central.
Cleaning staff were friendly.
Marta was great!
Smoking allowed ! Had to walk thru main smoking area coming and going everyday. Smell of smoke wafted up to our room.
Water pressure in first room just a trickle. Had to wait 3 days to move to another room.
We were given a studio first when we paid for a 1 bedroom.
Rooms have very minimal amenities. No hand towels no facecloths. No cooking utensils. No bath mat.
Poor communication. Had to email manager and he never responded. Cleaning staff spoke no English.
Oven did not work. Very noisy.
Pool in main entrance courtyard but only a plunge pool. Not very private. Jacuzzi cold.
This place could be much nicer with a better attention to detail. Had a full kitchen but no cooking utensils like spatula, sharp knife, large spoon. Potato peeler. No tea towels or dish soap. Pitiful! No teapot
No wine glasses in first room.
Wifi was terrible most of the time
Bathroom had no counters. Very tiny.
Paid way too much for what was offered.
No laundry facilities.

The roof top terrace with a beautiful view to the sunrise. The Villa had beautiful decor and lots of beautiful plants. Very Close to some Cafes and Restaurants. Also one street over from some amazing street tacos. The host was amazing and very hospitable. We felt safe & the property was very clean.
Guest should probably be given instructions in regards to the rooftop Jacuzzi and the additional rooftop seating areas.

The location and concept
First able, the hotel does not have a reception, you need to call or yell to be noticed in the entrance, After a worker noticed my presence in the street he called someone. I got my keys, no payment was collected, due the fact the person in charge of the payment was not working that day. my payment was collected in the 3rd day. No internet code was given upon arrival, no ID was asked, later on, at night I tried to open my room and I could not do it, due the fact the key given to me belonged to other room, I waited almost for 20 minutes to get help. The person in charge said that the keys need to be very well taking care because they do not have spare keys. The people complain because you even can not have your alarm or music on, because the windows and rooms are not sealed properly, if you want to sleep after 7.00 am forget it, conversations from the corridor and patio can be heard in your room even with the windows closed. The room was cleaned only one time upon request but if you do not requested wont be done, paper toilet paper, soap and shampoo must be requested daily, in the hotel exist a big lack of service. not service at all.

The location was good and the Villa type setting was adorable. The owner seemed nice before we come to realize we were nothing more than another American guest to take as much money from as possible and give little in return.
The small apartment came with no type of maintenance materials such as broom & dust pan, dish detergent, dish towel, and only one roll of toilet tissue and only 2 bath towels, no hand towels. We were there for only 6 days and didn't feel we should be responsible for purchasing these items to leave behind, only to have the lady over maintenance take what was left leaving the next person having to make the same purchases. We paid almost $500 for this place plus apparently the owner charged a percentage for credit card use. We definitely did not feel we got our money's worth.
