We stopped here for one night on our way down to Devon, so just wanted a cheap and cheerful option and found this place for the night. We were so pleasantly surprised - firstly the bed was SO comfortable and the rooms were really nicely done and clean and modern, really good. It was just off a main road so really easy to access but was so quiet when trying to sleep. It’s got dog friendly rooms and our dog had plenty of space and nice little grassy area nearby to have a potter about / toilet etc easily. The best part though was easily the price - excellent for what you actually get. Whilst you’re not going to be staying here for a holiday, it’s excellent for a stop over or a night if you’re nearby for a wedding etc. We found lots of places asked for £10-30 extra per night for a dog to stay which was incredibly frustrating (and ridiculous) especially when you just want a quick cheap stop over place without frills, so when we found this place that didn’t charge extra it was a no brainer and instantly drew us to it as a strong plus. We go every year to Devon from London and this was the first time we decided to stop off en route and having found the Sun Inn we’d definitely look to stop off each time we go now!

the rooms were a good size, dog friendly and equipped with a fridge too.

there was very loud music playing for the beer garden from early to late. we were hoping to get a meal at the property, as it had a good menu. when we arrived we were told there was a reduced menu, as they had staff issues. we booked a table for that evening anyway. when we arrived in the restaurant, there was no food available at all.

Comfortable bed and amazing powerful shower. Food in the pub was also great.

I didn't like the fact that I booked via booking.com and the Sun Inn insisted they had not recieved the money and I therefore had to pay a second time. I then contacted them to say that my bank account have been debited by Booking.com on 11th May and by them on the 14th - I stayed on the 13th May. They have continued to insist that this is not possible, despite it clearly happening. I am now trying to get my money back from booking.com, as the Sun Inn continue to insist they have only had the money once, from when I paid a second time

You could not fault it at all the staff were excellent and friendly, would recommend it to anyone who is looking for accommodation.

I could control the heating of the room myself. The bed was so comfortable.

Breakfast fresh and more than ample. Ideal for dog walking as a park was nearby. They welcomed the dogs. Regular cleaning and staff very friendly.

Very kind and courteous welcome by Sam. All the staff were friendly and were aware of the reason we were staying, being a family funeral. Very attentive and often asked if we were okay.

Would have liked more variety of “Zero” type of drink to buy other than coke. Just a flavoured water would be nice.

Lovely staff made me feel welcome on arrival. Bianca and Carol have been amazing through our 5 week stay. Breakfast was lovely and very hot. Our room is lovely nice and quiet and wonderful shower. Carol keeps the room clean and provides fresh towels, tea & coffee.

All at The Sun Inn so welcoming, creating a lovely atmosphere. We enjoy superb breakfasts especially the Full English & so delicious each visit. Rooms cosy and great walks for the dog.
