The location is great, beds comfortable, especially the pillows! Quiet for a hostel and rooms are private and well equipped. Lovely log fire going in the main entrance which is nice. People who run the hostel are polite and friendly.

Not much to not like really. 2 used towels in the bedroom, I am suspecting they forgot about them hanging on the back of the bedroom door when cleaning from previous guests. Could use a bowl or 2 and couch not very comfortable to sit on but pretty minor really, overall pretty good place to stay.

OUr space was quiet, super clean, beds were very comfy. Staff very warm and welcoming. Kitchen very well equipped with lots of utensils. Well organised.

The beds were very firm which is uncomfortable for me, but I do have back issues so this is something that is an issue for me in a lot of places I stay.

Place was clise to town so everything was accessible by foot...very quiet area with mountain views...Enjoyed relaxing in hanmer pools.

Got a private room...No fan in the bathroom when u shower. And an oven would've been nice. But we managed ok.

This is a very cozy lodge with all the facilities you need when travelling lightweight or on a budget. The kitchen had everything you needed including coffee plungers and a basics like instant coffee, tea, sugar and cooking oil. The beds were comfortable and the room warm, and the fireplace was going in the shared lounge in the evening and morning. Everything was very clean - bedroom, shared bathroom and kitchen. Best of all it is very close to the excellent hot springs and the village for places to eat and drink. You can also buy discounted vouchers for the pools at the lodge but they had run out on my visit.
