We absolutely loved our occidental stay. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is in marvelous spot surrounded by the jungle and its animal inhabitants. It is a true paradise. I highly recommend this place to all.

Nos dieron una habitación con dos camas en lugar de una como pedí y pague por Booking. Encontramos un par de insectos en la habitación

The beach and the pool were the best part of it.

The food in the booked restaurants was not great and the distances from the main restaurants are not ideal. Also the hotel should provide free transportation to the main city playa del carmen instead of making you book a taxi every single time you want to leave the resort.

We loved the property- it's gorgeous and treed and we ran into a little monkey, agoutis, koatis, as well as other animals during our stay. The proximity to Xcaret is really ideal. We were pleasantly surprised by the food (after reading so many negative comments). We actually really enjoyed all the food we ate- if you like fresh fruit and fresh vegetables you won't be disappointed with the buffet restaurants. The fruit and salad bar was great! All the food at the stations where they cook things for you in the moment was also really tasty and hot (omelettes, fried fish, tacos, etc). We skipped a lot of the other areas of the buffet most of the time- seemed like the food wasn't very warm or tasty. We had one night at an a la carte restaurant and we chose the Mexican restaurant. Was delicious! Paco's tacos was also really yummy. We found the drinks good and just asked them specifically not to make them too sweet. We also liked that they use reusable cups for the drinks- they're not just plastic that get thrown out. Even though the "beach"/inlet is small it never felt squished. Granted, we were there during the week and staff members did tell us that the whole place get's really crazy on the weekends. Something to think about if that matters to you. It was also nice to see many Mexican nationals at this hotel.

There was one day that we didn't have hot water for a shower. It would be nice for them to have large water dispensers at a couple places on the property instead of handing out the small plastic water bottles. They tried to sell us the 90 minute timeshare presentation and were very pushy about it. We already knew we didn't want to spend 90 minutes in a presentation for something we weren't interested in- even if we could a discount of it. Time is too precious to waste when you're on vacay!

The very friendly and helpful staff. Clean pool and beach areas, variety of food for meals. Saw staff every day cleaning the grounds and picking up any trash they saw. Bar tenders were quick and efficient at making any sort of cocktail.

We stayed in building 18 and the music near that pool seemed louder than necessary each day. We were given some resort money, told the resort stores needed to accept it and some of the stores said they did not.

La atención de todo el personal una maravilla! El hotel precioso y la comida y bebidas todo una delicia,muy variado el desayuno, almuerzo y cena!!! El mozo Román de Snack bar tiene toda la buena onda y muy servicial,hay un muchacho muy atento q prepara omelettes en uno de los comedores,sin dudas los mejores q comimos!!! Las habitaciones súper amplias y cómodas,volveríamos son dudas!!!

Realmente tooodoo, las instalaciones súper limpias, atención de primer nivel, tiene todo para estar cómodo y divertirte, la comida deliciosa, la atención de las personas (staff, meseros, recepción y personal, maleteros), muy muy atentos y dispuestos a cualquier necesidad, de verdad que me sentí mucho mejor que en casa. Las zonas arqueológicas, el área de animales y todas sus zonas, muy limpio y hermoso

La verdad que lo único que mejoraría es el tema de los restaurantes, es entendible pero me parece que la logística podría mejorar

La comida de los 2 restaurantes de especialidades tanto el oriental como el de carnes fue Exquisito de verdad la carne el sushi todo increíble las porciones perfectas para poder probar de todo El servicio excelente . Aparte hay opciones para todos los gustos los que les gusta la carne el marisco las pastas hay de todooo

Eso no depende del hotel pero servirá de comentario en el área de playa la gente aparta camastros y camas desde las 7 am y dam las 12 la una y no las usan se que no depende de ellos pero algo podrán solucionar Nos tocó 2 camas apartadas desde las 8 que llegamos y nos fuimos a las 4 y nunca llegaron

los vendedores de actividades y vendedores de tiempo compartido, por más que les dices que no te interesa no te dejan tranquilo te acosan queriéndote vender y es bien incomodo que no lo dejen disfrutar de nuestro tiempo

The ocean beach is really clear and beautiful with tropical fish swimming with you. The way the beach is setup - there is no seaweed like other locations we have been to. The food was really good at the main buffet and the Mexican restaurant!

When we showed up our room had not been cleaned and it took hours for them to finally clean it. There was trash and other people clothes still in the room. The communication was really bad on what events were going on and what you could do at the xcarat park. We were first told we could go to the night show without buying an additional ticket and then the next day told the opposite. I tried to communicate with the hotel before we left through booking to setup a birthday dinner and understand the hotel more - but they told me to just talk to them when we arrived. It was odd you could only make dinner reservations once per every 3 nights.

The rooms and grounds are beautiful. The food is delicious and drinks amazing! This is the perfect resort for access to Xcaret. We traveled back and forth through our entire stay. The staff is friendly and works hard to enhance your stay. Lovely view of the ocean. The pools are beautiful and well maintained.

The resort outdoor is beautiful wild animals, jungle, swimming pools, and caleta.

The bartenders were rude. They didn’t like my dad asking for nonalcoholic drinks. Every single bartender had a bad attitude.

It was very clean. The staff was nice.

Not enough signs. It was hard to figure out how to get to different places such as the pool or dolphin area. The resort was more spread out than I thought and food was not as good as xcaret hotel.

Needs updating in some areas. Become more vegan friendly.

1. ocean pool has no warning of slippery steps nor a handrail on one set of stairs. my wife fell and sprained her foot and ripped her toenail off. 2. constant bombardment of listening to a sales pitch!!!!! even called our room multiple times. 3. room service was horrible. available menu was terrible. 4. having to feel like you can only go to your room when the attack employees are not at the downstairs desk of every building.

The resort was beautiful, the room was very nice. The beach lagoon was beautiful. The beach outside was nice. I liked the access to Xcaret park right next door with different pathways to go back and forth throughout the day. Park access costs extra, but worthwhile. There are amazing ruins on site. Variety of animals including Spider Monkeys, deer, agouti, macaws,

The staff were not friendly. The bartenders didn't make good drinks, the alcohol was watered down significantly. The food was all the same every day. The a la cart's were not worthwhile, seafood made us sick, the large prawns were mushy. The beach restaurant staff was inconsistent with their rules for guests: I was told to cover my body wearing a one piece bathing suit and wrap wasn't good enough, while other females dined wearing strapless bikini top and unzipped shorts, or a one piece only.

location, location, location! Right next to Xcaret and down The street from Xplor. facilities are great. shows were very good. plenty of fauna.

We had a wonderful time. The facilities are very good. We had a couple of hiccups but the staff was very helpful and made it all easy to get through everything. Thank you to a very special person, manager Jose D. Who embraced us like family and was readily available to assist us for our all our needs . I recommend this resort highly.

The location and the communal areas, especially the beach cove area

The dated 3 star Hotel room that is so sub standard they should be ashamed. We will never stay here again.
