Nice, peaceful location. On an old farm, so it’s a unique place in Amsterdam and the rooms have been done up well. Big bathroom and can sleep 4 adults. Good value for the location and size of rooms. Staff were friendly. Flexible check-out time. Rooms are quiet with good sound-proofing.

Not a hotel, just a set of rooms really. No cleaning of rooms during stay, and no reception area, but you can message the manager. Room hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly - there were quite a lot of old coffee cups in a cupboard and previous guest’s loose cigarettes in bedside drawer, so clearly the cleaners don’t do a thorough job. Towels and bedding were clean but were all stained in some way, should be replaced.

The location is handy to Amstelstation and was quiet and comfortable.

The bathroom plumbing had a bad smell and the kitchenette was too small. There were not a lot of options for dinner in the area during Dec/Jan.

The room was spacious. Wifi worked well.

TL;DR-DO NOT STAY HERE. 1) Amenities listed on the website were not accurate; the room does not have a bidet as is listed, nor does it have an iron and ironing board, among other things. 2) The room was not clean, there were cobwebs behind the TV and in the bathroom. 3) The light switches do not always work. 4) The employee working there gave me inaccurate information re: how to get to city center. I had Google mapped it so I had an idea of how long it would take me to get there, but the gentleman basically said that it was inaccurate, that it would only be a 20-25 minute walk (contrary to the hour that Google Maps said. I enjoyed the walk regardless). 5) Good luck if you're there during the weekend. No one will be there to help you. And when you call to ask for help, they will moan and complain that it is a Sunday so I shouldn't expect quick service. Context: on Sunday morning, I forgot my wallet in the room (including my room key). I texted the employee who had given me his number, no response. I try to reach out through Booking, no response. I call back again and someone finally answers and they sound like I just woke them up. Anyway, they tell me someone will be there to let me in in about 25 mins. 45 MINS LATER, no one shows up. So I call back and he doesn't answer. I call again, and he basically yells at me because "it's Sunday morning!!!!" and he says someone will be there in 15 minutes. Another 30 minutes pass before I call AGAIN, and he says that someone is there but they're counting money at the restaurant first. Needless to say, I was seething. They knew I had been waiting for over an hour just for someone to let me back in my room but they had absolutely zero urgency to help their customer. 6) The price that was visible when I was making the reservation is NOT the price I ended up paying (almost $100 more)

This was an excellent choice for our visit to Amsterdam. The room was well designed and roomy with comfortable beds and excellent AC. The location is unique and peaceful.

A light breakfast prior to the restaurant opening at Qp10 would be ideal. also rental bikes would be perfect!

The place had a bit of character.

Probably my mistake, but I thought we were renting an authentic farmhouse and would have an area to sit and relax and also some outside space. This isn’t the case, it’s an old building converted into rooms that actually provides less comfort than staying at a hotel.

A wonderful place! Great for families who want to be in the same space rather than spread over hotel rooms. The site itself, with the farm and restaurant, is a peaceful oasis in the city. this is the second time we’ve stayed here and fully plan to stay again the next time we’re in Amsterdam.

The Authentic Farmhouse is located in a quiet area between canals and within walking distance to the train/tram station. We were in Amsterdam during a heatwave so the A/C was greatly appreciated even if the power went out on the first day due to overload of the city infrastructure. Dane did a great job of letting us know this would happen and was easily reached by text during our visit. This is a great place to stay!

The first night we were there someone from another room was trying to connect their Spotify account and our tv turned on 2x's at full blast in the middle of the night. :) It may have been due to the staff party that was happening that night. Also, we returned one evening to find our hotel door propped open and the room had not been cleaned. I believe this was due to housekeeping issues.

The room was very spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. Our host was friendly. The restaurant associates had helpful and attentive service, nice gardens on the property. In walking distance to many restaurants and attractions.

Found this place when planning our visit to the Netherlands. Was looking for a place out from the center of Amsterdam, yet close enough to get there by public transportation. While researching online I followed the public rail out from Amsterdam Station in several directions and found this absolute gem close to Amstel Station. Cannot say enough good about De Vergulden Eenhoorn. Deene and his staff were over the top in friendliness and hospitality. Everything far exceeded our expectations. We don't care for the usual hotel experience, this place rocked it for us. Also, the food and drink were absolutely wonderful. The garden setting of the whole place transports you away from the sights and sounds of the city and make you feel like you are in a serene oasis.

very clean, cozy and stylish place.. Deene is a very nice person and helpful host. I recommend this place to anyone coming to Amsterdam to enjoy a peaceful getaway.

The property has a convenient location and is about 7-10 min walking distance to the Amstel Station. It's surrounded by a nice garden, with a little pub on the grounds of the hotel. Clean, with comfortable beds.

No kitchen. Instead, a coffee station consisting of a small cupboard with a coffee machine and a kettle. Fridge was on but maintained room temperature and did not cool off. No sink at the coffee station meant coffee cups needed to be washed in the bathroom. Shower stall has an exposed low beam in the middle of the ceiling limiting the effective usable space for a person taller than 1.6 m. Shower knobs come off, shower head sprays water sideways. The property has low ceilings and tight spaces, consists of four different levels accessible by small staircases. Going from the top level to the bathroom at night is a dangerous affair. The wireless did not work for two of the four days we stayed.

Large and very comfortable room & bedding.

Our host Deene was very polite, friendly and helpful. Good size room with high Ceiling. You can not hear a thing when you are in the room despite the fact there is a popular restaurant-bar adjacent to it.

There is no room service. Very small shower room, and after finishing the shower, there is a lot of water all over the room, and if you are not careful, it will cover the hall-way as well. Both hand-wash jars in the toilet and shower room were empty, and we washed our hand with mini shower gel provide (probably if we asked, they would have provided some, but we were feeling too tired by the end of the day to go & ask). The duvet cover was not clean, and we found a big yellow stain on it. Although the size of the bed was decent, the bed isn't comfy at all. We hardly have had good night sleep. I would not call it mini Kitchenette, but just a coffee and tea maker.

Perfect green location in the city, our son loved the yard and the upstairs kid‘s room. Very tastefully renovated and furnished. We felt nicely welcomed by the host and really enjoyed our stay.

The cleaning/housekeeping service did not match our expectations (only once during a four-night-stay) - would have expected a daily housekeeping service including e.g. new sheets (our son had nosebleeding and the stains were still on the sheets) and a properly cleaned sink (there was still toothpaste in the one sink and used cups to soak in the other).
