It's basically a repurposed room in the old dormitory.

The building is like a dormitory or a boarding house, 25-30 small apartments per floor, lots of random people. Was a bit noisy, sounds coming thru the door and from outdoors. It is like a tiny apartment hotel but in an old shabby house.

Although the apartment was in a very bad looking building, it was clean from inside and utensils were available.

1) After booking, I enquired about availability of utensils from the host "Mira" to which she very abruptly replied asking to book a hotel elsewhere. 2) During my 8-day stay, I tried to keep the apartment very clean and even cleaned the room using a broom every two-three days. I even washed the towels in the washing machine just before the day of my checkout so that they are clean. 3) Upon checkout, the host "Mira" showed very pathetic behaviour, alleging that guests from your country stay like pigs and keep the apartment "awful". We had tried our best to keep the apartment clean. But general things like a messed-up bed and a few unclean utensils are a practicality when staying in a hotel/apartment. It does not mean that you can say such bad things to a guest. 4) Upon confrontation that I tried to keep the room very clean and tidy, the host behaved very despicably. The host "Mira" has no right to generalise that people from a particular nation stay like pigs. Very deplorable.

Mira was really flexible in accommodating my late airplane to get me the keys and was very helpful in explaining resources for finding things to do in Almaty. The apartment is cozy, just a little far from the center.

Very good, comfortable apartment in good location within a city /metro,buses/ Very modern and clean. Close to grocery shops,supermarket. The building looks not so nice but the apartment is perfect.Do not hesitate to book. Good price.
