Everything. But mainly the staff, who were lovely and exceptionally helpful, and the location, which really is brilliant. The breakfast is also delicious, and there’s loads of thoughtful little touches that make you feel extremely well looked after. It really is a great place to stay.

Breakfast wasn’t great for me as I prefer to help myself and gluten free choices were limited. The complimentary drinks in the fridge were hot..the fridge was as warm as an oven! The walls and ceiling in my room were covered in stains..it looked like someone has shaken a can of coke and sprayed it around the room. Housekeeping/maintenance did clean it quickly after I raised it with them. The AC wasn’t cool enough for me…so sleeping was uncomfortable, even in April!

The staff was very helpful and they are doing the most they can with the somewhat limited facilities. We loved the location. Breakfast was great . They have an interesting room with historic ruins in the basement. They also provide free walking tours of the city which were very nice.

Everything!! Treated us like royalty the entire time--even left a little surprise in our room because it was out anniversary. Perfect location (bookstand and trolley stops out front), excellent food/drink (to-die-for risotto and novelty cocktails), amazing amenities (free walking tours and evening canapés), and delightful staff (attentive and interested). Guests CANNOT miss the downstairs "living room" with archaeological excavations and lending library.

Unfortunately I was not able to leave a tip for the spa staff. Upon checkout, we paid for all extra services, but they could only take gratuities on behalf of the hotel. We had no more euros and no time to get any before departure flight.

Oh my gosh! What an incredible experience from beginning to end! Every team member was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly from the greeters at the door to the dining staff and the wonderful ladies who provided a fabulous spa treatment. The bonuses and surprises ranged from a self-serve ice cream machine, assorted snacks to a daily chef experience in the early evening available to hotel guests. Pedro even surprised the us with hand made soap roses on International Women's Day!! Our rooms were impeccable with all the amenities! We took advantage of the interesting walking tours to learn more about the city. The front desk made check in/out easy and also arranged transportation shuttle service to the airport. We absolutely loved our Lisbon experience and thank the entire staff for making out stay memorable. The Portuguese people are so proud of their culture and their country! You can feel it when you chat with those who were born and raised there!

I highly recommend this property first and foremost because of the attentive and friendly staff. Big shout out to Pedro and Andre. The hotel offered 2 complimentary walking tours, hearty breakfast, midnight snacks, pre dinner snacks, and there’s an ice cream vending machine in the lobby. After a long day of walking the hills of Lisbon we availed of the complimentary massage. The housekeeping is impeccable. Our room has a terrace that has views of the Pink Street. The mini bar is complimentary and there’s a Nespresso machine if you don’t feel like going down to the lobby for coffee. A pillow menu is available depending on your sleeping needs. I’ve never seen this in any other hotels before. We were celebrating our birthdays and they provided us with cake and wine. What a pleasant surprise!

The staff were very friendly, especially Fernando in the bar, he was such a lovely person, explained our cocktails and remembered our orders before we had to ask. Only one bar man was a bit rude, we only saw him when we arrived and didn’t see him again. The cocktails at the bar were amazing! The food on the bar menu was delicious. The surroundings were lovely. The living room downstairs with wall was fantastic. The ice cream in reception was brilliant! The lights and music in the shower were relaxing. We didn’t get time to use the spa facilities but they looked really nice.

We had an issue with the shower in our first room. The water would not go down the drain and the water would spill out onto the floor all over the bathroom and into the bedroom. This happened very quickly. The way the shower was shaped you could not see this happening. We reported it the first evening and were told it would be sorted, that night we came back to the hotel and we were told it would be fixed in the morning, we agreed 11am. The next day we went for breakfast, we went back to our room and there was no evidence of anyone being there. We went to reception on our way out for the day and we were told it would definitely be fixed that day. We returned to the hotel that evening. We had dinner booked in another location for 7pm. I went to the room to shower for dinner, thinking the shower was fixed at this stage. The shower flooded again. There was water everywhere. I went to reception, we were told we could move room, my husband could not shower because it had flooded again. I found it stressful as we were trying to get ready to go out and go for dinner. We managed to move our dinner reservation by 30mins. We were told to send the video and footage to what’s app. We received no apology or follow up about the situation from management. We were moved to a slightly bigger room with an extra sink, however it wasn’t worth the stress and lack of communication. It took over 24 hours to solve the problem and we had to ask 3 times, very poor communication and follow up. The first evening and next morning there was a very strong smell of sewage. This seemed to go after the first day. Breakfast could be warmer, we found our breakfast was cold. Breads very hard, We didn’t bother going for breakfast the last morning, not a five star breakfast.
