Excellent reception and the hosts were amazingly helpful and forthcoming. The breakfast was the typical French with the renowned baguette, marmelade, tasty home-made yogurt, coffee and pastries. We took additionally two dinner (three course menu) cooked directly by the host who proved to be an excellent chef. The room was very spacious, super clean and serviced daily, with an option to change the towels at our convenience. We've got very helpful trip advice, tailored to our profile (car/bike/castle visits). Overall, an excellent acquaintance, hosting and cooking.

Nice continental breakfast in very pleasant dining room. We had three dinners that were all excellent with good choice of wines all at very reasonable prices. Bruno and Valerie are very friendly hosts that made us feel much at home

An elegant, beautifully-furnished house with friendly, helpful owners. Well-located for visiting the chateaux and vineyards of the Loire. Breakfasts and dinners were all good.

Better suited to couples than families

The whole place was Immaculate. We Liked the fact we could use the kitchen space and appreciated the tea & coffee tray in the room. We opted for evening meals where the host Bruno cooked excellent food for us and at very last minute. We were also offered a great wine selection. The host could not do enough for us.

Nice quiet location. Delicious breakfasts and evening meals. We liked the wine list which enabled us to try out lesser known local wines.

This place deserves a 10++ in all aspects. The room is very very special as well as the gourmet meals. After our first dinner we decided to have dinner there every night (7-nights). Never ate the same dish at dinner. The owners Valerie and Bruno are very nice people. It looks like they have thought about every detail and they put their hearts into this place. They have recommended to us where to go every day, based on our preferences. We had a wonderful vacation, and we will definitely go back.

Good and spacious room. We had the table d’hotes and asked Bruno for his wine recomendations, which made us taste and drink amazing wines. Rented a bike and had a lovely tour ro the Loire and around the vinyards. Bruno and Valerie are very kind people.

We enjoyed an unforgettable 4 night stay at La Dixmeresse during our month long trip to France. The owners are warm, accommodating, and patiently negotiate any language barriers with you. Our room was spotless, spacious, and luxurious; one of the very best during our trip. Breakfast is excellent, but the real highlight is dinner, and particularly Bruno’s outstanding selection of wines from small volume producers, both reds and whites. Oh, and the very best cheese selections we had during our trip were served at both meals! The location is perfect for exploring the Loire sights west of Tours and a must if you enjoy Cabernet Franc!

Although we were there in August, I suspect Restigne is sleepy any time of the year without a lot to offer apart from wine. I would recommend a two night stay at La Dixmeresse, sightseeing east and west when arriving and departing with a fun day of wine tasting in between. Do have your dinner there as it’s too far to drive after eating elsewhere and the meals and wine are a superb value.

Every aspect of our stay was absolutely PERFECT! Valérie et Bruno were the ultimate hosts and delivered way above our expectations. The food and wine were outstanding! So complementary and delicious! Loved that we were eating local products and direct from their garden. Bruno provided detailed information about the wines and was highly skilled at matching every dish to perfection! The room was beautiful and quiet, tastefully appointed with homely touches. They also provided us with recommendations on where to go if you have children and what to visit! Their suggestions were spot on! I can not recommend La Dixmeresse enough! An absolute must! 10/10... Do not pass on dinner, it is a wonderful experience! Thank you Valérie & Bruno!!!
