Let be the decor and the location, it was walkable and close to good restaurants and the famous market. We loved plaza major and enjoying the churros and chocolate at the square. 7 mins walk to The oldest restaurant Botin. And even though we didn’t have too much time in Madrid, it was close to the metro and we were there during pride and the streets were so lively! We loved the room, the bed was comfortable and even though the building is about 200 yrs old they took good care of it. We loved having instant coffee and tea in the room. They also give you two bottles of water complimentary. A very comfortable stay.

Staff were fantastic place was lovely and clean and decor really lovely.

Looks of noise above with the wooden floors we heard someone walking up and down all night every night so we had poor sleep.

The location was unbeatable!!!! Literally looking at the palace and walkable to Plaza Mejor, market, Gran Via and Retiro Park. The room with the chandeliers and beams and old wooden floors and the size of the room was perfect

Noise insulation is very poor. Floors creak a lot. I could hear not only people above me but outside as well. The plumbing can also be heard. The toilet in my room was too close to the shower wall. Had to sit diagonally. In the image I placed a toilet roll for distance comparison. The pillows for me were too flat but of good quality. But, for the price I paid those can be overlooked.

Easy check in and receptionist spoke good English. Got upgraded to a room with a view of the palace and small terrace. Easy to find and close to opera metro station. Plus very quiet considering in the middle of the city. Excellent WiFi

Advertised as apartment..has a mini fridge but it is more like a large hotel room but very comfortable.

The location is perfect! The decor in our room was quite decadent and gave us the feel we were in Paris instead of Madrid!! The little balcony is a nice touch and there are loads of bars, cafes and restaurants right downstairs. The check-in was seamless and the option to store luggage for a while after check out was very nice. This was the perfect location for our brief stay and we would not hesitate to stay here again if in Madrid.

The bed was tad too hard for our taste and the bed is very low to the ground. The bottom sheet kept coming undone and we had to adjust several times throughout the night. Part of its charm are the old wooden floors which creak quite a bit and one can hear the upstairs guests walking about—this may annoy some light sleepers.
