Excellent location, a short walk into Bowness. Bonus of having parking at the property. There’s a lovely garden area with seating which guests can use. Beautiful period interior decor, very clean, comfortable beds. Wonderful hosts Rob and Clare who were so welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, good local ingredients used, and the hosts offer a very wide range of options and were very accommodating to provide what my daughter had requested. Particularly liked that there were proper glasses available to use if you wanted to enjoy a bottle of wine in your room - no having to drink out of tumblers or mugs!

Very warm welcome from Claire. Every detail was thought in the room, we could see lots of green view from the room 6 at the top! Claire and Rob were always very kind. Very central location and definitely value for money. We left the car in the hotel car park and walked almost everywhere. Delicious homemade breakfast and very clean facilities. If we come back we definitely will stay again.

Amazing location, loveliest hosts, gorgeous breakfast, really comfortable clean rooms, great selection of walking books to explore the area - felt so at home! Will 100% be back! Cannot fault our stay.

We loved our stay at Oakfold house. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. Slight problem with the toilet and was dealt with straight away. The breakfast was absolutely gorgeous. Thank you both so much.

Clare and Robert were amazing hosts, very attentive and readily giving advice on the region. The location is very good only 10 minutes walking distance from the center and several restaurants while still being very quiet. The best part was the breakfast which you could select each evening from various options. The rooms are super clean and I slept very well in the comfy beds

Everything was absolutely perfect! So much so we have booked to go back in 3 weeks. Claire & Rob were so welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast was beautiful, room exceeded our expectations and the location is fabulous.
There is nothing not to like! The property is immaculate throughout and you couldn’t ask for better hosts. Lots of choice on the menu for breakfast and it was pure quality which speaks volumes coming from a food snob :-) You won’t be disappointed.

fantastic!!! The facilities were so cosy and well maintained. Clare & Rob were exceptional hosts - extra warm and friendly and nothing was a bother for them. Breakfast was superb- Rob is a trained chef so top notch.
Close for day trips to the other pretty towns and villages in the Lakes District.

Truly nothing. Rob & Clare went out of their way everyday to check in and ask what they could do and make sure there were no issues. They truly cared about us enjoying our stay. Lovely hosts.

NOTHING - we we’re advised the room we chose (5) was snug, but as were quite short (under 5.5), it was perfect.

Beautiful house. Get a very warm welcome on arrival. The room was very cosy. Breakfast amazing and nothing is to much for the owners to make your stay the best it can be.

We stayed at Oakfold House for 3 nights as we were in Bowness for a family wedding. It was an absolutely perfect experience. The room was very clean, comfortable and with everything you need. The highlight of our stay were the breakfasts. We tried many of the breakfasts and they were cooked beyond perfection and with excellent vegetarian/vegan options available. The hosts were lovely and made us feel very comfortable there. We hope to be back in the future!
