This town is an off-the-beaten track treat. The owner of this hotel is also a local teacher, and the lobby also serves as a hang out for a few local folk, mostly kids, who use some computers set up for them. Community announcements are made from this hotel. None of this is disturbing to the hotel guests, but makes the hotel feel like a vital part of the town. Folks in town were friendly and interested in us. They have some cool local ruins, and a beautiful terraced valley. Our room was comfortable and clean, with extra shelving for bag storage. We flew to Ayacucho then we’re picked up by a private car arranged for us by the owner. This was expensive. Next time I’d either just get a private car from Cusco (just another couple hours driving, but no flight required), or if you’re in Nazca, you’re practically in the area. You could also get a bus running the Cusco to Lima route, stopping near Puquio where you could catch a bus to Andamarca. With this, consider safety and avoid night buses.

Difficult to get to, but worth it.
