The decor was beautiful but that’s about it
There was no lift to bring the bags. There was no assistance from staff or anyone manning the desk. We locked the door by accident one night and the next morning the owner shouted at my elderly mother about it. The room was awful with a staircase in the middle that was dangerous. We were both freezing cold each night as the room was cold and there wasn’t enough bedding on the beds. There wasn’t even a chair to sit on in the room.
We had an issue with the final day as a photoshoot was taking place from 8.30 am until 6.30 with people shouting and running around outside the room. We came back mid afternoon to get some rest and asked the people doing the photoshoot to keep it down and told us to shut up. We couldn’t even get through to any of the hotel staff or call as no one was there so we ended up calling booking.com for help. The place is overpriced and the staff are appalling except the lady who made the breakfast and cleaned the rooms she was exceptionally nice

Beautiful rooms in an old villa. Our room was 2 stories. The breakfast every day was huge, very nicely prepared by Sara. And brought to our room on a separate rolling table. She even arranged for lactose free milk products
Aircon was a bit too small for the big room with two floors.

A unique property of character in great location to visit Herculaneum. We could easily walk to the ruins. Warm welcome and amazing breakfast with very friendly and helpful staff Great to have secure parking as well. A hidden gem.
It took us some minutes to find the right entrance!

Amazing to be able to step back in time and stay in an originally decorated 18th Century Villa. BUT, at the expense of it feeling a bit grubby and unloved. No side tables beside bed, and a rather tacky modern 2nd bathroom, to name a couple of faults. As a one-off stay it is perfect, as we could forgive all faults due to the experience of staying in a ‘museum’ level Villa. It is totally unique, and a great PLUS for us was their sister restaurant across the road that served quality food and wine, at a fair price. Another plus is that it is on the Golden Mile. and in walking distance of the Herculaneum Archaeological site, and Torre Del Greco for coral jewellery. The staff were very friendly, but not always there, and the property suits more independently minded travellers who enjoy quirky Italian style stays rather than sleek hotels.
Please see above. Needs a little more care and attention to detail to enhance the phenomenon experience of staying in 1780’s authentic room and marbled bathroom.
But property is in overall state of decay. Smells a bit musty.
Any refurbishments done seemed rather cheap and tacky in quality, which extenuated the and highlighted the contrast with the opulence of the Villa’s original decor. We hope the investment can be found to sensitivity renovate the Villa, without destroying the incredible history that has been untouched since 1780s, and save this unparalleled piece of history for generations to come.

The staff were friendly, recommended a pizzeria just down the road which was great. Lovely old building. We were lucky to have parking inside because it wasn’t easy to find a space close by. This worked for us as a first stopover from Naples airport
The split level room, difficult to get suitcases up the stairs, we knew about the stairs to the property but didn’t realise the bathroom was split by amazing spiral stairs to the bedroom upstairs.

The bottom floor is noisy, even at nights,(i recommend earplugs for light sleepers) and the left side of the bed creaks

Unique design of the whole facility and our appartment. Very close acces to Herculanum, archeological site. Perfect breakfast in historical sourrandings.
We had the diffuculties with getting inside - no one picked up the phone and entry phone, the gate was close. Finally we saw we got the message from the owner, but it was sent a bit late.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. They were able to accommodate my husband's gluten free diet. Our rooms were stunning.
I wish that it was located closer to the train station, which is somewhat uphill from the hotel.

The place is beautiful
What wasn't shared is
A) lots of steps to go up to main floor and no elevator
B) in the room itself we had to climb another set of stairs as bed in beautiful loft area separate from bathroom
Not convenient at all.
The other rooms were flat..beautiful..
It is a special feel there
Entrance to parking amd villa a bit run down but interior is beautiful

The rooms are large and clean. The breakfast is quite good. The location is convenient. And the owner has a restaurant that has received a Michelin guide for three years in a row as well.
Queen room is the side that is next to the side street at night and early in the morning there will be noise from Motorcycle.

The villa is a step back in time, an absolutely gorgeous place, perfectly suited to anyone visiting Pompeii or Ercolano. You enter through a courtyard and then up a flight of winding stone stairs, only to find yourself in a high-ceilinged, luxurious yet cozy house, with stunning rooms and the loveliest welcome. Even the bathrooms are photo-worthy! The breakfast was a generous spread of pastries, fruit, excellent coffee and some of the best orange juice I have ever had! Staff members were warm, welcoming and very helpful. You can walk to the Ercolano Ruins (how many times will you be able to do that in life?), and Pompeii is an easy 15 minutes away by car. We found an excellent pizzaria down the street, and the owner also welcomed us for dinner one night at the Michelin-approved restaurant Viva lo Re, right across the street from the villa, where we had one of the best meals of the trip. This was our 25th anniversary celebration and it really could not have been in a more beautiful setting! Grazie mille per tutto!
Strictly nothing. You would have to split hairs four ways to find something to say about the place.

This huge historic palace-like family Villa is being bought back to its former glory through careful renovation, in an area that once must have been very grand. Now a perfect location for visiting the ruins (and unexpected opposite a wonderful Michelin starred restaurant). Lovely staff and fantastic breakfast!
Beautiful historic stone staircase up to the Villa entrance so would be an issue for people requiring easy mobility

To stay in an old palazzo is a privilege. Thank you Terezza and Claudia for your warm hospitality and your kindness.
There were some stairs to reach the apartment. But it was normal for the old palazzo.

It was simply outstanding. An utterly beautiful place to stay and extremely convenient for visiting Herculaneum and Pompeii. The owner also has the restaurant across the street which offers fantastic food. All the staff were warm and friendly and helpful. The breakfast was terrific too.
It was faultless, but be aware that there aren’t many options for dinner nearby (though you could happily eat at the owner’s restaurant every night).

The Villa Durante is located very near the Herculaneum excavations. It is an easy walk from the B&B and you can leave your car there while you visit the scavi.
The B&B is an apartment which is part of the piano nobile of an 18th century villa. The common rooms are very large and beautifully decorated with frescoes and paintings. The tiled floors are magnificent and worth the trip by themselves. We did not see any of the other rooms but our room, the Sanfelice, was ample and the bed was comfortable. Unusually for a B&B there was a fridge with a bar selection in the room from which you could choose drinks at reasonable prices. The shower was large and the water hot and there were bathrobes provided. The breakfast was good if not exciting, and served on a magnificent table which would have been suitable for a dinner party for 20.
The owner and the staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much. We were sorry the restaurant was closed because if the standard matched the B&B it would have been very good indeed.
If you have any problems with knees I would ask for a different room because the Sanfelice has a staircase connecting the bathroom and bedroom levels. In fact the stairs from the courtyard to the apartment are pretty difficult to manage.
The only other drawback is the very busy road which is made from a very rough material. The noise dies down to very little at night but could be annoying if you need an afternoon rest like we older folk do. Not a serious problem though.

Everything was perfect, the villa is old and beautiful.
Nothing to complain.

My wife and I spent a night here during our honeymoon and it was not nearly enough. I cannot overstate the spectacular nature of the the villa itself. Our room had 9m ceilings (yes, you read that right - 9m/27ft), REAL frescos on the walls, a green marble soaking tub… to say nothing of the incredible hospitality of the staff! Claudia and Teresa went above and beyond. We were able to check-in early, an expansive breakfast was brought directly to our room; the pair were so sweet and accommodating, I couldn’t believe it was real. That it was so affordable was simply icing on the cake. And it bears stating - this gorgeous place with these beautiful people is literally an 8 minute walk from the Herculaneum Archeological Park. If you’re visiting Ercolano, this the Villa to be at!

The size of the apartment, it had everything we needed, was great to have separate bedroom for the kids. Claudia and Teresa were very helpful and organised a taxi from the airport for us, a taxi to and from Pompeii and then to the train station with the same drivers.

The friendliness of staff, the exceptional breakfast, the general ambience, the historic qualities of the property.
We would have appreciated (a) some English language channels on the TV (b) being able to leave our bags until we departed for the airport.

The apartment is beautiful and worth seeing. Our room had a floor to ceiling window with a view over an attractive old courtyard. The (mezzanine) bedroom had lovely antique furniture. The bathroom was small but pretty and had very nice toiletries. Breakfast was excellent. Everyone was helpful and friendly. It was all very romantic and we would love to go back. It's a short walk from the archaeological site.
We had a mezzanine bedroom and the private bathroom was downstairs which was a little bit difficult for someone with less mobility and meant having a light on all night so as to see the stairs. I think ours was probably the only room like this and in any case it would still be worth staying here as it's So lovely.

The classic 18th century style of the guest house with modern amenities. We had a lovely room abd our friends had an alazing two bed two bathroom suite .
The could have been more signs on the building to help us locate the guest house.
