Room felt with a weird vibe and people were really noisy.

The staff was extremely nice and accommodating - they helped me change my bed, and gave me some ice for my swollen ankle. The location is really good, and it is great that I could drop off my backpack before checking in. The bar downstairs is lovely, and the bar bathroom is very nice and clean. The value for money is really great. I was traveling alone and felt very safe there.

Obviously the comfort of the beds wasn't amazing, because it's 3 bunk beds on top of each other - but to be fair it is not that inconvenient for a couple of nights, considering the price of stay. The lockers for personal stuff in the rooms were rather small. One of the hostel bathrooms was lacking soap, and there were some personal items left behind (underwear and towel).

Great location, nice clean room, big bathroom, quiet at night

The bed was uncomfortable because of the hard mattress. The shower holder was broken. Would be nice to have some facilities in the double room (kettle, hair dryer). And there was no possibility to lock the door from inside so it couldn't be opened with the card key from outside

Very close to Borough market and London Bridge. Bedding was clean and cozy. Beds were sturdy and comfy and the lockers were great, there were enough for me to use two. Overall, I felt very comfortable and slept great! Pub wasn’t overly loud either and staff were very friendly.

Being over a pub, there is no common area or kitchen which can mean you feel kind of stuck in the room. The bathrooms often got soaked on the ground from the shower and could be quite busy, but were otherwise nice. A reading light and curtains over the bed would have been nice and they’re only a minor addition, but not major.

No utilities such as kettle or microwave. No common area to hang out besides the bar downstairs. One of the toilets was absolutely filthy and during my stay the rubbish was only taken out once (staid for over a week). One of the showers didn't have a working lock on the door, while other was missing its knobs. Beds were extremely small, so if you're over 180cm you're guaranteed to bang your toes to the beds metal pipes. Stacking beds 3 high makes the top bunk difficult to get into. No proper heating in rooms. Room had 3 ceiling lights and only one of them worked.

Chap who checked me in (and subsequently was there to provide me with a towel in the morning too) was incredibly friendly and helpful. shower facilities were good; and room not too loud at all. incredible value for central london

toilet wasn’t that nice

absolutely loved my stay at Rose & Crown. The location is perfect and the staff was great! The rooms were very clean and comfortable.

Hand dryers activate easily and can be heard from all bedrooms, even the private upstairs room. Woke me up a couple times but not the biggest deal. Also, the feminine disposal boxes were never cleaned out the entire time we were there and it smelled a bit.

Location was good for walking around and catching the train to the airport. Building has good bones and could run really nicely with some improvements.

Staff seemed unhappy. Barely spoke or gave any orientation during check-in. Only three toilets for about 7 dorm rooms that each sleep probably 9 people. Bathrooms were dirty, garbage overflowing, lots of dark mold on the ceiling in one of them. What appeared to be security cameras in the bathrooms, one of which pointed at the mirror and shower. The "shower room" had two shower stalls and a dressing room; unlabelled so assumed co-ed, no one seemed to use it. Other two showers were in private washrooms with the toilets. No hooks for bags or towels in any washroom except the bar washroom and floors always filthy. No sense of community generated by the establishment by way of setting ground rules for guests; dorm-mates let the door slam, did not turn their phone notifications or alarms to vibrate mode, came to bed late and talking to one another, did not keep showers concise so that others could use them. Very thin walls in second story dorms, could hear the bar below until about midnight and foot traffic up and down stairs all night until about 5am. No sheet on bed, just a thick quilt and room was very stuffy and poorly ventilated. No curtain across bed as shown in pictures. Cramped room, could not sit up in bed or move around in the room to get dressed.
