there was unfortunately quite a big group who made quite a lot of noise but this is not the fault of the hotel. What we were also disappointed about were the quality of fruits at breakfast. They were not sweet at all, rather on the contrary, not ripe and sour and that is definitely not necessary in Kenya as we had wonderful sweet fruits at South Coast.

It was very Italian, light, clean and well laid out. Lovely spacious rooms ….. bedroom, lounge area and super balcony. Bathroom also good. We were in a first floor room which we loved and looked down onto one of the swimming pools through palm and flame tree leaves. The staff were excellent ….. always had a smile and cheerful greeting and were happy to help. Plenty of sun beds,comfy sofas and enormous squashy cushions to lounge around on and enjoy the sea breeze. Wonderful to be right on the beach. Do not be out off by the concrete look, it works really well!

We were disappointed with the restaurant….. the menu was a bit samey when it came down to it. I was hoping to have daily fresh fish and although Catch of the Day was offered it turned out to be barracuda on our first night and every night there after. Fresh fish just needs to be cooked well and served simply and not marinaded to death! Part of the delight in staying in an hotel on the beach, you expect to have a variation on Catch of the day and have super fresh fish.

Really friendly staff and lovely surroundings, it has been furnished beautifully and has a fresh modern feel to it.

Every bit as beautiful as we'd remembered from 5 years ago. Kobe is in a great, location at the quiet end of a long sandy beach. The fabulous sandbar exposed at low tide right on the doorstep and whilst other stretches of the beach were covered in weed the strip outside kobe remained mostly clear. With Mida Creek and fascinating rock pools exposed at low tide a short walk away, a small local market next door and plenty of tuktuks available for trips around Watamu the slightly out of the way location was not an issue. The entire hotel was in exceptionally good condition and staff were constantly working to keep the property looking its absolute best. We had an ocean view room and were delighted with the size, comfort and spec of the room. The newly refurbished upstairs rooms with lovely balconies even better. Staff throughout the hotel were observant, proactive, friendly and exceptionally helpful. They take pride in what they're doing and we enjoyed chatting with many of them. All in all we had an amazing stay.

Our only slight disappointment was the onsite restaurant. On a previous stay the food had been exceptional. This time the menu was bland and uninteresting and the food lacked creativity and added nothing to our stay.

The extensive menu was good and we enjoyed our n meals. The limited supply of free drinking water was a 'no-no' but after complaining they provided more.

The hotel had too much concrete although it's situation immediately above the beach is excellent. Rooms a bit dated.

Top! Everything on every level, the staff, the food, the facilities, 10/10. I immediately booked another weekend for the following month. I can't say enough. It's a whole vibe.

Despite that throughout Kenya the electric plug sockets used are the type G, which is the plug that has three rectangular pins in a triangular pattern at Kobe Resort the plugs sockets are the 3 pin Italian type L. The positioning of the plug sockets in the rooms is not well thought out. For example there are only single plug sockets by either side of the beds in the poolside rooms. Meaning that a mobile phone or other device cannot be plugged in at the same time as the bedside light. There is no plug socket above the table on the wall where the kettle is positioned. This means moving the kettle every time one wants to use it to heat water. All the plug sockets are single sockets. There are no USB style phone charging sockets. The water in the bathrooms cannot be used in the kettles to make tea or coffee. There is no sign warning of this and it is not mentioned when the verbal room briefing is given. There is no room service provided at all. One was not able to order a drink with a mixer without having to purchase a large bottle of the mixer. This if one wanted a single shot of brandy with ginger ale one had to buy a whole 300ml bottle of ginger. Ditto tonic, coke etc as mixers. If one wanted a single Ricard (Pastis) one was expected to buy a whole large bottle of water when all that was required was a small amount.

rooms were rather dark even during the day. all of the staff were very sweet except the owner/manager who was very uncompromising and made us feel unwelcome.

The location of this Italian-managed boutique hotel is ideal; the rooms are very spacious and the restaurant is a delight thanks to the Italian signature. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

During the day, many guests come from other hotels on a day-use basis. The beach boys reserve the sun loungers by the pool and facing the beach for these day guests and refer the hotel guests to the rear pool without a view of the sea. The management takes note of this and you have to insist resolutely that you can also use these loungers as a hotel guest - unfortunately a stale aftertaste. After staying 6 days in little Italy we missed an African feeling.

The setting is beautiful and the room and facilities reflected the pictures. The food was really good.

The rooms are very basic. There was no separate bed option for my teen daughter in a double room.

The hotel was welcoming, comfortable and in a good location. The food was delicious and the staff efficient and friendly. We very much liked our Room 2 and will hope to return to 2,3 or 4 in the future. The main reason is the breeze blowing in from the sea.

That part of the beach is really nice. Great access. The food was delicious and the rooms really spacious and comfortable.

The swimming pool has quite a lot of clorine in it and the rooms were a little sparse. A carpet would have been nice!

Kobe is located on the stunning Garoda beach. Best location in Watamu. Food is superb.

Great place with spacious suites. The restaurant had a lot of choices for meals, quiet ambience ideal for a quiet holiday to unwind from the hustle and bustle, personalized service, very friendly staff and clean place. Will definitely be back!!

It was great! Although the wifi could be better... and also consider having a wider selection for breakfast
