At arrival our cards didn’t work and very common in China. They refused to take $’s nor €’s as a deposit to spend the night. We arrived late evening and asked them to help exchange some money to cover the first night at least but we got no help. I suggested to even give a guarantee deposit of $1,000 for the first night until I manage to exchange some money the next day and again they said sorry we cannot. I was left to spend the night I wonder where ? Luckily my wife had 1200 rmb and that saved us. We ordered some food to the room for dinner and they said sorry we cannot serve you food as your amount is not enough, had to disturb and wake up my Chinese friend after midnight so that he could pay from his device via wechat. After the payment was done, the staff became friendly and started saying we are sorry. I know the Accor group are not beginners in the industry but I felt the manager of the building needs to be fired if I was the owner. I am also in the hotel business and own 2 hotels but we can never treat a client this way. We accept any currency as guarantee and find solutions in order to solve the clients problems. Surely the manager was French and wears a G string.

The design and ambient of the hotel, spacious.

I was in the room of 31/F, not sure there’re some sounds (likes as disco beat) that I could hear from the upper floor… but it didn’t last overnight so I can accept. Pillows and mattress are quite soft, I prefer the heaven bed or other 5 stars hotel ones.

I like the room on high floor, clean, high ceiling, spacious! Staff are friendly and well trained.

A bit dusty on the outside of the window wall, but just a minor comment.

One of the best hotels in Guangdong, and definitely the best hotel I've ever stayed in. This is true luxury. STUNNING decors (we stayed in the "post-modern" style), but they have a variety to choose from, and the furniture is incredibly stylish and lavishly decorated. Breakfast buffet is ENORMOUS - it covers two rooms! Such a massive variety of food. Amazing gym too, and a free pingpong table, yoga room, pool with steam rooms etc. We also tried the Italian restaurant onsite and it's probably some of the best Italian food I've had in China. Incredibly good value for money.

Only 3 small issues: 1. Only a couple people on staff are fluent in English (you can muddle your way through, so not a huge deal). 2. The swimming pool requires you to buy a swimming hat to use it. 3. If you want a glass of water at the Skybar you need to buy an Evian, not ideal.

The location is unfriendly to tourists, unless you would like to shopping in the furniture market. The nearby environment is awful, makes you feel Like a 'king living in the slum'.
